This is not only a major loss to CN fans but also Animation fans and workers. Their work is being lost for what purpose. Cartoon Network has top tier shows and comedy and it's a shame WBD is taking it away. I'm in the middle of watching both Courage and Samurai Jack and loving both equally. I just hope someway those cartoon shows end up on hulu at least. That or prime. Warner Bros has truly fallen from grace all thanks to Mr.Zaslav
Perhaps that's his endgame: getting it on Prime after he sells Warner Bros. Discovery to Amazon. That, I would accept. It means the reunion of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's entire film library. Quite a good late-centennial present if he actually does plan on selling.
It's a shame how many of CN's BEST shows are being gatekept to the digital purchase only limbo. At this point, the closest thing we can have to the glory days of Max is if you spend an entire life saving's worth on Prime Video.
This whole thing reminds me of how before 1978, the BBC would sometimes “wipe” or destroy past content from the archives to make room for newer content. This practice was unfortunately quite common in the 1960s, and is the main reason why several episodes of some of the BBC’s longest-running shows, such as Doctor Who, are lost media. (And even then, not everything they wiped or destroyed is lost media, some people managed to salvage some of their content through broadcast masters from overseas or telerecordings.) Around 1978, when videotaped masters became to be more common, the BBC stopped the wiping practice. Nowadays, Max (and to a lesser extent, Paramount+ since they just removed some more Nick content last week) is doing something similar, removing content, possibly because they don’t think it’s valuable enough or the rights to stream it expired and they were too cheap to renew them. Of course, not everything they removed is lost media, since some shows were released on DVD, other services like Prime Video and Apple TV, and piracy.

You should clarify that this *_only_* applies to the U.S. version of Max. Latin America still has most of the shows that were (or are getting) pulled from the U.S. version of Max, while Europe's Max library doesn't even have any actual retro CN shows to begin with aside from season 1 of the 2005 _Ben 10_ (but at least has modern CN shows that were pulled from the U.S. version of Max).
But my question is why? Why Max (Warner) is deleting JUST cartoon Network content? Like, are any more shows or movies that dont do well? Because it looks like more like bias
Not only removing shows from MAX, Today they Delisted Cartoon Network Video Games for Steven Universe, OK K.O., Adventure Time, & Samurai Jack from Digital Stores like Steam & eShop 😓
Physical releases will only be sought after by the generations that grew up with them. We need younger generations to have much easier access to these shows, so that these shows won't be forgotten in the year 2100 when all of us are gone.
If you're gonna remove ben 10 from HBO Max, At least release the series on high bitrate bluray with the errors fixed and surround sound and upscale the blue and gold versions of secret of the omnitrix in 1080p widescreen.
Streaming was never profitable for most services. Netflix and Hulu maintained their margins because they were the main games in town with beloved OG content. But once the pandemic was over, and each studio had their own service, they realized that now THEY had to flip the bill on streaming rights and royalties. And while Disney is big enough to eat the tens of millions they lose in Disney+ to harbor their content, WBD simply cannot. Their best bet is to fold Max, and license their content out to other services again. Most likely they will bundle in their content with Hulu given that Max has a bundle deal in the works with Hulu and Disney+.
Now that you mention it, maybe you're right. Going back to licensing to other streaming services, if it is more profitable and most likely more ethical, is definitely the way to go. Maybe it would be for the best that the Great Streaming Crash of 202X (or whenever) would occur.
It seems that cable is becoming a more appealing option now that the prices are rising, there’s too many services, limited options and unskippable ads.
It’s not that things are changing. It’s the lack of respect for the brand and the shows under its banner. WB needs new leadership that respects animation.
Can someone, for the love of GOD tell me why David Zaslav keeps thinking this is a good idea?! Like honestly, he has proven he hates animation and does not know how to run a company! Hey, assholes. We keep turning to pirating sites because you keep making dumbass decisions that drive your customers away!
It was I think the mid-2010s when my mom gifted me a portable DVD player for Xmas because she was concerned abotu my Internet habits. That thing has saved my ass so many times because I don't have to fuck with streaming or unskippable ads if I can get something I want to see (again) on DVD, either by buying it or by checking it out from the library. :)
I always wondered why I hate change. CN being scrapped for parts breaks my heart and why I have more and more grievances with streaming despite having Netflix and Amazon. The only way is like you said, support physical releases. Better said than done but that's the next best step. Its hard not to feel pessimistic and defeated by WBD but life's too short for negativity.
It's actually crazy how this was probably one of the most hectic and destructive years for WBD's properties but no one was talking about it. Like, did you guys know they're not renewing Sesame Street?
@ZeepAtomic So true, I hope one day, when Zaslav is long fired, someone makes a cartoon with a greedy entertainment CEO as the villain (Gumball movie plot perhaps?)
Darn it! I bet it was David Zaslav's idea to do this! They seriously need to fire him before he causes any more damage! As Mermaid Man would say, "He's EVIL!"
Now this is just GREAT, first, Cartoon Network is shutting down for good, and NOW HBO MAX IS DELETING CARTOON NETWORK SHOWS ONE BY ONE!!!!! Well, at least DVDs and BLU RAYS are keeping our beloved cartoon network shows alive. And it looks like I'm gonna have to get a BIG stack of cash to buy a DVD version of my favorite cartoon network show... LEGALLY.
Knowing the fact that Paramount is known for making their streaming originals available on physical media, yeah, they’re not gonna follow suit, despite some recent removals.
This is Beeg sad and super derangingly depressing😭😭 thank G for the dvd complete series box sets, 1 issue though: we don’t have enough of them for every show! Only like a third of CN’s overall lineup have some and the 1’s that don’t already have 1 need them SOON! I don’t wanna end up in a future where the only way to legally watch Cartoon Network is through illegal pirating online!💀💀💀💀
Cartoon Network is getting The Dip 😔 Just gimme a DVD box set of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy FFS! All of these shows should be available to purchase!
Yeah, but why though? It's one thing if a streaming service removes a show because it's being written off completely for a tax rebate or whatever, it's another to remove them for no good reason at all. What's the play here? New exclusive contracts with Netflix? Tubi? Hulu? Adult Swim's site/app, even? As good as physical media releases are, I can't imagine WBD is doing this to push DVD sales.

(My legal guardians buy the streaming services)
The song by Voltaire "When You're Evil" Perfectly sums up Max in this situation.
"🎵 I'm the streaming service that removes cartoons! 🎵"
Is that real?
Not only removing shows from MAX, Today they Delisted Cartoon Network Video Games for Steven Universe, OK K.O., Adventure Time, & Samurai Jack from Digital Stores like Steam & eShop 😓
I Hope Cartoon network will get justice someday
Physical releases will only be sought after by the generations that grew up with them.
We need younger generations to have much easier access to these shows, so that these shows won't be forgotten in the year 2100 when all of us are gone.
I hope we get a chance to see a Codename Kids Next Door complete series physically sometime soon, that show was legendary
Oh you do not wanna know how LONG I've been waiting for that to happen.
Peak fiction needs easy access.
Nickelodeon: Hey, Cartoon Network! Eat your heart out!

@@Sean-132 Why? Cartoon Network just bullied Nick.
@@JordantheDWandNBCfan5982 It’s disrespectful here, and nobody at Cartoon Network actually bullied anyone at Nickelodeon
@@Sean-132 But, could you find a video Cartoon Network Invaded Nickelodeon?
@@JordantheDWandNBCfan5982 You realized that just a harmless commercial? Plus, it never harmed Nickelodeon in any shape or form.
Thank god I have Ed Edd n Eddy on DVD and i'm hoping cartoon network can make a complete serious DVD set of Cow and Chicken (i miss that show a lot)
It seems that cable is becoming a more appealing option now that the prices are rising, there’s too many services, limited options and unskippable ads.
to be honest i think cartoon network should do what disney did and have their own streaming service
Welp time to get the pirate hat out
We're gonna play like kids?
@@diegcon0Nah lad, we be going plunderin' on the waves of th' web. Stealin' content that corp'rates keep hidd'n.

Ayy captain I agree matey 🦜
It’s not that things are changing. It’s the lack of respect for the brand and the shows under its banner. WB needs new leadership that respects animation.
Can someone, for the love of GOD tell me why David Zaslav keeps thinking this is a good idea?! Like honestly, he has proven he hates animation and does not know how to run a company! Hey, assholes. We keep turning to pirating sites because you keep making dumbass decisions that drive your customers away!
Zaslav is an idiot!
Vailksi's first sponsor! (Probably)
Back to physical collecting!
Oh, and I was never subscribed to HBO Max.
2:11 courage: please don't cancel us me and the Powerpuff girls are all that's left we are your only hope
Gumball:BRO WHEN WILL I GET MY MOVIE
"The things I do for reruns!"
My family recently got a New DVD player because of all the content that was either being deleted, moved or hard time finding, I’m glad we got it
It was I think the mid-2010s when my mom gifted me a portable DVD player for Xmas because she was concerned abotu my Internet habits.
I think people should preserve every CN show. Old included.
Now I want Ed Edd n Eddy on netflix
I got the full complete DVD set for Ed Edd n Eddy from Walmart a while back
I heard they don’t have the 4 specials or the Big Picture Show
@@ultimatesaku9303 No fooling? I didn't see that.
It's tough being a Cartoon Network fan...
Hopefully something changes for the better sooner rather than later...
When will you learn, David?! When will you learn that your actions have consequences?!
If they dare remove Courage the Cowardly Dog on Max, I'm going to lose it!
It's actually crazy how this was probably one of the most hectic and destructive years for WBD's properties but no one was talking about it. Like, did you guys know they're not renewing Sesame Street?
How EVIL do you have to be to try and cancel Sesame Street?
It's like they WANT kids' brains to fry on iPads!
@ZeepAtomic So true, I hope one day, when Zaslav is long fired, someone makes a cartoon with a greedy entertainment CEO as the villain (Gumball movie plot perhaps?)
WHAT?!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY cancelling the longest running kids show for no reason?!
Sesame Street is getting cancelled?
Their contract with the show is expiring and Sesame Workshop is trying to find a new distributor.
When I went to Mexico where all my family lives Max over there they have them all
They need to unmerge WBD and fire that ceo
1:46 Opera Gx sponsor skip btw, you're welcome
This is why I’ve asked for complete series on DVDs again
I hate to say this but it looks like Cartoon Network could be at death’s door very soon and thing are looking very grim unfortunately. :(
Darn it! I bet it was David Zaslav's idea to do this! They seriously need to fire him before he causes any more damage! As Mermaid Man would say, "He's EVIL!"
us max deleting cartoon network:
latam max adding spongebob (seasons 1 to 5):
How come OUR Max in the US is constantly starved while LA Max is still eating good?
To quote Fender from Robots
“I think that’s already been established”
Even Paramount Plus removed the Nickelodeon animated series
Now this is just GREAT, first, Cartoon Network is shutting down for good, and NOW HBO MAX IS DELETING CARTOON NETWORK SHOWS ONE BY ONE!!!!!
Well, at least DVDs and BLU RAYS are keeping our beloved cartoon network shows alive. And it looks like I'm gonna have to get a BIG stack of cash to buy a DVD version of my favorite cartoon network show... LEGALLY.
I feel ya man, I actually found a complete DVD set for Ed Edd n Eddy and Looney Toons at Walmart a while back!
Paramount And Netflix Are Also Doing That To Their Shows And Movies
I Wish It Could Stop
In this world, there are two choices...
Pirating or DVDs
I hope Paramount and Nickelodeon isn't next.
Well, isn’t that an *extreme* bummer! 😮
But you unfortunately can’t argue with the times. 😢
Oh, but you can! We're in charge of what's popular & acceptable, not the corporate big-shots. Simply stop giving them money, & things will get better!
Soo, anyone else agree that David has no idea what he’s doing, and he just assumes that deleting history doesn’t make you look more brain dead?
OK K.O needs to get a DVD release considering that there’s only 1 DVD here in America and not the whole series
Cartoon Network is getting The Dip 😔 Just gimme a DVD box set of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy FFS! All of these shows should be available to purchase!
Well, Time Too Become King Of The Pirates, I Guess.
As a pretend game?
@@diegcon0 Uuuuuh, I- I Dont Think You Get It.
Yo-ho-ho, the seven seas are calling!
Things are getting bad! Removing Cartoon Network Shows from MAX. Not just Total Dramarama.
Thankfully, most of the heavy-hitting modern CN shows are on Hulu. So logically, if they can end up there, what’s stopping the classics?
R.I.P my childhood
I don’t need streaming services at this point. I have all of top cartoons on dvd now
Weirdly, here in Latam we have that and more content of CN, is like CN only have success in latam, probably because of the Dub.
eBay dvd resellers are about to get expensive I can already tell it’s gonna hell in 2025 for cartoons.
Looks like Uncle Grandpa has lost the battle :(
That stinks. I subbed because CN. They take anymore away, I'm willing to leave
