    Tungsten was discovered in Spain, by Juan José and Fausto de Elhuyar, two brothers, and was called Wolfram, by the mineral from which they extracted it. The name "wolframite" is derived from German "wolf rahm", name given by Johan Gottschalk Wallerius in 1747, which derives from "Lupi spuma", the name Georg Agricola used for the mineral in 1546, which translates into English as "wolf's froth" or "wolf's cream", a reference to the large amounts of tin consumed by the mineral during its extraction, the phenomenon being likened to a wolf eating a sheep, hence that 'W'.

    "it's maybe hundred grams, I wish I had a scale." Man, do you even know what you bought? It's right in the ilustrated handbook that the Tungsten (Wolfram) is 60g and the Stainless Steel one is 28g, half the weight.

    The troll that was so into that piece of a spear that stabbed Hell Boy can probably explain all of it. Tungsten however was a term that we use a lot from a photography class describing a light source of an amber color while looking at a visible spectrum chart. I wasn't aware that tunsten was actually an element.

    • @jasmine2501
      @jasmine2501  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@joevalenzuela9443 it's because tungsten was used in the Edison light bulb, and it produces a specific mix of frequencies depending on temperature of the bulb. The 5000K, 8000K, or whatever you use for white balance, is simply the Kelvin temperature of a tungsten filament which produces that color. It ranges from a dull amber to pure white.

    The W-thing is actually a pretty funny story. Around the time when the element was analysed and discovered, a swede named Carl Wilhelm Scheele called it "Tungsten" (which means "heavy rock" in Swedish) because of its high density. The name spread to other countries, including USA (of course). Later, the vast majority of countries instead adopted the german name, "Wolfram", which describes how the metal reacts with molten tin (in a "wolflike fashion", that it), and that's why W is the symbol for Tungsten.

      Education builds on knowledge from several spheres which then help you infer information from the world and progress further. And the more knowledge you have, the better your inferences will be (also more grounded) hence, assisting with your reasoning being more grounded and hence your decisions being more correct and you being more successful.

    when I spin a top, it starts spinning stable but then constantly travels in a certain direction, (i think it might be towards me from where I spun it form)
    so if i do it on a table for example...it just slowly glides towards the edge of the table and usually as a result it doesn't do a full spin till it dies on its own because it ends up either hitting something or I have to stop it before it falls
    any idea why ? is it the way I spin it ?

    • @jasmine2501
      @jasmine2501  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is just from spinning it on a flat surface that isn't level. That is why most of us use a concave mirror or lense. Look for a makeup mirror with 3X magnification - higher magnifications will have too much curve. I also really like using a concave lense with focal length between 30mm and 50mm.

    • @keithbeckett1349
      @keithbeckett1349 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks, I suspected it might be from a none level surface, as I was actually able to get it to spin 'still' on a different surface.
      I will look into getting a lens, so even if the lens is placed on a surface that isn't level... the concave shape keeps it centered or whatever ?

    • @jasmine2501
      @jasmine2501  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The top will try to fall into the lowest spot on the surface. As long as that low spot is within the edge of the mirror, then you're good. You can also shim a mirror easier than leveling a table. You can move it around too, so your tops don't grind into the same spot all the time. If your top is harder than the mirror, like a ruby bearing top on an acrylic mirror, then the top will grind the mirror. That is better than the mirror grinding the top, because mirrors are easier to replace. The community is starting to use non-glass surfaces more often these days - ceramics, acrylic, even polished wood!

      Since acquiring the Tungsten ForeverSpin top one week ago, I have been able to reach a spinning duration of over eight and a half minutes straight. Not everyone will be equipped with the right mindset to adhere to my extreme training regime; carefully designed with nothing less than absolute victory in mind.
      There's more than one way to reach the gong. Yes. To each his own. My motivation was very different from jasmine2501's. My motivation was to be the best; to be the greatest spinner alive as I always have been. Until Kakarot came into the picture that is. Kakarot's success was like a demon in my head. How could he be a super spinner, when I, the prince of all spinners could not?
      The intensity of my training was maddening. At 450 times normal gravity, a basic training game became a desperate struggle for survival. Even the simplest moves required every ounce of willpower I had. I wasn't sure how long I could sustain the effort without breaking in two. It seemed like the only thing holding my body together was my one desire; to be better than Kakarot.
      At times I thought I was losing my mind. Why couldn't I obtain what Kakarot obtained? It didn't make sense. It was infuriating, and it was my fury that kept me alive. I decided to continue my training in the solitude of space, where I would be unhindered by the distractions of the Earth. And when a violent electrical storm erupted in the skies of the planet I was on, I welcomed it, it seemed fitting, like it was an outward manifestation of the storm that was raging inside of me. Then the meteors started coming down, but I was determined to survive and also protect my ship from destruction. It was my only way out, my only way off that nightmarish heap of rubble. I thought I had everything under control, but then, the mother of all meteors seemed to appear out of nowhere, to claim my ship, and my life.
      Normally it would have been child's play to blow up that rock, but after training in 450 times normal gravity for so long, it took everything I had and more. Then something just snapped, something inside of me. I didn't care anymore, I didn't care about being better than Kakarot. I didn't care about being a super spinner, I didn't care if I lived, I didn't care about anything, and then, it happened. Yes, that's how it happened. That's how I became a super spinner.
      The sleeper has awakened. I am the prince of all spinners once again!
