I never carried bunkers last season and I mostly play zero build too! Gonna try to start doing that. One plus is that i dont have to carry a mobility item so i have a free slot These tips are super helpful right now at the start of season 😅
I feel like this more grounded meta is much better for builds, but in zero build having mobility is more important. I can live without the travel halfway across the map items, like the ODM and webshooters, on the other hand items like the kinetic blade and shockwaves make ZB more enjoyable.
100% agree on the storms this season. Easy to get distracted and not keep up with it. Especially since I like staying along the edge of it to prevent people from coming up behind me. if you don't have med-mist or something, you're screwed. 42 yr old dad that plays with his 3 kids

My theory is they intended to carry the katana over to this season but didn't due to last season's bug and therefore didn't. In some quests (very minor spoiler for a few quests) they say they are mining kinetic ore for some types of weapons. I think that the boomerang through the season will receive some of this "ore" and it turns into mobility. Primary and secondary fire both explode it. Makes sense one of those becomes the teleport option if that's the case. And why would Epic put all the Katana spawns/temples and the dragon in Mega (only reachable by Katana at start of season) then just drop the Katanas for good. And have NO mobility. Every season since like Chapter 3 has had mobility. I think they just fudged up the Katana and are riding no mobility until they can put it in like they planned (boomerang or perhaps something else). I think many people think it was intentional to have no mobility. I don't think that's the case at all. Just an oopsie.
Yeah, unlike everyone else I thought I was being a genius and everyone was using the boomerang wrong, so when I finally got on and tried it I threw it at the ground the see if it would bounce me and to my amazement it didn't and 😢. Anyways yeah definitely agree with you, and just wanted to share my experience and thoughts about the boomerang.
@@joseph7105 hopefully soon. Having wildlife back is nice but they’re such a dead giveaway to your position when they’re just roaming around you when you’re just tryna scope out an area. And they’re useless once stamina is out
You're right jake, i hadnt played with the combat when it was first in the game. but i played with it a bunch during creative matches, the combat aim assist is almost nonexistent, even close range with hip fire. its horrible but its still a decent weapon.

I'm having fun with this season so far, after a learning curve. Used 'EvolveJake' for my battle pass buy. I'm hanging out in the jungle for a good chunk of the game (lots of mobility built into the environment), carrying bunkers. Loving the drum shotty and actually the thermal DMR to just be able to see faster. Only played solo zero build so far, but the splash plants in the jungle are team heals. Also, throw a teammate an extra heal if they need it.
There have been similar seasons in the past. I feel like it’s another move by epic so that once they bring mobility back, it’ll make it that much better
I feel like, if they didn't give us Mobility when Zero Build came out, our approach to Fights in Zero Build would be Similar to if we were Playing Warzone or PUBG where it's about the ranged fights rather than the Close quarter fights.

Maybe it was a bug, but it seems like storm has changed. I was rotating with my trio while in storm (2 tick), but while I was using a Medkit I just instant died when I was still over 20 hp. Don’t know if it somehow jumped to a 10 or 20 tick, or if it was storm sickness and I just didn’t receive any warning.
It happened for my first win of the season ! I won and, not knowing what happened to my opponent, I checked the replay. He was behind me but the storm started moving and on the first second he spent it in, storm sickness came and he went from 100 to 0 health ... -_-
Yep had that happen to me aswell went to take a slurp juice went from 29 health to 0. I think storm sickness hits after you have lost a certain amount of health in storm. So if you are in 1 or 2 tick storms looting up eventually it gets to a certain point and it drops you. Odd but not sure if bug or not.
Literally didn’t do shit yesterday but as soon as I watch this I get my first dub. The drum is GREAT BUT I honestly think the heisted maven is pretty damn close to the mythic drum if not it better but tbh I’ve only used the mythic drum once.
I had a solo game at the end in mega city and a guy starting shooting at me so i threw down a bunker and it really helped me out pretty sure he had a legendary or mythic drum shotty and i won with the exotic maven i was 8hp at the end
Got my first win and crown win of this season today. Drum shotgun helped with both but also using vehicles for mobility. You can fairly quickly get to a fight and third party or escape a poor position. Lack of mobility works both ways though. If you can get a quick kill you're less likely to be third partied by someone coming in. I'm currently not particularly playing to win but exploring all the map to get everything in cache. Right now any area I've not previously visited is jerky and laggy as hell, even those from last season. This seems to be fixed after a few visits though.
Vaults+Rift in the game make sure I won't be playing that often at all. Just logged in to play solos, killed few people, rotated to vault area, and one player was hiding in the building while i was opening the vault and sprayed me while I had augment window open. Instantly closed the game. No thank you.
Returning after 10 weeks off. I stopped due to multiple frustrations. This season seems to have rectified the problems. Enjoying so far. Nice to be back, AND checking your vids once again!
You’re so right about the bunkers, I won a match because I carried them with me. 😊 I really like that fish that gives you X-ray vision, it’s a decent alternative if you don’t have the DMr or the skill.

Hey Jake am a huge fan. You did a video on close range fighting tips and it helps a lot so I was wondering if you will do a medium to long range fighting tips. I have been losing a lot of red eye fights. I don't know what am doing wrong.
I had the expectation that this season would be great but i think a few bp cosmetics are the only reason i wanna play this season as of now. I do like Creeky Compound since there are like 3 trucks and like holo chests near by and idk if the raptor eggs consistently spawn at the same location but i find those around there too.
I like your take on letting some kills go to keep better positioning for yourself. I always want to thirst the kill and that ends badly for me half the time.

Definitely people need to do more ghost recon on their strat and be payient. They want sniping and vine battles and stuff. mobility will come back in a few weeks people should work on their mid range skills and jungle warfare. I was easily ghosting people with canopy and cover. 😂
With the island and someone is up kn the roof, i died to someone when it came in and they grabbed my optimus mytic and started shooting at the building from a far since the projectile doesn't drop off(i just thought that was smart )
Bro Fortnite needs to calm down with those late game circle pulls. They still think we have mobility. I spend most of my late game running and getting shot in the back rather than fighting. I have won 3 or 4 games where all the opponents died in the storm. Its such a different game now, especially with the ridiculous elevation differences of the new biome

And now we're trying to out run the Storm while the team that has no kills are sitting pretty in the circle and just have to put a few shots into us as were battling the storm. They win. Stupid asf
I am incredibly frustrated and upset that the new season of Fortnite lacks any mobility items. It hampers the fluidity and excitement of gameplay, leaving me feeling constrained and dissatisfied.
At least in builds you can build a ramp.. try running around a mountain or finding your way out of the jungle in the storm in no builds, near impossible
The thing that sucks this season is the xp farm yall remember last season it was 75 thousand now its 80 thousand which is annoying I'm barely on level 9 with all myquest done
This season launch has been a massive letdown..... I have no clue what to do with my loadout..... Red eye and heavy sniper are the cornerstone of my game, and i'm pretty lethal with both, but i used combat shotty last season to compensate that, since it had decent range and didnt need follow-up weapon..... This season i have absolutely nothing.... Pump is great but then i need smg and i have no room for port a bunkers
Without mobility, the augment Soaring Sprints is extremely helpful to me.

Also combat smg and havoc pump compared to a drum shotgun havoc pump and combat smg is faster for getting kills

what ive been doing is sometimes carrying 2 smgs and no shotty, very rarely does that distance in fights get close past early game
