"The Bible is full of contradictions". Me: "The Bible consists of 66 separate documents. Let's say each document has one contradiction. That's 66 contradictions altogether. Show me 10% of them - say 7 contradictions - and we'll take them one at a time". Usually, people making this blanket accusation haven't a clue what's really in the Bible.
I like that simile, "You can't have shadows without (sun) light. People doing wrong scurry out of the light into the shadows so their wrongs aren't exposed.
Someone said something that made a good point. Our faith techinally isn't in the Bible its in Jesus and His resurrection. That's really all that matters for the Christian faith. So even if they're are contractions it still doesn't mean the reserruction is false.
(English isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes). I don't know if I agree with you that this is a good point. Sure, or faith is in Jesus, that He is God and He ressurected. But 2 problems on not correlate the Bible with Jesus. First, more basic, is that the Bible is the source. Whitout the Bible, we can't have a solid base on our belief. The Holy Word, inspired by God show us the truth and the way, so we are able to know more of God, and what to do to make Him happy. Today, we can't go to somewhere to see by ours eyes Jesus on the cross. So, God in His perfect ways, gave us the Bilbe, to show us, a lot of years in the future, the same exact moment. The other problem is that God wants us to know more about him, through the Bible. Like is said in Mateus 5:17-18. Jesus came to complete the Law. He Is the way, the truth and the life, as said in John 4:6. So, I hope you understand my point. Any doubts ou something to add, I am here to try to help!
@@mateusdeoliveirazaccaro9800 I agree. Our faith in the Bible needs to be equal or greater than our faith in God, because we need to keep going to the source. When we turn from the Bible to God, then we naturally turn to our understanding of God, which is almost always inadequate.
I just wanna know because I don’t know. If Jesus died for all of our sins does that mean the ones who didn’t sell their soul still go to heaven and be forgiven for the wrong did on earth
@@PlutoGotRangz everyone starts in the kingdom of darkness by default. Jesus Died, to take our place. Those who accept Him get freed from the sin and death Law. Those who don't accept Him, remain in their darkness. And at the final Court Room, Jesus will divide the believers and teh unbelievers. The believers will enter His Kingdom as royal family. (Heaven) The unbelievers will be separated out away from God. (Hell).
Thank you for this! I agree. I have been leaning into the idea that we shouldn't try act as if there is a logical way to make each variant fit perfectly.
Yes it is if you don’t rightly divide the word of truth. I know you’re talking about the gospels, but I’m talking about the entire bible. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 There’s what God has done, is doing and will do. If you can study scripture, then there is a structure to it and if there is structure, then why is the church so conflicted on some of the most basic doctrines? I would state it’s because most churches don’t even teach this, which is why there is so much confusion about what God said in His word.
Alleged contradictions in the Bible did not concern me until I learned about Judas' death in Matthew vs Acts. Not just the way he died but the circumstances around it, the tone, the surrounding story. The way that apologists go about explaining Judas' death makes it seem like their commitment to a contradiction-free Bible is more important than discovering what the Bible is saying. It made me realize that I had a prior commitment about what the Bible is before reading most of it, and I had to decide how open I would be to different authors having different beliefs. Not that I should go looking for disagreements in the text but that I wouldn't look away from the possibility. I figured, this is exactly the sort of thing that would count as a contradiction if it appeared in any other religion's holy book.
It's not though. Both parts are true. He hanged himself, and fell down and his entrails burst open. If you approach the Bible as "AND details", instead of "OR details", you'll understand it better.
This shows your lack of understanding. If some one hangs him self on a Cliff and made it for 2 days there, why would you not assume that the body will decay and the cliff might fall after 2 days. No wonder he will fall. I dont have a good grammar but i hope you understand me
Matthew 27:24 and Mark15:32 Says that the criminals crucified with Jesus both mocked him. Yet Luke 23:39-43 Says one criminal mocked him, but the other one rebuked him and asked Jesus to remember him when he goes into his kingdom, and Jesus replied " I assure you and most solemnly say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise" Is this not a contradiction? I am reading the bible on my own and these sort of things are kind of confusing to me. I want to know God but these things are confusing me and frustrating me. Not criticizing just looking for answers.
Its not about actions u can try ur hardest to impress god with niceness but if its not genuinely in ur heart hes gonna vomit u up and spit u out for beginners and after he does that theres no telling what hes capable of doing to halfway non believers.🙏💙🌎💯
You know that and I know that but an atheist already doesn't believe that. God cannot lie. Part of our job when explaining/defending the gospel is to make the case for why it's God's word not only asserting that it is. When it comes to apparent contradictions it isn't that I don't notice them or ignore them but I wrestle and search till I understand. Every time I have dug deeper I have discovered that it isn't in fact a contradiction but that the person I'm talking to hasn't dug deep enough or is only using this objection to tear down my faith. Sometimes it's hard to tell when someone has an honest objection. With patience and research these can be resolved.

Great video. Variations, not contradictions.
No contradictions, reasonable variations, yes.

This would mean God is not the real author of the Bible, if it’s God’s word it cannot contradict itself
