So glad there is an solo/co op variant. Because it was so hard to get this to the table and I believe this could be a bridge between pve and pvp. I believe lcg's or ecg's almost need an solo/ co op variant.
True. Coming from a TCG background myself, it's hard to like a game sometimes when you have no one to play it with if it's PvP. Hopefully, with this next PvE expansion, whoever collects the Ashes cards but have no one to play the game with can dust off their collection for this expansion next year.
I'm so excited for this mode. I've been trying to get a few friends to play Ashes with me to no avail, so I have all this cardboard that I never use. I'm very glad to get some use out of it in the future.
Not gunna lie, my wife and i were both heavy netrunner players and were gutted when that game was officially ended. We also played a good amount of the original ashes, and when the revival came along, we both immediately subscribed. Even though neither of us have played the newer releases past the core set, we both refuse to un-sub because we WILL get to them eventually, plus we both want to do our small part to keep the project going.
With the local interest waning due to difficulty of people getting together, this is wonderful news for someone like myself who dove into it and struggle to get others to play.
unlike Zack, I always get my money's worth at all you can eats. I once finished 18 pancakes and it was glorious(and quite filling), though my wife was not as pleased as I was, lol. great gift idea for Steven... remember your presence is more valuable than presents. So end the yr with a Netrunner stream(or 2+) and give everyone in your life the gift that keeps on giving(rewatchable streams), maybe a short series incorporating the various Null Signal sets. what makes a good AI for a game... when it still feels like another player and not just do X, Y, and Z then take your turn again. I am so glad I bought into this game after see this. I've been playing solo since day 1 but it gets difficult to play both sides sometimes. If I wasn't already all in on Ashes, this expansion as this stream would have sold me on it. February can't get here soon enough so I can get this to my table!!! Ashes will see a lot more of my table with this.
I'm for it! Definitely going to get it and try it out. I do have 2 questions (well, 1 question and 1 observation): 1) I might be thinking too down the road but I notice the Aspect card do not say they are for the Corpse of Viros. If this is going to be expanded on (past this cycle), will we be fighting only Viros or are the aspect cards meant to be used for any/all possible villains? 2) The way it's set up, I expect not all aspect cards will be "units" on the battlefield. I could see an aspect card being an action spell (or a reaction spell that sets a trigger), then it goes off the board, maybe to be replaced by another aspect card. Or maybe even a ready spell that stays on the board and the "AI" could trigger will a roll.
I plaid Ashes at a mini games con a long time ago and liked it a lot. However my local groups were not interested. It's great news that a co-op/solo version is coming out. However being in the UK the subscription model's postage is prohibitive, yet I can get it at retailers. However there is no timeline for the new bundle at retail, what would the likely availability be? I would pre-order if it was offered by a UK retailer, which would help Plaid Hat with numbers. My concern is it will be a limited edition and that new content will be hard to acquire. The update kit will be needed for pre 1.5 sets (plenty in retailers) but if I get the new master Red Rains bundle then most of the update kit will be duplicates and looking on-line I do not see a way of differentiating 1.5 sets from older ones.
Question- I ended up ordering a bunch of random packs for this game as, but now that they arrived I now see a lot of the heroes I got requires specific expansion packs. Is it just the dices they require or is there something else to it? It's not easy to get these in Norway it seems 😢 Can you work around these requirements until one actually gets the expansions/dices?
There are 7 magic types in the game, each with corresponding dice types. Those dice are found in the Core Set and deluxe expansions. Core Set - Nature, Ceremonial, Charm, Illusion Song of Soaksend - Sympathy Law of Lions - Divine Breaker of Fate - Time Those are the products you'll need to get all of the dice! The dice are also sold standalone (as well as the above products) at plaidhatgames.com. You can also take a normal D6 and probably print stickers or similar to make your own proxy dice!
@@teamcovenant Great! Thanks for the detailed answer. That helps me a lot to understand what I'm getting into. Would be useful if it had a warning on the front and not the back though that it requires more expansions lol. Thanks again.

32:16 is start for early gang.
Cool! Them adding co-op to the game and seeing this video was the thing I needed to get this game. I've ordered it from our online retailer (Norway).
Gorgeous art, like always.

So much this
Love the addition of new signature cards. Especially for phoenix borns like Maoni, who I generally only run with one copy of their current signature.
Cheers Darren!

Thank you so much Micah! We're really appreciative of you both.

This coop mode is so awesome to see and hear about . 😁
It's a great game mode, they did a fantastic job on it. Cheers, Erishy.
I am soooooo excited for this! Is there any update on the subscription service for UK/EU customers?
Hey Rory, no updates for UK/EU specific customers other than the original subscription.

I may have missed it but, does the illusion dice power have any effect on the chimera dice in any way?
And is it only up to two players?
Is there any point in using exhaust cards on the chimera?
LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!
I already have the master set. I can't find an option to purchase Red Rains expansion on it's own
The first wave of Corpse of Viros will be coming through our Ashes Reborn Subscription: cov.link/ashes-reborn
I wait for review. It looks ok. But i need more reviews especialy for solo playing
Are the cards in the pre built deck new cards or existing?
@@mafoofoo thank you!
