Ona nigdy się do zera nie rozładuje, w pewnym momencie auto zaczyna działać jak "zwykła" hybryda czyli odzyskuje energię z hamowania i zaraz ją oddaje, odzyskuje i oddaje (oczywiście wiem że jak bateria jest mocno doładowana to rekuperacja również ma miejsce). Ciekawe czy na takiej rozładowanej baterii spalanie jest przykładowo na poziomie 8l/100km czy może 11l/km. Jednak masa jest spora, zauważalnie większa od zwykłej hybrydy. Pozdrawiam
Don't use the ECO mode, it works backwards on the Toyota hybrids, the fuel consumption goes up instead of down... Normal or sport while driving norlally is the best way to go and get maximum efficienty.
I did so far 60kkm on Prius Prime and ECO is more efficient however is less responsive. In ECO cars is more kin to stay in EV loner and more often. NORMAL is best to drive and also very efficient. Funny to say that if you drive more dynamic it recups more energy tho it is very efficient in faster driving.
@@MrWawer incorrect with the Highlander. Eco mode saves gas by re mapping the throttle response so it is less sensitive to your input therefore using the need for the gas engine less. It also puts the HVAC into an economy mode using less electricity and putting less strain on the battery. I work fir Toyota and also own/drive a 2021 Highlander hybrid and always get better mileage (1 to 2 mpg) in eco mode
After 3 years of driving the Highlander, I can assure you that the sport mode saves more fuel than eco mode. It appears that the electric motor provides more support during acceleration than in eco mode. In this way, acceleration is faster, while fuel savings are greater.
Our 2021 Highlander hybrid xle can't sustain EV mode nearly as long as you're showing but it's been really cold here with the heat blasting since we bought it. I'm hoping we can replicate what you get in more ideal conditions.
Interesting to see how temperature needle moving while ICE is off and hvac working to keep cabin warm :) seems at -10C hybrid will have to keep engine working most of time.
Would appreciate if you do more highway consumpution tests, most people drive 80-120km/ h reguraly and here in Finland, we have much better city traffic than yours

First: it was 40-65 because the trip took place mostly in a cities. Second: it was not range test. I was checking if Toyota tells the truth about 1 l/100 km.

Drove 100km on the highway, average speed 90km/h and consumption 8.2l on Highlander hybrid. Driving at speeds 100-150km/h. On the Kia Sportage 1.6 crdi 6MT I had about 7 liters under similar driving conditions. But Toyota heavier for 500-600kg. I think its good results. If you drove at 90-120km/h I think 7l its real.
Please make a similar test drive on a highway; in Poland it would be at speed in area of 140km/h . Would be also great to learn about the noise ina cabin not to mention road handling properties at higher speeds
This is confusing to me, I watched a video and they said the EV only mode on the highlander hybrid can be measured in yards not miles. They said it was good for a loop around the parking lot but the battery is so small that it can’t go far. I need to watch this again but was all of this driving on battery alone or was the gas engine use for part of this test? How big is the battery in this hybrid?
I think your confusion comes from two different situations: 1st is when you want to drive in EV mode at once (for example around the parking), and the 2nd one is when you count the sum of all distances when you was driving in EV mode during whole trip. Watch carefully this movie and I think you will understand what I want to say :)

@@1001cars Obliczyłbym to tak: Jeśli pełna bateria to przykładowo 50km, to 1/8 baterii odpowiada 6km, a więc z przejechanych 27.7km, 6km mogło być z samej baterii, a więc realne spalanie silnika, bez użycia baterii, to: 27.7/(27.7-6)*5.6L=7.15L/100km. Mając jednak tylko taką zgrubną rozdziałkę stanu baterii (rozdzielczość 1/8), ciężko powiedzieć czy spadek był 1/8 czy tylko 1%, bo test zaczął się na krótką chwilę przed zmianą wskazania z 5/8 na 4/8. Gdzie na ekranie jest wskazanie stanu baterii? Nie mogę go odnaleźć.

A tutaj jest tylko 1.9kWh, co wg moich wyliczeń jest pojemnością wystarczającą na ...40 sekund pracy silników elektrycznych o łącznej mocy 174kW, które są w tym aucie.

I’ve heard Toyota tunes the hybrid drive differently for markets outside of the USA. In other words foreign markets get better performing vehicles.
