No matter how many lanes wide, it remains a parking lot in the morning and the evening. Have to imagine a lot of angry drivers waiting. Police should have let them at the perp. Situation would have been over in a few minutes.

If you watch other videos with helicopter footage you will see there were THREE armored SWAT vehicle with a half-dozen guys in body armor. And I counted at least 22 other Police and CHP vehicles. This was absurd and incredibly wasteful. One other poster said the delays affected people for 5 hours.

This is the obvious problem with LE in California. Most southern States, particularly Oklahoma and Arkansas, a single State Trooper would have pitted (TVI) this vehicle and had the offender in cuffs, or shot him if he brandished a gun, in 5 minutes.

I was on the 91 E as they started closing the freeway and it was terrible. Left my house at 8:15 to go to riverside and didn’t get there til 1
