Honestly. Credit to Imogen for holding it together as long as she did. She allowed a LOT of conversation when it was clear she went into this looking to just RUIN Delilah
And credit to Laura for that beautiful "cupcake" setup that got not only Delilah, but Matt as well. Just slipping that "Delilah Briarwood" into the conversation, which is also how she casts that spell, so beautiful.
I came to CR through the Vox Machina show on Prime. I decided to watch campaign 2 and not worry about 1 . I always had the next episode. To watch. I did not have to wait a year between 99 and 100. Then Campaign 3 came on line. This is the first time I have TO WAIT to see what happens. I live in the East. Screaming FU MATT MERCER at two in the morning is not a way to endear one self to their family.
Marisha running around the table at the end is hilarious. Matt runs warlocks different from RAW (which says warlock powers are permanent). He runs things such that they're sort of like non-divine clerics, in that they have to have some connection to a "greater" power, and if they lose that connection, so go their powers. I've seen speculation that Laudna might go full sorcerer, maybe keeping her Shadow Magic subclass, or pivoting into the Lunar Magic subclass (which is obviously highly appropriate given the campaign's themes), or that she might keep her current level arrangement, but pivot her warlock subclass from The Undead (Delilah) to The Undying (The Raven Queen, or more specifically, _the Raven Queen's current champion_ ). The last one is fun because she gets to keep her fun-scary, although the Vax connection is more fans wanting fanservice, I think, but it does also make sense. There's a valid argument for Laudna getting a second chance at life because of how her life has been manipulated so much for decades.
And this week is going to be the one-year milestone of C3, the Halloween episode, and the 21st is going to be Matt and Marisha’s 5-year wedding anniversary. That’s a lot. And I’m looking forward to it.

If Laudna manages to comeback without Delilah's influence, the Change Bringer could be the best solution, because Fearne did say that they would find a way to resurrect her. Then Laudna will be reworked, like Veth, she will live once more, with the 50 years that she has and maybe will be a war inside her just like Fjord... Idk if everything I said makes any sense, my English sucks but this community is awesome and I'm very happy to be part of this.. Your reactions are really great, I love your videos and I would love to see a video of u and FraudOnTheTele just discussing theories...
Man! This was some good episode! and yes, the poeticness of it being Laura (And Imogen) who deals that final and decisive blow... you couldn't make it better if you scripted it! I am however worried about Laudna now, (Or is it Matilda?!) what version of her have we gotten back (because yes, I do believe this sudden waking of them all means the mixed Astral Projection/Resurrection was successful.) Will there just be no more Warlock powers? will there be no more hollow one? I SO wish I had found Critical Role Earlier in my life, I SO wish I had found a group to play with. I found Critical role after covid forced me to reevalue the focuses in my life, returning to that nerdy side of me, one niche led to another and interest in cosplaying led me to LARPING and into Roleplaying, and into Critical Role, In less than a year I went from not seing anything of CR to have seen everything! Two years later I have the sourcebooks, the dice and the Character sheets, but haven't found a group. A draw back of being a social recluse in a very tiny corner of the world...
Yep. This episode was just as intense watching live as watching again here. I was anxious the whole time! I don’t normally stay up for the full live cuz it goes until after 2am my time and sometimes I’m just super tired. I stayed up for this one! I am curious to know what kind of Necromancer you are. I don’t really see a huge problem with my Circle of the Coast Nature Druid being averse to meeting you. Unless you’re the evil kind of one. Then we would definitely have a problem. She’s not savvy on evil people for many reasons, mostly trauma related.
My heart broke when Imogen started calling Laudna “Matilda”. I wonder if she will eventually do so when she is brought back, reconciling that she is not the “Laudna” she knew anymore, that she hadn’t really known Laudna that well at all… and that she would like to get to know her as Matilda. A fresh start to help such a tortured soul heal.
now.. imagine when laudna gets revived and since delilah doesnt have a hold of her anymore, laudna looks completely normal now :O and not the creepy version
When I realized they were walking toward whitestone I got huge deja Vu to episode 28/29 of c1 and thought it was crazy that years later a different group would make a similar walk almost like vox machina. Absolute stunner of an episode. Somewhere every vox machina member got a nose bleed as they made their walk toward the tree. Unknowingly recreating a legendary moment in history to yet create there own defining moment. A spectical Dms everywhere appreciate

While I'm happy that Delilah Briarwood is presumably gone for good, I do wonder if by returning to the "real world" does this mean Laudna is gone? Remember they were only to go in and separate Laudna from Delilah long enough to get her out, not kill Delilah. Though it did seem like she was bluffing in saying that if she goes so does Laudna. I want to believe that she'll be back but I have to accept there's a possibility, however small that she isn't you know?

Vax's highest Stealth roll in Campaign 1 was, believe it or not, 49: Natural 20 + 4 - Dex Mod + 6 - Proficiency + 6 - Expertise I + 6 - Expertise II + 3 - Elven Cloak (Magic Item) + 4 - Bless (4 on a 1d4) Grand total: 49 for Stealth Check Note: Vex actually had a 48 on a Stealth check at one point as well.
Vax rolled a either a 43 or 45 at one point I think, late in the campaign. That's where the joke that he stealthed into the next campaign came from, which now is actually kinda true. Chet's getting close tho.

The lesson from this is that you should never piss off Laura Bailey which we all kind of knew anyway but this solidifies it.
