He produced some of the greatest riddims in Jamaican music history, but I'll say "Real Rock" was his magnum opus. And the fact he always followed the Rastafarian movement since the early 60s, also helped his dominance over all the other producers including his nearest rivals, Arthur "Duke" Reid and Prince Buster.

It was Prince Buster that opened the door for Rastafarians in the recording studio and not Mr Dodd. Mr Dodd was an ardent jazz lover at heart. Don't take my word for it do your own research !

@@bobcosmic and plus, he wasn’t really a fan of conscious lyrics being recorded over his productions. He would mostly prefer to record songs to keep people dancing than to record conscious songs

Coxsone Dodd ripped off the Wailers and a lot of other black artist in Jamaica. How comes it had to take a white man to treat them better ? Are you telling me Dodd didn't know about slavery and black history ? So then why did he do that to his own people ???

It was a white man name Chris Blackwell who gave them the opportunity to be where they are today. Chris, the same white man who paid for Bob Marley's mother's house. Where was Coxsone Dodd or the other rich black producers ? Dem too TEEF !

If you read his wikipedia they only wrote about 5 paragraphs considering what he brought to music how many artists his music influenced the different genres it spawned it's a total disrespect.

Terrible interviewer: constantly interrupting Mr. Dodd. Unfortunately, that type of interviewing is very common nowadays.
