  • For this episode, in our Larry At The Movie series, we have one of Larry and the Crew's favorites, "No Country For Old Men". Created by the Coen Brothers in 2007, this Best Picture Academy Award Winner is a perfect example of how sometimes the mistakes in movies don't really matter if they help serve the film. Check out Part 1 to see Larry's take on some of the film's iconic action sequences, and remember to help us out by subscribing below.

I thought the same. He could have been the first dude popped. I don't know how safety disciplined cartel guys were in 1980 but I could give him the benefit of the doubt and say he didn't get the chance to flip it down.
Brass would be everywhere on the deck. Dudes maneuvering and shooting would get brass flung everywhere. When the Sheriff investigates the scene he finds multiple pistol calibers in a single pile. It's possible that the movie didn't think through the props and set up but I also think it's easily explainable with some imagination and observation.

OK, how do you know he wasn't 10 feet camera right before he died and collapsed in front of his spent cartridges, I mean people moving during a gun fight is common so.. Did you ever hear the saying "The simplest explanation is usually the correct explanation". Larry is right, it is most likely a rubber prop gun that was molded in the safe position.

As a teen, a buddy and I cut through a desert gulf between two North Vegas housing developments to get on a nature trial which lead to mutual friend's very hoity suburb.
I did the mountain biker thing and went up a hill to get my bearings, using the terrain and rooftops as a reference. But somehow got distracted, and lead my buddy back down the wrong side of the the hill.
We spent hours trying to find a trail that should have taken minutes to get on.

one of my favorite movies. Very unique story. Super well done acting from Jabier Bardem. Roger Deakins's cinematography is beautiful and on point. The sound design is also outstanding, and I would say much of the tension was built up mostly with the silence.
