- Sometimes I screw up.... But I still have a good time and try to do the right thing... The Santa Fe River camping trip was one I will not forget. The Springs, the Itchetuckenee River and the Suwannee all in two action packed days of adventure on my Gheenoe!

My girl taught me how to fix the meat curl!!! If you cut the end that is curling she called it a fat cord idk but it works for bacon steak pork just about a 1’ slice will do take a sec to flatten but it will or try a bigger slice
Ah interesting. I think I heard somewhere that if you let the meat get to room temp first it won't do it..... I need to try your suggestion though!

Great video! Next time you go down that way be sure you see Ginnie Spring. There are seven springs on the Ginnie Springs property. You dove on Devil's Eye, but missed the one actually called Ginnie Spring.

Love you Trip but please take some cooking tips. Let the fire burn down, don't cook on the open flame. And put the grill over the coals for a while before putting the meat on, to get those grills marks and will stick less.

Also, the house right by the shoals, they used to own Blue Springs until they sold it to the Park Service. Down river from the shoals on river left there was a permit only (free) campground that you booked through water management. Solid spot.

Thanks for the camera / monopod suggestions. I was going to make a youtube and i didnt know what kind of camera to get. Had a gopro but sold it because it wasnt good lol... Also i wonder how the native americans who lived in forida along these clear beautiful springs and creeks and rivers went about their day to day. Did they swim / fish / live along the river? What about when the settlers came to florida in early 1800s -1900s. Imagine when the first settlers discovered these rivers / springs i wonder what they did lol.. i imagine them being astonished by the clear water. i imagine they went for a swim and fished / lived along the river..

Trip, the place you started is literally where I grew up. My parents owned that place about 40 years ago. It was a different name back then. That place with the no wake sign used to be known as Sandy Point, I don't know if that's still the name. My family still lives there, although my dad has passed. I still go back and love that area. There is great fishing in that river also.

I love that area too, although I did not grow up there or in Florida or the America for that matter(I grew up overseas as my parents worked for the State Department) I discovered it when my dad/mom retired in Gainesville. My dad and I love fishing that area. I just purchased a 13' gheenoe and will be looking to do more adventuring up in that area more...now that I am retired from the coast guard

Okay trip this is the first time I had to put a thumbs down on your video not because of the video itself is because of the way how it was constantly cutting off every 10 minutes and going to something else I was extremely pissed off I don't know if it's something you did and I don't know if it's something that TH-cam did

Really no snorkeling (free diving) allowed in the in that one spring? That's crazy. I've been to that spring before several years ago with in my boat. We tied the boat off at the entrance and walked up the run. You didn't go to Naked Ed's?

Hey Trip, Awesome video(s) - grew up on the Santa Fe - still lots more to see - The River Rise, Suck Holes, and a few more springs up river - Would have been sweet to see you visit with Naked Ed at Lilly Springs (do not think he is around any more). Amazing how much this river changes - High dark water - low clear water and all points in between.

You should drag the c dory down to Suwannee in November and hang out with the go fast boats. Ellie rays is a big gathering point on The river.
You should come out with a potato chip dip and market it as "Trip Dip". People could sit at home watching your videos and dip their chip in TRIP DIP!
You really shouldn't put any motorboat in a spring head just think if everybody did it and then it's ruined

Hmmm did you buy new? ABout your only option is to sell and get another. I always suggest buying your first few kayaks used so you can sell them for what you paid for them if you don't enjoy them.....
you need a truck tube a rope and a anchor to chill in the river the truck tube is also fun with some fins on
The Santa Fe is awesome, but stay away on weekends; it's a madhouse! Production wise this was definitely your best video to date! And the new camera is huge quality improvement. 👍

But most any "double" hammock should do you good. But the longer the better so you can have more room to get flat and comfy. The Ninox is very long....

My wife and I are planning to do this camping trip in a canoe. She is worried about getting in trouble for sleeping on River bank... We contacted the campgrounds in the area and they are completely full. What is your suggestion of starting and take out point for a two night camping in A canoe?
Well.... If you do it, you'd need to be low key like I was. Setting up at near dark and breaking camp early.

Enjoyed the video trip. Obviously that dji camera is has better definition than the go pro hero 7. Underwater shots looked great. Is it fully water proof or did you need a case
Glad to hear that Titan! Yep, I think the DJI is superior... It is fully waterproof without a case which is why I'm able to get good audio unlike the GoPros older than the Hero 5's.... Love it!

When I heard 'Trip Dip,' I immediately pictured you as a Dairy Queen worker yelling TRIP DIP on every dip cone... Interested in your assessment of GoPro vs your DJI. What settings you use when filming, editing, uploading, etc. Would love to see a vid on that setup/use. Or you can just come up to Troy and I'll buy you a cone at the DQ... ;) Great work, trip. Oh heck yea! lol That's funny.... I'm really liking the DJI vs my older Hero 5, but I'd still like it more than the 7 with that screen on the front... Game changer for me. My settings are pretty basic - 1080 at 24fps for most of what I do. I focus on the content more than the technical quality of the video. I edit with Davinci Resolve and upload at the same 1080 24fps in MP4 format.
I really don't know a whole lot about all that technical stuff. I know how to Get Out There and have a good time...... So that's what I focus on. Haha! More of a Blizzard fan myself ;) But I try to stay away from that stuff as much as I can, it's a weakness of mine lol (ice cream)

Hey Trip, Try trimming the motor up quite a bit before crossing shallow areas and shoals. Just my two cents.
I was trimming it constantly ;) If you pay attention you can hear it being trimmed and a time or two I show me trimming it with my foot ;)

First off sorry if I missed it, I don't get to watch every video. But I did scan through for an hour before commenting here.
I wanna buy a Gheenoe set up just like yours, that boat is perfect for my needs. So can you do a video with where to get and what everything is called on your setup. Am not talking about supplies, only stuff attached to boat, like for examble the stand up bar. And the classic, did it come with those rod holders, and the middle seat with live well? or was that extra stuff like that. Thank you.
Michael, I bought this one used so I'm sure where all the individual components come from. If you look through these two sites you can find most all the stuff that makes up my boat. www.customgheenoe.com/ www.gheenoe.net/goodies.html
My suggestion would be to try to find one used that is setup like you want, that's what I did anyhow. Then you can use it for a while and see if it's the right boat for you. If it is then you can consider buying a new one setup how you like.
Basically as far as i Know all of the custom features on this boat came that way from the factory.
