What about the origins of Christmas? Shouldn't Christians care about that? Have we been fooled too long? Christmas is a pagan holiday. If we get a tree and decorate it, we are paying homage to the enemy. Read Jeremiah 10, for starters. I just learned about this recently and I for one don't want to offend the Lord this way. Not to mention that Jesus was born in September or October. Santa is an anagram for Satan.
Dear Judy, Christmas in and of itself is not a pagan Holiday. Nowadays we have a lot of materialism and Santa is trying to steal the show. But the roots of Christmas aren't pagan. If you would like more information on the topic, Mike Winger has an excellent video on the Origins of Christmas. It is here on TH-cam. Christmas trees originated with Martin Luther in Germany in the 1500s during the Reformation. The symbolism is actually quite beautiful. The tree with the baubles represents the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden and are a reminder of our sin and why we need a saviour. The candles represent the light that Christ brought to our dark world. Jeremiah 10 doesn't talk about Christmas trees, they weren't 'invented' back then. It talks about the folishness of manmade gods. The person goes into the wood, gets a tree, carves an Idol out of it and bows down to worship it. Nothing to do with trees as decoration. Every year around Christmas this verse is taken of context and wrongly applied. I love your heart, my sister in Christ, that you want to Honor our Saviour. That's really beautiful! I hope this information was helpful to you. I wish you a very blessed holiday season!
Christmas has nothing to do with the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and it has nothing to do with His Son our Messiah Yeshua. The quicker Christian’s walk away from man’s traditions and cling to Gods traditions the better. (He literally gave His people holidays to keep and Christians don’t even know what they are Leviticus 23)
