Hi Julian, great video!!! I'm in doubt with my S5ii because the 1-area+ I can enlarge or reduce by only 1 step, instead on 1-area I can enlarge and reduce without limitations. It's a normal behaviour or it's an issue of my camera? Thanks
Perfect answers and suggestions for EXACTLY what I was looking for: 1. What and Where are the luts, Vlog, settings, and how to get into that Max resolution mode....I'll give both these features a try tomorrow. Thank you.
Great video! In my opinion, it´s good to shoot in V-log with a real time LUT applied. I still having a raw file, but can start from that point to have the photo I like, and it is going to match with the videos I made too.
Thanks for the tips brother. I replaced my sony lens collection with the Sigma 14-24 f2.8 and 24-70 f2.8 for L mount. I don't do tele or macro work anymore so i'm all set.
That's the right question. On my Sony body i used the Sigma 16-28 f2.8 that supported front filter thread. A nice lens i used for video too with the PolarPro VND Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II. However, i'm not using wide lenses for video that much these days. Personally, for photo i do not use ND filters. For video i would need the ND to be Variable. But for photo the rear filters will do fine if i need them. There are front adapters that can mount filters, might be an option. I bought the 14-24 used cheap in superb condition and prefer it over the 16-28. @@juliankrakow
@@Giovanni-Giorgio Yeah, it is a better lens than the 16-28 which has too much distortion for my test. I was considering it but I need VND and Polarizer. For now Im using sony 16-35 f2.8 GM for my wide shots.
Very solid advice. I find adjusting the focus-zone using the joystick is much much quicker than using the display. Further, the size of box of the 1+ can be adjusted to become larger and smaller, which can be pretty handy. Speaking of RAW and color profiles, I am noticing that the color profile is carried over from video to photo mode, which can be pretty frustrating as I need to manually toggle this setting whenever going between the modes. If you know a way to get around this please let me know. = )
@@storylift_io Thanks. To answer your question, you need to separate photo settings from video settings. Check this video how to do it: th-cam.com/video/e6d71cY5NtY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lVVooRmeG_wXjGwW

Thanks Julian, your comment about the autofocus has helped me to decide to leave the Lumix system. I currently shoot with the S5, but the autofocus is sluggish and unreliable. I was thinking of switching to the S5ii or moving to Canon or Nikon (or Sony, though I don't like the feel of Sony). I don't think Lumix is going to work for me, as it is more video-centric. I shot Fujifilm for six years before moving to Lumix, and the S5 reminds me of the old 56mm f1.2 on an X-T2 in terms of autofocus.
Hello Julian , I am happy to discover your channel and I think is very underrated. You are doing very well and hope your channel will grow fast. I am tired from influencers who trying to sell me nd filters and wireless microphones. I would like to ask you ; 1. How is S5ii performing on wedding photography (autofocus ,colour and etc.) 2. How is performance with Sigma L mount lenses? 3. Do you think Canon R6 ii is better for wedding film makers and videographers ? Even that R6 ii is £1000 more expensive than S5ii? 4. How is low light performance with S5 ii ? (In my experience is very very bad )And recommend autofocus settings for low light video and photography? Thanks and will you all best.
Hello Sammy, thank you for watching. For wedding photography the S5II is fine. Colors are great, even without processing, AF is OK but I don't trust it enough to leave it on face detection and other auto modes. As I've mentioned in the video, I use Area + for everything. I haven't actually use the camera with Sigma lenses, only with adopted EF glass and Lumix lenses. So I can't comment on the Sigma but there is a big difference between EF and original Lumix lenses in photography. One thing to be aware of is the Lumix doesn't play well with Godox flashes. I have talked about it in my other video where I compared it to Canon R6II. If you are on the budget Lumix will do just fine for wedding videos as there are lots of videographers o TH-cam who produce great wedding videos with this camera. Personally I prefer the Canon because the AF is just on another level. In low light too, I use the Area + and play with the size of the AF point. The size of this AF affects the AF response depending on situation and backlight.
sigma ( i have sigma 35 1.4 L mount ) more struggles and hunting if we compare with native lens , but still ok. Comparing with a7IV which i have as a first camera , AF ofc faster on Sony , but i prefer to work with Lumix , more smart camera and Panasonic engineers had done their work rly well
Wow, I didn't know that shooting in v-log affected raw, I thought raw was always a 100% color profile free file even when I use realtime lut for my jpgs

I don’t blame you. I’ve left the Lumix too. I really wanted it to work for me but in the end the camera had too many shortcomings.

Yeah, because V-log is specific for video it works differently than regular photo profiles.
