Does anyone know what kind of synth (may actually be a guitar) kicks in at 2:18 ? If it is indeed a guitar, I think I heard this sound out of synthesizers before, but I don't know what to call it so I can't search for it..

there are two simultaneous tracks as far as I can hear. One is a guitar played with the strings muted by the right hand as he plucks the guitar. The other also appears to be a guitar with the same technique but has some similarity with some ´tubular´synths for instance like steam pipe which is one of the core synths in Reaktor. Equally there is no strange or wonderful settings for a synth to get this, just choosing the synth with an appropriate timbre and adjusting the ADSR to get short attack, decay, sustain and release and program the sequence with an ARP. (or ask a guitarist to do it).

Thanks Phil! I'm a guitarist but I'm not too familiar with this sound, so I'll experiment more to try and achieve this sound. The thing I like about this sound is probably the tubular sound so I'll search for that as well!
