      Nah that’s what he gets for getting cocky and thinking his only competition was Spencer lee. Spencer absolutely worked mueller in the finals

      Look up broomstick, and look for “dps breakdowns” as he does a great analysis of what Mueller’s doing to hit it.

    I keep telling people this and the wrestlers on my former team. If your wrestling a really good wrestler and you know you have a long shot to win, make the match ABSOLUTE HELL. Do not give the guy anything, make him work for the escape, get away from him quickly, pressure him the whole time and don’t let him get to his moves on the feet. Make that guy work for everything. Mueller wrestled a very smart match. Took Rivera down almost immediately, knowing he couldn’t spend much time on the feet, riding him hard for the whole match, and just competing and making every position difficult

  • @edwardcsuka6781
    @edwardcsuka6781 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you watch the match between rivera and micic it’s basically the same offensive strategy. Mueller said that it was the match he studied to come up with his offensive game plan.

  • @znhait
    @znhait 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Some guys know how to ride without trying to turn, which is what Mueller did. It still amazes me how Rivera was 2-0 against Lee. I guess it has to do with length. Mueller and Micic both took down River quite easily with the pass by, which is effective for a tall wrestler against a short wrestler.

    Great offense by mueller with three takedowns. But guys, although ok by rule DOUBLE BOOTS IS THE ULTIMATE PARALLEL RIDE.. it’s stalling! You can inflict pain but you cannot turn a man with two legs in. Shame on Rivera for letting boots. I know one very difficult counter to double boots bit time and time again I see guys just get them in and sit there. In 50 years I have NEVER seen am Man turned unless one boot comes out. They need a rule change.

      the leg ride is most certainly a stall move while on top if not able to turn the bottom guy, not sure why officiating is not instructed to call it that way, or at least at a minimum to call stalemate much much sooner if the top guy is not able to improve his position and then call him for stalling if he continues to do it without improving
