really I think the closest they've come to a concept like this one (musically and cinematically) is Letting Go and I Wait. But this is definitely a lot more rock themed and somehow every different from both of the others. I love Day6 and their musical diversity.
I don't much like the quality of song when a Korean artists or groups make Japanese songs. I always find something missing but I can confidently say that day6's Japanese songs are made to be praised. It doesn't lack anything. That's why I have huge respect for this band more than anyone.
I know I'm a little late but you should listen to BIGBANG's Japanese discography, also one of the members, Daesung (known in Japan as D-Lite) releases songs only in Japanese and trust me, his voice is heavenly, very underrated.

First, one just gets lost in the music, second melts in the melody and last, just drowns in the vocals. Day6 has that quality, that everytime you listen to a particular song, you hear unnoticed beats and chords, idk if others feel the same too. Day6 always steal my heart. The emotions, the lyrics the music, it is just a perfect piece of Art. I love you 😭

I feel like as I listen to kpop more and more this year, I feel less impressed with what I’m seeing. But Day6 keeps impressing me, I loved I Need Somebody and I really love their albums as a whole. They show that you don’t need to dance or have muscles to be a good artist, all you need is your instruments and each other to make great music. JYP outta be proud of these boys, they’re so talented they need the love and support
I'm just gonna be that person. Rambling incoming!!! Jae starting this with a strong vocal part. I love him and his Korean but I *melt* at the English bits ok? He sounds so so good starting it off. It's a mix of power and breathy-ness that he naturally has in his singing. Jae's voice is so good for beginning parts. I don't know why, I just love his voice in the beginning. Then Young K blasts in with a powerful part that fits his vocals so well. He sounds so strong and it sounds amazing and it's in English too so I'm kinda melting a bit cause I love them singing in English for some reason. (side note: this doesn't mean I dislike them singing in Korean or Japanese, it's just that I unfortunately understand neither of those languages and hearing them sing such meaningful words in a language I understand is special ok?) Then following Young K's strong part we have Wonpil come in with a softer sound while the instrumental in the back is still killing it and the contrast of Wonpil's voice with Young K's is just beautiful. There is a soft, smooth and light quality to his voice that sharply contrasts the next part coming in... Speaking of which Sungjin BLASTS in after the soft bit with such powerful raw emotion it's painful in the most beautiful way. These guys know each others strong points and how to use them. They amplify those points and make them stand out. They are musical geniuses. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk

A spin on quintessential Day6 sound! The guys composed half English and half Japanese. Somehow it doesn’t sound weird when sung. I can clearly distinguish English and Japanese (improvement on enounciation and pronounciation). The lengthened drum driven prelude is a great touch because it is different than their older songs and let Dowoon shine. I also appreciate the standing members surrounding Dowoon for a change (he can’t hide behind them this time). Sungjin must have been working on his falsetto head voice to contrast his gravellish rocker chest voice. Somehow it reminds me a little of Freddie Mercury’s rocker to operatic falsetto transition. YoungK’s chest to head voice change is even better here, losing no power when he climbed up the octave. Both Jae and Wonpil sounded better than ever, too (the vocal control seems to get better). These boys have been singing non stop for close to 18 months since Every Day 6. The hard work does pay dividend. Guys, don’t neglect on vocal care. You don’t want any vocal cord polyps to happen.

"Operatic falsetto" is an oxymoron because Opera doesn't make use of falsettos as they are disconnected sound and don't project over the orchestra. And Brian didn't do any head voice here, it was a heady mixed voice.

day6's japanese songs need to be more appreciated, seriously
First, one just gets lost in the music, second melts in the melody and last, just drowns in the vocals.
Day6 has that quality, that everytime you listen to a particular song, you hear unnoticed beats and chords, idk if others feel the same too. Day6 always steal my heart. The emotions, the lyrics the music, it is just a perfect piece of Art. I love you 😭

I feel like as I listen to kpop more and more this year, I feel less impressed with what I’m seeing. But Day6 keeps impressing me, I loved I Need Somebody and I really love their albums as a whole. They show that you don’t need to dance or have muscles to be a good artist, all you need is your instruments and each other to make great music. JYP outta be proud of these boys, they’re so talented they need the love and support

Jae starting this with a strong vocal part. I love him and his Korean but I *melt* at the English bits ok? He sounds so so good starting it off. It's a mix of power and breathy-ness that he naturally has in his singing. Jae's voice is so good for beginning parts. I don't know why, I just love his voice in the beginning.
Then Young K blasts in with a powerful part that fits his vocals so well. He sounds so strong and it sounds amazing and it's in English too so I'm kinda melting a bit cause I love them singing in English for some reason.
(side note: this doesn't mean I dislike them singing in Korean or Japanese, it's just that I unfortunately understand neither of those languages and hearing them sing such meaningful words in a language I understand is special ok?)
Then following Young K's strong part we have Wonpil come in with a softer sound while the instrumental in the back is still killing it and the contrast of Wonpil's voice with Young K's is just beautiful. There is a soft, smooth and light quality to his voice that sharply contrasts the next part coming in...
Speaking of which Sungjin BLASTS in after the soft bit with such powerful raw emotion it's painful in the most beautiful way.
These guys know each others strong points and how to use them. They amplify those points and make them stand out. They are musical geniuses.

A spin on quintessential Day6 sound! The guys composed half English and half Japanese. Somehow it doesn’t sound weird when sung. I can clearly distinguish English and Japanese (improvement on enounciation and pronounciation).
The lengthened drum driven prelude is a great touch because it is different than their older songs and let Dowoon shine. I also appreciate the standing members surrounding Dowoon for a change (he can’t hide behind them this time).
Sungjin must have been working on his falsetto head voice to contrast his gravellish rocker chest voice. Somehow it reminds me a little of Freddie Mercury’s rocker to operatic falsetto transition. YoungK’s chest to head voice change is even better here, losing no power when he climbed up the octave. Both Jae and Wonpil sounded better than ever, too (the vocal control seems to get better). These boys have been singing non stop for close to 18 months since Every Day 6. The hard work does pay dividend. Guys, don’t neglect on vocal care. You don’t want any vocal cord polyps to happen.

"Operatic falsetto" is an oxymoron because Opera doesn't make use of falsettos as they are disconnected sound and don't project over the orchestra. And Brian didn't do any head voice here, it was a heady mixed voice.
