Love the dynamic between Alastor and his father, it's one of the things that got hinted at in livestreams leading up to the pilot's release, and also how much he cares for his mom's well being.
It’d be interesting if the show went this route, showing Alastor’s awful upbringing. Maybe it can even shed a light on why he murdered people. My headcanon is Alastor only killed abusive or creepy men who reminded him of his own father. It’d make sense, especially with the up in the air “fact” of him not targeting kids and such.

They know full well that his mother is agreed to be super kind by most fans, so would be considered to be in heaven (wether Viv said so or not, I’m unsure). They also know full well that he wasn’t born in hell, it’s just supposed to be an interesting take on the “Wait, what if this happened?” A quote from someone (forgot their name): “People need to learn to be able to consider things that are different from the source material.
