Russia where history repeats itself one stupid decision after another.

    • @nevco8774
      @nevco8774 ปีที่แล้ว +12

In fact in Russia history is unpredictable since each and every dictator develops his own version of propaganda, each version contradicting the other ones. However from common sense point of view the today RuZZia tries to repeat not exactly its own history but is trying to mix some flavour from Axis powers history - I mean conquering the lands to create empires from the past - third Reich in Germany, great Italy or empire of Japan using extreme nationalism such as fascism/Nazism/militarism of those three mentioned failed empires.

Finland and Poland are the best they've got, even the US couldn't put 100,000 troops in, and if they did the caskets would start coming home in thousands... The UK estimates they would run out of ammo in ONE DAY lol.
And of course while we waste our last ammo supplies in Ukraine, China is surrounding the US and buying up land next to military bases.. The US will never see it coming.

Ukraine needs to win this war, get peace and freedom back to their land and people(s) once again, and of course keep up their democracy, as well as continue to root out all corruption - to be able to join NATO!
      Nothing else and nothing more.
And, assuming you're one of the countless Russian 'trolls' here on YT, here's some useful info for you:
The corruption that Ukraine has been experiencing and have had to fight during the entire time, while (trying to be?) their own sovereign state - at least in modern times? Well, it has shown itself to be the foremost and most enduring legacy from the Soviet Empire.
Today's Russia is practically the only 'active' and remaining Empire (partly) on European soil - with the sole exception of Belarus (which clearly wouldn't and couldn't have existed, at least not as a dictatorship - without the active support of Putin and Kremlin. Be that as it may that Kremlin has plans on gulfing up that territory for themselves as well, but still - quite a feat!
Anyway, the Soviet Empire remains in active memory as one of the most deprived, corrupted and hated Empires in the history of the world - 'even so' amongst most of the Russian people(s) themselves! (Or, at least so amongst the educated and informed ones [which, granted may sadly not be too many. At least seemingly not amongst the elderly population!]. Probably by a combination of a hefty dose of nostalgia and a quite skillfully 'rehabilitation-campaign' by the Kremlin!
(Since no-one of sound mind could really, and truly lookback at those times - and see it as 'the good old days/times'! With it's 'forced relocation' of millions of people, politically and ethnically motivated jailings, tortures and executions, not to mention its' Gulags: the forced slave labor camps : perfected by one of its' most psychopathic 'Leaders: Stalin!
Yes - Stalin was actually neither the 'Hero' of WWII, nor the 'friendly uncle' that he was portraid to be! Not then, and not now...He actually had more Russian blood on his hands than even the Germans, during the WWII.
As a matter of fact - he's is most probably ONLY 'superseded' (as a mass-murderer) by the Chinese 'comrade' Mao-Tse Tung)!
So - take a loooong and good look on your own country and its' history! It's NOT going anywhere - but merely going in circles! Repeating itself about once every century.
Isn't it about time to break that destructive circle? -Starting by for ex. getting rid of the deeply ingrained concept that there 'must' be a "strong-man" at the helm, `the concept that Russia "really has no borders", and must therefore always look to expand and conquer other people and their territories, and that the people of Russia shouldn't and 'really can't' be involved in any way in the "intricate ways' of politics - along with all the other "ancient" 'ideas' that keeps Russia from truly moving forward, better the living-conditions for the 'common man' and turn into an "ordinary, modern country" with the "workings" that could actually be accepted by the rest of the world...? - Just asking...

      @MrZenGuitarist ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@MrThartofwar And you find that strange? For real?
Èver since the very beginning of the war, Ukraine and Zelensky tried to reach out to Russia, several times - in order to 'negotiate'. For the safe passage(s) of civilians in different cities and/or regions, to NOT shoot at civilian cars where the presence of children were clearly announced, 'peaceful' reunion of children with their mother/father (or other relative), etc., and so on....
But every single one of these attempts to reach out to Russia were either totally ignored, immediately rejected, or - during almost (if not all?) of those rare occasions when Ukraine thought they had actually managed to 'strike some kind of deal' with Russia - these promises simply weren't kept! (Just like the 'original' "Minsk agreement - where Ukraine let go of their "Nuclear stockpile", in exchange for so-called "security-guarantees" from Russia).
I thought that we had all learned by now that any so-called "deal" or "agreement" struck with the Russian 'government' - isn't even worth the paper it's written on!? (And, just in case anyone's wondering, I wrote 'government', since the current one is much more like a 'Mafia' than an actual, real government!).
So - there is THAT little 'obstacle', that you simply cannot trust anything that the current government of Russia says. Neither can you trust anything they're saying. Putin's Russia has pretty much a "perfect record" when it comes to NOT keeping any kind of 'agreement', or any of their words! Well, that's the first of 'obstacles'...I guess.
And, since it rather soon became pretty apparent that the current government of Russia neither seemed very interested in 'striking any kind of deal', and at those rather few occasions when they did - almost never kept them...well, who can really blame Ukraine for not 'trusting' the words, or signatures of any Russian statesman?
In my eyes at least, all of these past decisions made by Putin reveals quite well that he was never, and still isn't looking for any kind of 'half-measures' here (Or, that he in other words isn't going to be satisfied with anything less than it all - less so striking up, or at the very least keeping any of the words of any potential agreement that doesn't give him exactly what he wants, or more).
His behavior up 'til now also clearly demonstrates that he isn't very interested in or concerned with how much destruction, suffering and death that it might cost in order to get it (Or whether the ones who suffers are Ukrainian or Russian, civilian or military, etc...) :
Or, in other words - that he ordered his army across the border with one, single intent: to keep Ukraine within the "Russian sphere of influence", no matter the costs!
Either by capturing Kiev and chasing Zelensky out of office, so that he could replace him with a "Kremlin-friendly" puppet . OR - capturing the whole of Ukraine with Russia's 'supposed overwhelming' military might.
Yes, more Ukrainians are unfortunately going to suffer before all of this is over - as will also many more Russians!
But what can really be done about anything in this mess, 'diplomatically'? At least as long as Putin is still in power. (And he certainly hasn't shown much appetite for letting it go in the past, and now as he is a wanted "war-criminal" - he simply can't!)
Putin surely isn't about to let go of any of the ('his') captured territories (and probably neither can he, 'politically' - and live?) - while at the same time the Ukrainians certainly will not stop before they have recaptured all of their home-land!
The room for negotiations during these circumstances can't really and honestly be said to be anything else than as slim as they can possibly get...yet, you still seem to disagree?
If so - please enlighten me - what is there to agree upon? What kind agreement can realistically be reached?
And last but not least, even if we say that some kind of agreement hypothetically could be reached - how much would this agreement be worth? That is - how could Ukraine ever feel secure again? How can they feel and be certain that Russia wouldn't just simply return for another 'chunk', as soon as it has licked its' wounds and rebuilt its' military strength?
Sure, I would much rather see dialogue and diplomacy before all out war - as would most. But, it just isn't possible in all scenarios - as you surely must know, as I presume that you live here on planet Earth. (Have you never been suddenly and violently attacked? For a reason, unknown to you?
If you have - what did you do, as your opponent continued to punch and kick at you? - I highly doubt that you reached for your pen and paper to draw up a charter, right? You tried to defend yourself perhaps?)

The Russian regime has not, as far as we know, changed its goals since the beginning of its military invasion of Ukraine, and in fact Russia may have been developing those goals before 2014. The timing of the "special operation" is in itself peculiar, but that it was considered and planned for, over a longer period of time is reasonably certain. What are the goals ? 1). Take over control over Ukraine, as a whole, in the continuing belief that Ukraine is an inalienable part of Russia and that it must remain that way. Crazy as that seems there are those in the regime who believe it and believe they can give historical arguments supporting their beliefs. 2). Prevent Ukraine becoming part of NATO and part of the EU. Definitely that too. 3). Punish Ukraine for leaving the Russian fold. There are those who believe that everything of value in Ukraine was built by Russia, as the USSR, and that Ukraine owes loyalty to Russia in respect for that contribution to Ukraine development. Let's remember that Ukraine was effectively enslaved to producing a third of Russia's military production, and that it housed some of Russia's most prized engineers and scientists who were working on military research and development. Some were ethnic Russians in Ukraine, but many more were Ukrainians. It hurt the Russian MOD very badly when Ukraine left and went off on its own, looking to making European rather than Russian connections. Taking Russian military secrets with it. That is an important point. Ukraine took a lot of Russian military secrets with it, when it turned toward the West and turned its back on Moscow. Traditionally doing that creates a huge motive in terms of punishing the "traitors". So there are the three basic reasons, but you also have Ukraine's natural resources, and agricultural resources, as well as its civilian industrial base in addition to its military industries, such as all of that was, and perhaps the Russians looking more to the immense potential and the USSR had seen in Ukraine far more than the conditions of relative poverty, in statistical terms, compared to European standards. The Russian regime not wanting that potential going to Europe, and wanting to control it as part of Russia's resources and potential is most certainly involved. Then again if the Russian regime cannot control it as their own they are quite willing to destroy it all as punishment for what is perceived as being "treason". Then there is the high probability that the Chinese have been manipulating Russia into the situation Russia is now in, knowing full well that they might get to buy Russia effectively at ten cents on the dollar as Russia goes broke. Not only buy it as is, but continue to buy Russian resources and production at very cut rate prices, in addition to achieving greater technology transfer from Russia. China would be the big winners, not Russia, no matter how the Ukraine war goes is a fact. Though China is playing make believe that it is not true and that they are disinterested. The PLA is far from disinterested and one way or another they are eyeing a takeover of resources they are eager to obtain and control. If Russia continues to slide in the direction that the war is taking it, into isolation and deprivation within a global context, and if India continues to turn West, away from Moscow, Russia will have only one major real friend in the world to take advantage of it, and that is China. If Russians ever realize how victimized they would be by China, they would think very differently about the Moscow regime and the war. To be quite open and direct on the subject we were somewhat hopeful, across a span of years, that Russia would evolve in more positive ways. That Russia would establish a less corrupt society, that is more Democratic and striving to achieve reasonable levels of human rights. We hoped that Russia would see a strong alliance with the European Union, in terms of common elements of trade and culture, that would lead to immense new opportunities for both Russia and the EU members to achieve great things in a time when the world needs to achieve many great things, given other (non conflict) challenges that the world faces. Russia is a huge disappointment. A primitive, savage, irrational, somewhat Medieval minded, state that offers no real hopes or grounds for any optimism as to its attainment of any positive global citizenship, within the context of Russia's tragic and horrifying internal political situation. A situation headed by Soviet era dinosaurs who still espouse Soviet doctrine and paranoia, to entirely insane and irrational levels. There are few scenarios in history that are as disappointing as that. Given that the Cold War ended some quarter century ago and given the fact that the Russian Federation was given a new chance. A chance that it has chosen to entirely ruin. We rarely encounter disappointments as severe and as unfortunate as the disappointment that Russia has become.

You would think he was smarter than that after hearing him speak his truth. Perhaps he always dreamed of getting out of Russia, right into trying to wishing himself out of Ukraine. Glad he was saved from the slaughter.

Today's Russia is practically the only 'active' and remaining Empire on (at least partly) European soil - with the sole exception of Belarus of course (which wouldn't and couldn't have existed as a dictatorship, without the active support of Putin and Kremlin. Be that as it may that Kremlin has long held plans on annexing that territory for themselves as well!).
Anyway, the treatment of the 'common man' in todays' Russia immediately makes you think of the Soviet Empire!
Which still remains in active memory as one of the most deprived, corrupt and hated Empires in the history of the world - 'even so' amongst many of the Russian people(s) themselves!
(At least and perhaps especially so amongst the younger, well-educated & informed generation[s]! A perception which may sadly not have been embraced by too many from the older generation[s]! Which is most probably down to a combination of a hefty dose of nostalgia, the 'chaos' that the [too?] suddenly introduced 'capitalism' caused, as well as a quite skillfully executed 'rehabilitation-campaign' - propagated by the Kremlin!
Since, you would at least think that no-one of sound mind could really, and truly look back at those times and see those years as 'the good old times', right?! With all it's 'forced relocation' of millions of people, politically and ethnically motivated jailings, tortures and executions - not to mention its' Gulags, or forced slave laborcamps!
The uniquely 'Soviet-style-system', perfected by one of its' most psychopathic 'Leaders: Stalin!
Yes, for all the "pro-Russians" out there - Stalin was neither the 'Hero' of WWII, nor the 'friendly uncle' that he was portraid to be! Not then, and not now...no matter the amount of propaganda pumped out from the Kremlin! As a matter of fact: he actually had more Russian blood on his hands than any other! Including 'even' the Nazis, during the WWII !!!).
As a matter of fact - he's is most probably ONLY 'superseded', in the history of man-kind as a mass-murderer, by the Chinese 'comrade' Mao-Tse Tung!
So, please all the Russians - take a loooong and good look on your own country and its' history! It's NOT going anywhere, but merely going in circles!
- Just a friendly question to all the Russians and "pro-Russians"..

@@niburu1508 Ehh...?? What? And that's "funny" bc of what, or why?
When it's common knowledge Russia, as a country stretches its' borders all the way from the very far east. All the way from the historically Chinese territory of so-called 'Manchuria'- to the very west of this Eurasian peninsula - that is, to the far-off of the Baltic Sea, situated in the very north of Europe.
Which automacally makes Russia a partly European, but mostly Asian. Although, all the power, wealth and influence come from wherever the Elites are happening to currently have chosen to live out their privileged lives. Which is, for you who do not know, mostly and mainly in Moscow. Although, quite a few of them also seem to be able to both live and be able to thrive in S:t Petersburg, at least nowadays. So, in other words - a country that encompasses both the European peninsula, as well as the very 'distant' and huge part which lies in the far off in the Asian west!
I could go on, but I trust that you understand what I mean by now? Please, what's funny?

@@niburu1508 Or, to take your first citation as a form of question:
All ideas and also 'appetite' for of Empires, all over the world, together with a lot of societal changes, economical upheavals, and so on, somewhat slowly but steady seemed to kind of die off. (Even though the U.S was perhaps in the "danger-zone" before and also some time after WWI, when they had both beaten the old Spanish Empire, more or less 'taken some of areas as theirs', taken of the sea from the British and also flourished both industrially and economically??). Maybe a lot of things.
The thing I'm really trying to say here is that the rest of the world might have let go off even the concept of having an Empire and moved on, except Russia.
Sad -but true. Russia really has no shared culture, no shared regional languages, no shared, true allegiance (even though a 'proper one' must be 'maintained' at all times, at all cost - bc you'll never know who's watching!), or really nothing except military might, and a willingness and readiness to either use it, or make the threat to use it - of course, to their "own so-called' "population"....in the army, everyone from east is treated as a second-hand citizens with no real rights, and an highly questionable 'status' as a 'fully human creature'.
Part of what keeps it together is probably a certain number of traumas, PTSD and the like - not seldom combined with a hefty dose of propaganda, where everything bad that happens in the world is bc that the US, NATO, or "combined West" "likes to act like that").
Long: Yes! Boring?: Perhaps, although I hope not, true? -Hell yes!

There's simply no chance in hell that Russia - ONE country, could prevail against most of the world!
(Remember - most of the rest of the world were themselves part of an Empire not that long ago. 'Even' if it may be a century ago, or more. Or less.
But - 'even so' - most of the world, the greater majority in the world, have embraced the idea of 'free nations', be it as it may one former colonized or former colonizer:
Both sides have 'learned the lesson', and have also seen and clearly noticed all the 'improvements of life' and thus very simply moved on to the world of trust and cooperation.
I didn't say forget....but clearly on the way towards forgiveness, trust and partnerships.
