Wow thanks for the great song, I was born in Wairoa 63 years ago but unfortunately only spent 3 years there before my family moved. It still holds that very special place in my heart as my birth place :-) thanks again for bringing me back home for awhile.
Love this song gives me the feels every time I listen born there raised in Dunedin spent all my summers as a kid in wairoa either on Apatu st kiwi rd or kitchener the old town baths 50c entry fee oslers for a feed took two of my Aussie babies back there loved it
I'm a very proud Wahine born & raised in Wairoa, it's my home even though my parents bought us to Perth Western Australia I've never forgotten my home❤❤ I came home 2yrs this September coming & it's still the most prettiest little town🥰🥰😍😍 Thank you, I won't get home sick now❤ Many Blessings💖💖💖
uggggggh i love this song so much. this could be the biggest national anthem for new zealanders. if the people of wairoa are happy to share this song with the rest of nz and change wairoa to aotearoa just for the world cup. eeeeevery kiwi would be singing this tune especially the ones that live overseas. and air new zealand using this song in their ads to get us to visit home more often. dont take it the wrong way i just think its the coolest song Thanks for the mean song 💯
Awesome Kiri Gilbert for a stunning waiata called Wairoa we call home. With the great musicians and singers, you have put us on the international stage once again. Well done!!
Me and my brother are in this video and we are very proud, especially since we're from Wairoa. I appear at 2:01 to 2:05. I'm the boy in the background waving to another camera. My brother appears at the school part.
I was born in Wairoa almost 45yrs ago... only lived there 3yrs of my life but always used to visit as my grandparents lived there along with other whanau members, and i still have family living there. my Grandfather was Owen O'sullivan he was kinda like the local icon of the town always helping people out on his CB Radio and my nana Brida always doing her work for the church and red cross etc,
Thank you so much! I'm proud of everyone's achievements to bind together as one. Discovering this waiata alone has reinforced my dreams! I love you all! Mama was born here in 1952. She wants to move back home to Wairoa. I sent her a message on Facebook tagged in this link to this video. Inspiring to say the least! Kia ora koutou katoa! I'm prouder now after this discovery! So #NicholsonwhanaumohakaTangoioraukawaTumataroa!
