also side note: my mum was not keen to cut this style as she was worried about the fringe and the thinness at the bottom of my hair. I basically bullied her into it, so extra shoutout to my mum plz 😭💜
It looks great! And amazing how your hair looks when just washed without styling with this cut! The fringe will improve by itself cause you parted your hair for years before. It always does that when you forst cut a fringe. After like 2 weeks or so it will fall more naturally to the front
My hair sat fine after cutting bangs and giving my hair a wash. I have wavy hair and a cowlick at the front too so they aren’t the most well-behaved in general, but like I said- sat fine after a wash. Just brush when wet and there shouldn’t be a need for heat if you do it correctly
Honestly loved the blow dry the most? Like it wasn't perfect, especially the slightly weird curl in/curl out layers, but your mum nailed the fringe area. Like NAILED it.
It's so crazy how much hair changes not just the looks, but the entire vibe of the face. From the side and back, the new style looks great with all the layers. The first one made you look much brighter/awake however. I guess the second one might feel more laidback or you, I suppose.
The same rules apply for sunglasses. Some sunglasses look better on some people than they do on others, and it's all because of face shape. If your face is not balanced (I have a wide forehead) then what you wear should be designed to balance the rest of your face. Otherwise, you won't look as good as you could.
Just a little advice for people looking for their face shape - go with the kibby style essences. They don't use some random shapes, but rather the proportions of the face and the sharpness of it, to determine what would best excentuate it's good fitures. Best of luck!
I’d put down money that she’s a flamboyant gamine so tbh the haircut recommendation is shockingly almost identical to the one suggested. She MIGHT grow into a soft natural with time but definitely a LOT of gamine influence with flamboyant/dramatic angular narrowness and oblong shapes in her face and frame
You look great! I just have one tip: Try cutting the fringe shorter, so they lay right above the eyebrows. It will put more emphasis on your eyes (which are beautiful btw) rather than the middle part of your face. The TH-cam channel ‚Dear peachie‘ did a great video on fringes. It has helped me a lot deciding the right fringe style.
You look great queen!! For the style and shape for body to clothing, I think as long as you’re confident in the outfit or hair you’ll look good, I think some clothing can help “flaunt” or accentuate your shape which is cool but there’s no need to!
I’m a hairstylist and I don’t think there are perfect hairstyles for each face shape but I definitely think you can tailor any haircut to be flattering based on the person’s natural features. I’m obsessed with the layers on you, they bring out your cheekbones!!
The natural style on this cut looks soooo good on you! The blow out did age you, but the 'just woke up and quickly shook my hair around' vibe looks great, effortless and youthful! I think your mom did a great job with the cut!
Straight iron the bangs, leave the rest natural. A quick easy solution when you have a cowlick right in the front and want your bangs to not part where you dont want them to. Its something I have to do myself, and totally recommend. I think the style looks great on you. .
Definitely oblong face (love this face shape), the haircut suits you! I think once you find different ways to style your bangs and have fun with it you will enjoy it even more! It's a fun and fresh haircut. I think layers really work well on you (maybe I would need them myself because I struggle with volume). Honestly you gave me courage to try a little bit of bangs, I was thinking about it and maybe (pray all gods but especially the hair ones) it will suit me
I had layers for a long while, and needed them! I wanted long hair but it was a lot t9 maintain all that hair. I went opposite of bangs (which I had as a child) and got and undercut. Which is still a pain to get it buzzed often enough, but it made the length and volume so much easier to maintain. Only thing I miss is having more hair for certain hair styles.
I think this length is perfect on you! ✨ Personally, I would recommend trying a curtain bang! I think it would blend seamlessly with the rest of the cut😊 But honestly you’d look beautiful with any cut! ✨
The new cut looks great! It's playful and bouncy and very cute. Your long hair suited you too but it's lovely you've donated the length you cut off. Ultimately the best style for you (or anyone) is whatever gives you the most confidence and makes you feel good!
You are absolutely kidding me if you don't think I'm gonna drop everything every time there is a hair change Edit: and you look completely stunning!! I also got a shaggy cut recently and it's a head turner
I like both, your mum’s styling could be the glamorous you and yours is an everyday style. It looks good on you. I hope you are taking your vitamins and especially the vit C xx
I love the haircut! My main problem with body types/ face types is the idea that someone's natural body structure needs to be "corrected" (as if having a naturally 'apple-shaped' body is a flaw, or as if a square face 'needs' to be softened). I do feel like the longer style matched your vibe, but the cut looks amazing and is so stylish!
I have the same parting which is why I don't do fringe either, so much work! I love this, and the great thing is as your bangs grow you can style them into a more curtain bang moment and alleviate the awkward grow out. Your mum is amazing!
Aw, love the new hairstyle! You look a bit more cheeky than before but in the best way :) The entire time I thought "her face is rectangular" and then you placed the box on it xD Also, "my Mum was a hairdresser before she got her PhD" is inspiring, not gonna lie! Kisses to your Mum as well, she did great!
I was editing at the end and was like .. my face looks so much bigger - and then realised I’d filmed significantly closer to my face than I did in the first half of the video 😭 defo a big cheek moment lol. Also my mum is an icon, very proud of her 🥺
Just discovered you a few weeks ago.....binged almost every video. I'm in a treatment facility for a central nervous disorder and your videos have kept me so happy and my mind off the pain. Thank you! You are a magical fairy human ❤️❤️
Hey! My autonomic nervous system doesn’t work either!! I hope it goes well ❤️❤️❤️ I haven’t had any helpful treatment so far and am in and out of the ER often, I really hope they’re treating you well
@@gillifish spero clinic in Fayetteville Arkansas is treating me and for the first time in 15 yrs I'm regaining sensation in my hands. Check them out on IG. I hope you find some relief, this condition is f*cking awful!
After watching this, I looked up more recent videos. Wow! The cut looked great here (particularly the more 'wash and wear' version) but as the weeks pass this cut has evolved beautifully!! Like it's not in shock anymore 😁 Beautiful.
That little over the shoulder grin at 9:04 mwah! I'm glad you love the haircut Ell, cause I think it looks great on you. Consider these compliments my sacrifice to the machine.
The more styled look was nice, but I feel like the slept in look felt more you. It's good to know you can do either if you want. I don't think there's necessarily a ''best' for each face shape but hairstylists def know what will work to accentuate or hide certain features. Loving the new look!
the cut brings out the beauty of the color, When you turn to the side and back it is really stunning, The front frames your face well and a little separation of the bangs as they grow some ... maybe bangs longer of the sides to side swept or curtain bangs as they grow. I think the cut is perfect. Thanks Mum! as for face shape you can have an oval face but if you have half forehead, 2/3rds forhead or 1/3rd forehead all of those go into play. It is not just the shape but the proportion of 'face:Head'. So I totally agree with why people can get confused. Just dont be pressured.... there is no stress in trying, attempting or just doing something different for fun. The most important is to not stress, remove pressure and just enjoy what you have and what you are going to do about what you have.
I feel like letting your fringe part where it wants to can be a look too! I used to straighten my bangs and it always looked off, now I let them part when they want to and let them curl, and I feel way more comfortable with them!
Ive had a fringe for a while, so I've been able to find ways which lay it the way I like. I found using a hair roller with the hair on top curling down made my fringe rounder and kept together more. I would later start hairspraying the top and ends of the fringe to keep it together especially in the wind. I hope this can help you with your fringe journey :)
I personally don’t care too much about trying to get my hair to “match” my face shape. I’ve got something between a round and square face and from what I’ve seen, generally wearing anything too short with those shapes isn’t advised. However, after having at least mid-back length hair for most of my life, I got a bob above my shoulders and I absolutely loved it. Fast forward a few years and I got a pixie which I also love and have maintained ever since. I might be remembering some of the advice wrong though and I might actually have hair that “suits” my face now, who knows, I really didn’t feel like looking it up to confirm what I remembered.
I have the same mix of face shapes as you and am considering cutting my hair about collarbone length, so thanks for the review on your experience with shorter hair!
I have the same experience! I remember reading that, for my face shape, I should never get a pixie... but I did get one, and I loved it! If it weren't for the upkeep, I definitely would have maintained it long-term.
Honestly when you showed the inspo pics I was convinced I wouldn’t like the haircut for you but after seeing the finished product I think it looks fantastic and suits your face shape really very well! I even love the bangs on you. 🤩
I think the haircuts are both so different that they both look really great for their own reasons. I give you a lot of credit for having the courage to do this!! It turned out great for you in the end :)
Hello :) I am a makeup artist and hairstylists and I worked with countless different faces and hairstyles. Basically every face shape is a mix of different shapes. It's all about balance. I think the haircut looks great on you but I would change the full bangs to softer curtain bangs. That will also work great with the way your hair grows. Greetings from Berlin
I honestly think this length and the fringe suits you! I can imagine it doesn't feel the easiest to deal with the fringe having a cowlick right in the front but it looks really pretty anyway!
The new haircut really suits you! For the gap in the fringe I´d recommend a velcro roller on days you don´t feel like using any heat on your hair. Otherwise a flat iron really helps, as so many allready said.
You have to train your bangs to stay like that. Get a round brush and when they're wet you gotta blow dry them in the shape and then set them with cold air ❤️
I liked your long hair, but this look is also really cute, and I think it's easier to make it sophisticated looking (as in, takes less or even no effort, easier). Looks great, I am not considering something similar for my own hair. I loved having bangs/fringe as y'all say, though I also have a really strong cowlick that makes my hair part at the front kind of like Sailor Moon haha.
You can train that part to not happen with daily heat styling! Wet your fringe down from the roots everyday and blow dry out with hot air, focussing on blowing it forward and side to side ti blur the "line" of the cowlick. In time it will retrain the follicle
Your mom’s blow-dry is really nice. It sweetened your look, which I like the most here. Your original hair is like a “young-adult who doesn’t go to salon” kinda style but you also look ok in it. The latest one has random curls that make you look like a free spirit person, but your fringe without styling is too long so may be you fix that a bit and you’ll look perfect.
As someone who also has the front double cowlick and just got a fringe a few months ago, it's great when you get it if you have the time to style it but upkeep to keep it at the right length can be tedious. I loved your long hair and I also think the new cut is super cute. You went from casual chic to business chic with this cut. Also - that outfit with the white blouse looks amazing! The blow dried version of the new cut made you look like you were attempting the Rachael (think Friends) style from the 90's. I can see why you let it dry naturally!
I love the finished hairstyle so much! I'm so jealous of your natural curls😍. The shorter hair and layers makes your hair look a lot curlier because it's not being weighed down as much. Definitely 10/10 🔥 Also I'm so glad this video went up today because I was wondering about the full fringe in your no sleep stream 😂 - hope you've recovered from that by the way, cant wait for the video and the stats!😁
The short layers around the face look really nice on you. For your fringe, just blow dry that area of hair after washing to train it to lay where you want it - it will eventually get with the program.
It takes a bit of getting used to, because it's so different. But it definitely suits you! I still think that it shouldn't really matter what you do with your hair / body / clothes, as long as you like it and feel comfortable with it. After all, if anyone doesn't like it; they don't HAVE to look at it XD But there is some science behind the head / body shapes. Some features are naturally more aesthetically pleasing, and accentuating them while covering some of the other features tends to give a look that's more to 'everybody's' liking. I"ll be visiting my mother's grave tomorrow... I'll make sure to give her those kisses ;)
You look great with this haircut!!! I'd recommend blow drying it without straightening it for an extra puffiness on the roots but that's a matter of personal preference 😊 the layers do bring out your face!!
i love long hair. But your mum did a great job and it does suit your face. The blown out look she left you with would probably look great with some of the fancy wardrobe experiments from previous videos. I'm glad that even with shaping, your hair isn't exactly short, it still has a fetching amount of length to it. It is interestingto notice the interest of your childhood regarding face shapes and style happened to match your mother's interest as well.
I also recently got a fringe. I have had the same problem as you (that it parts in the middle). What helped was combing them into the front after showering, blowdrying them, styling them with a flat iron and using lots of hairspray. After a few days your hair naturally lays better and there's not a gap anymore.
Wow I think the haircut looks amazing on you! Fringes look like that on soo many people so it doesn't look strange or stand out at all, I think it looks really good on you!
This is such a cute hairstyle, I feel like it definitely matched your style too. I just got a similar haircut and love how it has shaped and took some weight off my head! It’s definitely grows on you.
You have gorgeous hair and a beautiful face so it’s to be expected that no matter what style you decide on you’ll rock it. I didn’t think you could improve on you’re look until you did this, so fresh and stylish. Well done mum!
I feel you on the parting issue. I repeatedly come back to wanting a fringe and repeatedly having it split like... 3/4 of the way across. Doesn't look bad, but not my dream bangs! :c I heard you can "train" your hair to lay differently by wetting it and blow drying every day, but honestly that's a lot of effort some days. Your hair looks lovely btw.
I totally believe that a person’s hairstyle affects how their face looks!! May face is super round, so I’ve always felt most beautiful with long, straight hair to counteract that roundness. When my hair is short with layers, it makes my face look wide and I personally think I look horrendous LOL.
I love the bangs! I used to cut my own and also have a natural part. I just embraced that open area and rather than styling a center part, I styled my hair to the natural part at the bang. It wasn't completely bare on my forehead, but just covered enough to create the bang 'illusion'. All in all I love the bangs and the shaggy cut will look beautiful as the length comes in a little more. Imo
Super cute hairstyle! :) I like your hair both ways, but it does look a bit lighter when it is shorter. And don't worry about the fringe; they almost always need to 'adjust' when you first get them! I was in tears when I first got mine, but after a few washes, my hair adjusted a bit, and I I got it cut a second time. They often leave it a bit longer first, as it is easier to cut off extra, than waiting for it to grow out. :) A tip I found useful is to style it more straight than 'bouncy'. Especially when it grows longer. When you look at the reference photos, they are also cut a bit shorter, and styled more flat/straight. It tends to look a bit more modern/the current style. But the cut really suit you. :)
Delightful. You're lucky, the long hair looked great too. But what a fun change! I love it. Especially the natural wave you have. Two thumbs up, and your mom is a dear.
How cute! I recently gave myself bangs that look the same as yours. It was an adjustment to have hair in my face, but they're really fun. You look amazing 💛
Omg what a stunning transformation. I LOVE your new haircut! It absolutely frames your face, adds volume, is super flattering, and full of personality. I love it love it!
I like the cut--I think your mom did an awesome job. You seem to not like the natural bangs, but I think the slight bounce and wave of them is great--it has a very French "I just woke up and I still look amazingly fresh and beautiful" vibe.
I think I like the 'before' a bit more, I'm really drawn to simple long hair, but the end result is sooo pretty regardless!😍 The new hairstyle gives You an almost different personality solely by looks: At 8:55 for example, the 2 looks are so different that I would assume 2 different personalities behind them. On the left is You, as we know You, but on the right, the girl I see, I think she has a bit naughtier nature, I don't know how to describe it better, It's just an impression. This naughtier personality is really showing at 9:05 (a perfect capture for my different personality impression) with that look-back smile. If this very pose was with Your 'before' hair, it just wouldn't be the same impression overall.😄
I really love the layers and shorter length since it lets your natural hair texture bounce more. The before and afters show a pretty big difference there. Would love to see you try the curly girl method on your hair.
I'm digging the fringe! You're going to get all kinds of suggestions on how to tame that cowlick. So here's two, ha! 1. Tape - when her hair is wet and after you add some styling gel, tape that fringe in place until dry. 2. Same idea but with bobby pins, just be mindful of the crease they can make.
It looks great! I have a similar face shape and had a similar hair cut done a couple years ago. It was about that length, maybe a bit shaggier, and with curtain bangs. The curtain bangs were a good alternative to straight front bangs and more adaptable for styling (: Btw it looked good blown out too, but I'm the same way lol I always like my hair more after I wash and air dry.
I also have a strong cowlick at my side part and have always worn bangs/fringe. They blow dry nicely but if I go outside, well, they have a mind of their own… but recently I have been wearing them in a curtain bang style and love it. I am considering a bob as well as my hair is so long again and I just can’t stand it anymore! :) it gets in the way while I sleep and that is just going too far for me!
I'm a hairstylist and cutting hair literally is just weird geometry in relation to the shape of the head which is why the face shape can be helpful in determining the type of cut/style that best accents their features. I always encourage my clients to get whatever they want regardless but when I get a client that knows they want a change but they're not sure exactly what then I consult them by their lifestyle and face shape as a guideline to help determine what would work best for them and even keep in mind their front profile from the shoulders up as well as hair type. I used to think my face shape was more square because of my sharp jawline until I was in school and learned I'm more of a heart shape due to my widow's peak (cheers to the front cowlick club 🥳) and the fact that my jaw angles down slightly so my chin isn't in line with the back of my jaw the way someone with a more square shape might have. Additionally I have a tiny head and broad shoulders but thin, fine hair so I prefer to stay away from anything above the shoulders because I feel more confident having something that gives me volume to fill in that negative space between my head and shoulders so I appear more balanced. But it's one of those weird things that can get subjective the more you stare at someone and depending on which or how many shapes you're using as a guideline. I think this cut looks amazing on you and your hair is thick enough that the way your mom cut your fringe, the density to the left balances with the cowlick on the right so it looks awesome. The shoulder length shag is perfect for you especially with your texture and curl pattern. It looks pretty with the blowout she did but that particular style would probably suit a more "conservative" lifestyle like a business woman who puts a lot of effort into her daily styling routine. The messy get-up-and-go look definitely better suits your personality and especially your curl pattern (jealous btw 😩) so I think a blowout that focused more on going with the direction of your wavy curls being blown away from your face rather than smoothed down and curved toward it would look even better! So the no blow look naturally works best for you and this cut because you really don't need to put much effort into styling it in the mornings it really allows your hair to do its own thing without much effort because it naturally compliments it as well as the rest of your features. I'm trying to grow my bottom layer out so I can do a similar long shag cut soon. Love this look on you so much!
@@Humera478 I so appreciate that. I don't like working in salons that require you to try to upsell products or additional services just to make more money because I genuinely value my client's happiness way more and would rather them feel comfortable and confident enough that when they leave my chair they want to come back because I listen to what they want/need instead of trying to push what I think they should want. I feel good when they feel good and that's more rewarding for us both in the end.
This hairstyle is really pretty. It looks more mature on you, but it also has a chill vibe if you know what I mean. Loved the long hair too though. Great video as always!
this does fit you wonderfully! As for which camp I am in; as an alternative person with a long face I eventually completely stopped going to hairdressers because they would ALWAYS make my hair in a way to turn my face into plump roundness which I absolutely hate. I don't know what it is that society has against long foreheads or strong, long jaws but I call bs. 🤣
Alexa Chung has a (a bit more prominent) face shape like this and if you look at some of her videos and how she styles her hair I think it would suit you. She even once mentioned that she found out this (her significant) hairstyle suits her best and once in a while she tries to experiment, finds out it's just worse and then returns to the original. :D
So I am a make-up artist and a hairstylist, and I am quite good at face shapes. You have an oblong face (definitely not rectangular), but the length of your face comes not from the forehead, but rather from the nose and mouth area, so I wouldn’t have gone for bangs in your case, because now in a person’s head one would be imagining a longer forehead, than it actually is. For example: Dakota Johnson has an oblong face, but the length of her face comes from the forehead, so bangs suit her the most, and when you look at her you imagine the same length of a forehead as the length of her nose => bangs make her face look oval So in your case, volume and layers - great, bangs - may be not. But you are beautiful anyway👍And you have an absolutely beautiful forehead and a gorgeous hairline👍👍
So hear me out - every time I tried to find the “shape” for oblong, they used a rectangle. I have no idea why but I legit didn’t know what shape to use 😭 thank u so much !!!
@@Ellbat I spent literally years trying to understand the difference between the face-shapes and trying to understand what face-shape I have😭 And I came to a conclusion, that shape matters, but the proportions within the face are more important, so I concentrate on different areas of the face and try to see how they look within the face: do they look longer, do they look shorter, do they look wider, what could be done to make the face look a little bit more oval (this is more relevant to make-up, but I also use it for the hairstyles, especially when it comes to styling bangs and deciding on the proportions of the volume🙈 I really like how your bangs were bending outwards in the beginning of the video - right in the middle of your face - it drew a horizontal line (horizontal lines make the area shorter) right were it belonged (as I feel). But I am always up to experiments! Bangs are fun, hair is fun :-) And the best part it - it grows, so you can have many more experiments☺️👍 And you are very welcome❤️
More upvotes needed, this is exactly what I was thinking too! I would style the bangs with the parting, and flip them out a little. She has a beautiful face, and I would love to see the next hairstyle be basically this, but with even more layers and a little less fringe.
I don't think it looks bad but honestly I prefer your previous hair style. The reason for this is that I think people don't need to balance their features but that it can look great to emphasize your unique features. I think the straight long hair beautifully emphasizes your oblong face shape, no need to balance! Btw this is also the philosophy of the Kibbe system which I have seen being mentioned here before
My hair stylist took off 12 inches of my hair and layered the sides I hate it so much. I like blunt hair it makes my hair look thicker. He murdered my hair on may 10.th so now I’m just waiting for it to grow out. I just feel comfortable with long hair . I will never get a hair cut again. My hair journey is on TH-cam
Also she has a beautiful forehead that perfectly balances other features. I could never understand this trend to "hide your forehead to make your face smaller". Like.. from when is it bad to have an elongated face? It's elegant. Secondly, it does not work like that. My forehead is not long, my face is. So hiding my forehead under a fringe does absolutely the opposite, my face looks even longer and heavier and athe fringe makes it stand out even more. Tried it once and realised it's bs.
I kept saying "oblong" the whole time you were wondering about your face shape, so I was happy when your mum confirmed it 😆 You new hairstyle suits you wonderfully, it's OK if the fringe wants to do its own thing, just the fact that it's there brings balance to your face! Beautiful result!
Cute hair cut!! Love it with the curls!! They way your mom styled it reminded me of Rachel from Friends, and you were talking about her in the beginning of the video
honestly I don't mind the concept of "shapes" I just think that we shouldn't tell people that they absolutely SHOULD strictly conform to the one Ideal Shape, hide their distinct(bad) features and emphasize the things that are considered good, wear "appropriate" clothes/haircut/makeup. Like you can have SO MUCH fun with shapes(comming from an artist)
I really liked it, but I too have a layered long bob, so clearly I'm biased. You look beautiful either way. And the color of your hair matches so well with the cut. It makes your eyes stand out even more.
First vid of urs I've seen and i absolutely love that look on u, even the slight parting in the fringe I think makes the look more youthful, it looks amazing and interesting and unique!

She did a decent job. Actually I think you could go even shorter, especially with the bangs.
@@JankoWalski-hz3lu i normally don't like that haircut but she did it so good! and imo it fits Elena v much
Your mum is a goddess though. Captivating!
It looks great! And amazing how your hair looks when just washed without styling with this cut! The fringe will improve by itself cause you parted your hair for years before. It always does that when you forst cut a fringe. After like 2 weeks or so it will fall more naturally to the front
Honestly HONESTLY, it looks great on you. About the bangs: straight iron them, it takes 3' or so and after 2 weeks or so, the hair stops parting
Great tip! I have this problem
I’ve had bangs my entire life and once I turned 20 or so they completely changed in pattern. They have become the final boss of bangs lol
My hair sat fine after cutting bangs and giving my hair a wash. I have wavy hair and a cowlick at the front too so they aren’t the most well-behaved in general, but like I said- sat fine after a wash. Just brush when wet and there shouldn’t be a need for heat if you do it correctly
@@ghoultooth it really depends on the direction of your root and the thickness of your hair. Different different hair behaves differently
Honestly loved the blow dry the most? Like it wasn't perfect, especially the slightly weird curl in/curl out layers, but your mum nailed the fringe area. Like NAILED it.
Yes I loved the look of it styled
Liked both!
She looks like young Shane Dawsons mom with it blow dried I love it
The blow dry reminded me of bloom from winx club 😃
It looked great and super glamorous BUT it made her age so much lol. She had this desperate housewives vibe 😂

@@soonstarryskies I'd say maybe soft dramatic as she carries unisex sleek cuts really well
I personally find those essences even more confusing
You look great! I just have one tip: Try cutting the fringe shorter, so they lay right above the eyebrows. It will put more emphasis on your eyes (which are beautiful btw) rather than the middle part of your face. The TH-cam channel ‚Dear peachie‘ did a great video on fringes. It has helped me a lot deciding the right fringe style.
Yes, and I'd say a bit shorter, it's a weird not quite there length, I think I prefer it before, but, only coz I think it's not quite there ☺️😍💃🏼
Yes, what I came here to say. Your bangs need to be right above your eye brows. I promise you will look stunning.
Not at all, DON"T DO IT - short Betty bangs would NOT look good - keep them the way they are - longer and kind of messy - natural. LOVE it!
@@PinkShips-h9r no, her bangs are so long it looks like it's hard for her to see and in a month they will definitely be in her eyes

The natural style on this cut looks soooo good on you! The blow out did age you, but the 'just woke up and quickly shook my hair around' vibe looks great, effortless and youthful! I think your mom did a great job with the cut!
I agree, the blow out looked outdated - the natural look looks really good - makes me want to cut mine that way.
Personally, I would recommend trying a curtain bang! I think it would blend seamlessly with the rest of the cut😊
But honestly you’d look beautiful with any cut! ✨
I don't think she needs a fringe at all or anything that hides her forehead, as it is absolutely beautiful.
No, this hair looks so retro and fun, I love that longer bangs don’t bring the hair into the layers. It’s just a sharp retro bang and I love it
@@alyonaf1054 bangs aren't just to hide foreheads they often contribute to the full look, especially layered hair
The new cut looks great! It's playful and bouncy and very cute. Your long hair suited you too but it's lovely you've donated the length you cut off. Ultimately the best style for you (or anyone) is whatever gives you the most confidence and makes you feel good!
Initially, my thought was to go for a super layered and fringed wolf cut. Your mum did an excellent job!
You are absolutely kidding me if you don't think I'm gonna drop everything every time there is a hair change
Edit: and you look completely stunning!! I also got a shaggy cut recently and it's a head turner
Same
I love the cut!! You look so sassy & fresh! Thanks to your mom (who is absolutely adorable!) for being an inspiration and doing such a great job!!
I like both, your mum’s styling could be the glamorous you and yours is an everyday style. It looks good on you. I hope you are taking your vitamins and especially the vit C xx
I love the cut now. It really helps to accentuate the angles in your face but also make you look softer. It’s rlly nice!!
I view it more as a guide to compliment your shape type rather than correct it
I have the same parting which is why I don't do fringe either, so much work!
Also my mum is an icon, very proud of her 🥺
@@Ellbat My big question is what is her phd in?
I actually love the blow dry your mom did- it looks very 60s and I think that is a classic and beautiful style
Just discovered you a few weeks ago.....binged almost every video. I'm in a treatment facility for a central nervous disorder and your videos have kept me so happy and my mind off the pain. Thank you! You are a magical fairy human ❤️❤️
Hope you are on the road to recovery!
Best of luck Amber x
Thank you! ❤️
I would love to see a video where she gets a stylist to figure out her Kibbe body type and dresses according to it!
Yeah much easier too. Less control equals happier style.
@@charlotteb6450 happy to help! And good luck with that, I hope you like it!
Get a round brush and when they're wet you gotta blow dry them in the shape and then set them with cold air ❤️
exactly. i’ve had to do it because i have widow’s peak ❤️
I forget the cold air piece. Thanks
The new hairstyle is so pretty! 😍 Keep it plz 😍
Definitely 10/10 🔥
Also I'm so glad this video went up today because I was wondering about the full fringe in your no sleep stream 😂 - hope you've recovered from that by the way, cant wait for the video and the stats!😁
Absolutely obsessed with the new style, looks stunning on you! 😍🥰
Imo
You look absolutely beautiful in this haircut! And I think the fringe looks great!
The new style looks stunning! honestly, looks quite nice
I like the cut--I think your mom did an awesome job. You seem to not like the natural bangs, but I think the slight bounce and wave of them is great--it has a very French "I just woke up and I still look amazingly fresh and beautiful" vibe.
I think it suits you absolutely well!
Sure, it always takes a bit to get used to a new look as drastically as that, but I really dig this one~
The post-wash cut looks AMAZING on you! Nicely done to your mum AND you for being brave enough to go for it
I think I like the 'before' a bit more, I'm really drawn to simple long hair, but the end result is sooo pretty regardless!😍
The new hairstyle gives You an almost different personality solely by looks:
At 8:55 for example, the 2 looks are so different that I would assume 2 different personalities behind them.
I love the idea of letting your fringe do its own part, it would look very pretty (not a hard part, but let it have some natural movement)
I would trust you with my hair. Wish stylists took time to guide like this x
I LOVE it
omg 🥺
it looks so good! oh my gosh, your mom is an AMAZING hairstylist!
this does fit you wonderfully!
it looked amazing how your mom styled it!! natural is an edgier vibe and also looks gorg
It suits you so so much ong !!!!
For example: Dakota Johnson has an oblong face, but the length of her face comes from the forehead, so bangs suit her the most, and when you look at her you imagine the same length of a forehead as the length of her nose => bangs make her face look oval
So in your case, volume and layers - great, bangs - may be not.
You know what, you‘re cool for going through with this, I’ll go and binge watch all your videos now
I don't think it looks bad but honestly I prefer your previous hair style.
Tried it once and realised it's bs.
love the fringe, love the cut. for some reason made your eyes really pop!
After watching you on stream for 20 hours this week I’m already shocked by seeing your old hair lmao
Ikr!!
that's mad bc I only got the haircut only 2 days before the stream, im not even used to it yet lool
It fits you so WELL!!!! I really think you look a bit better than before, but you look beautiful either way :)
I kept saying "oblong" the whole time you were wondering about your face shape, so I was happy when your mum confirmed it 😆
You new hairstyle suits you wonderfully, it's OK if the fringe wants to do its own thing, just the fact that it's there brings balance to your face! Beautiful result!
Me too! I was saying, “Oblong. You could rock bangs.” We’re so smart. 😉
Cute hair cut!! Love it with the curls!!
They way your mom styled it reminded me of Rachel from Friends, and you were talking about her in the beginning of the video
I love this cut on you. It looks so great once you washed it and let it dry naturally. Suits you so well. Win!
honestly I don't mind the concept of "shapes" I just think that we shouldn't tell people that they absolutely SHOULD strictly conform to the one Ideal Shape, hide their distinct(bad) features and emphasize the things that are considered good, wear "appropriate" clothes/haircut/makeup. Like you can have SO MUCH fun with shapes(comming from an artist)
I really liked it, but I too have a layered long bob, so clearly I'm biased. You look beautiful either way. And the color of your hair matches so well with the cut. It makes your eyes stand out even more.
I absolutely loved the haircut! it changed u in a good way and it really suited u!!! hopefully I one day figure out my face shape!
Your new look is adorable, very flattering. I like the air dryer version best 👌
It looks good both ways. And I think it looked really good the way your mom styled it!👍🏻
Before and after are so beautiful 🥺 but the new hair style is more interesting and thats why I like it more! ☺️
The blow dry looked good but I personally am not a fan of a fringe or short hair so overall preferred the longer hair. But it still looks good
Love the new cut, especially the relaxed way you styled it. The layers look beautiful.
Iridescent wall tiles! That painting! Wonderful content also!
I prefer both of them honestly. I think you'd look lovely no matter the haircut. I adore the fringe. It's a success for me!
This new hair is really good! It’s like your face changed shape. For the better!
Definitely naturally dried is better.
First vid of urs I've seen and i absolutely love that look on u, even the slight parting in the fringe I think makes the look more youthful, it looks amazing and interesting and unique!
