SAU project based on the tank object 730 (T-10), developed in the first half of the 50s. The project provided for the placement of a gun in a rotating tower, which allowed to conduct circular shelling on the horizon. The placement of most of the ammunition in the niche of the tower made it possible to improve the working conditions of the crew. All work was rolled at the design stage due to the need for expensive and complex alterations of a number of nodes of the base machine.
