Medium ship is still perfectly viable for this activity - although, to your point, it is getting hard to manage with 4 utility slots. I just completed a run of tissue sampling using my ice-cold Chieftan build. With a Low-Emissions, Thermal spread powerplant, you can stay well below detection levels. I take no heat sinks in the build as the ship is the heat sink. Add a thermal vent laser for good measure, and you are good to go. Take (2) engineered Cuastic Launchers (7 sinks each), TG Pulse neutralyzer and the new Xeno Pulse wave scanner and 4 utility slots is *just* enough. Also take a collector limpet, research limpet and repair limpet. This compromises how many hull reinforcements you can take, but even at 3900'ish hull - It is plenty to get in/out without major issues. Howver, even with 530 m/s boost speed - getting interdicted by a Hunter/Glaive (or even worse, two of them) is litterally the only thing to be concerned about. High-wake is usually the only way out (after your FSD comes back online). Be sure to take a 16 slot Corrosive cargo rack as the tissue samples are caustic and don't forgot those limpets!
I engineered an Orca according to your build but couldn't get anywhere near Taranis. After 5 attempts and being destroyed all 5 times I gave up and started using a Cutter I had previously engineered for that purpose. I was able to reach the Titan on the first try and spent a couple of hours just looking around. The pulsewave scanner seemed to malfunction though because nothing was highlighted when I used it and I tried quite a few times. I got attacked a few times but was able to escape easily because my Cutter can boost and maintain a speed between 489 and 499 m/s. For me the Cutter is my go to ship because of the number of utility and optional slots allowing you to mount a crap ton of hull reinforcements.
@@RicardosGaming When I first got an anaconda it was my go to for especially core mining. I was in for the $1.6 mil per unit void opals. They bought my carrier and a collection of ships.I still have my core miner out of nastsgia. I have yet to find a better ship for this task.
ive been having really good luck using the Mamba. engineered to be freezing cold. its rare that the thargoids find me, and then the Mamba can outrun them in the asteroids, then go back and steal more tissue samples. ive learned you either have to go in with a tank, or something that can outrun the hunters... i used to go in with my corvette, but sometimes the hunters would gang up on me. when i got so damaged and decide to run, they dont let you. they are way too fast.

I have had some luck with an Orca, hull reinforcement, AFMU, repair limpet and critically a module reinforcement package. But I am now grinding rep for a Cutter, because the Orca is very tight on the utility slots and the hull!
Conda is too slow for going to the Maelstrom IMHO… Krait II with 4 Utility slots (Heatsink, Caustic Sink, Thargoid Neutralizer and Xeno Scanner) and fitted with a Corrosion Resistant 4E Cargo Rack, a Xeno Multi Limpet Controller and a Collector Limpet Controller gives you safe passage and unmolested loiter around the Titan with a boost speed of 540+ to just get away from hyperdictions (including outrunning Glaves) and if, for some reason, you accidentally pull agro👍🏻
I was hoping that this scanner would allow us to, while in a Xeno CZ or at a base being attacked by interceptors, to merely use the pulse and it scans all the interceptors in range....instead of the 10,000th manual scan, because our ships computers cant handle keeping the previous 9999 scans data about the interceptors hearts.........."hang on Bob we cant fire at the flowers yet, we know where the hearts are, we can see the hearts on every other petal look, but this ship of ours is soooo fussy"

I have a bias toward the Corvette just 'cause it looks so good. It makes a good passenger rescue ship.

I've always had an issue with only having 4 utility slots on majority of ships. I wish I could have more on different ships.
