@@ScenicFights right and just the amount of control and awareness he has over his body and muscle memory. like watching his ip man series, i didn’t see any moves from his other martial disciplines slip into his form. like normally when people practice more than one martial art, moves from one discipline sometimes show up when you’re practicing another, but i don’t see that with him

Flashpoint was made like 15 or 16 years ago... It isn't like he just learned it or something. He can't keep using BJJ in all the fights cause audiences will get bored. Different movies tend to emphasize different martial arts.
To honest Donnie’s film got better, when @CryptikSoul was his stunt double as you can from this film. He also did Kung Fu Killer, The Monkey King, Ice Man 3D, XXX, Star Wars Rogue One, Ip Man 3 and 4. I mean this guy is literally unstoppable and has worked on loads of films with Marvel and DC too. Definitely one to watch out for, he even released two rap albums under his name. I wonder what he’s up to next! 👀
When that always drunk cousin or brother in law start messing and ruinning the sunday bbq and you had enough of him. Next thing you know your dad and uncles are pulling both a part while one aunt is screamming "Stop them!", and somebody else is "you got what you deserve boy". And yes, happened me, I was so tired of my now exgf brother.
The thing I like about this fight sequence is how it shows that fighting is never as precise as how it's practiced in a controlled environment. Many times, you may not get the hold perfect immediately. Sometimes, you may get it partially and have to work it out to finish it. Sometimes you have to abandon it completely to go to the next available position. That's one of the first things I learned when I was taking BJJ. That nothing works as smoothly as you practice it, but in constantly practicing it you learn how to work it to hopefully make it work. And then going from a controlled environment of a padded floor in a class to the real world where you have cars and fences and poles and other obstacles that will play into a fight. Donnie Yen brings that realism to light in this scene.
That's called you fucking up. In real fights you wait for the opportunity and fight the best you either that be defense or offense. But when the picture arise take it. Lol of course fights aren't perfect it's two people what you expect.
Not even close to realistic. They are fighting like they are in the cage with rules. That's why the review is also unrealistic. Where is the eye poke, biting, nose poke, throwing dirt in the eye. nut kick? Where is the rabbit punches, headbutts, neck punch?

Special ID final fight is easily the most realistic unarmed fight scene in cinema history given the scenario of 1 vs 1 , both are capable fighters. Several hits are slipping and there are so many dirty punches. This really represents realism because in a real fight where both combatants are proficient, it is hard to land clean hits. Typical movie fight scenes include too many heavy attacks landing perfectly and rhythmically. Donnie Yen's Special ID is antithetical to that. What makes Special ID so legit is more than just the techniques shown, but the application of the techniques and the context of non-ideal conditions of a real fight also shown in the film.
Bill Widjaja Huang edit: sorry bill, I used your post to nitpick your choice of words/terminology, didn't mean to attack or make it seem like it was an attack on you or anyone who thinks differently, just trying to help. It's just a pet peeve of mine and I assume many still hold such thoughts when it comes to realistic self defense "on the streets" vs combat sports. what's a "dirty punch" or move? No such thing in a real life fight, ie defending yourself In real life from attacker who could theoretically kill or seriously injure you with one move. Why anyone would restrict their skill set or techniques in some kind of "honor code" and pay respect for your attacker trying to kill you(you just assume this, if you don't, then just run away or don't fight to begin with and give him the money or feign submission and let him rub his ego or whatever) doesn't make any sense to me. In you train real martial arts. Those moves and techniques should be your PRIMARY moves. When he has the guy in triangle, why strike when you can just gouge his eyes out? Or in any position where the head is locked and vulnerable.. If you can strike the head, you can gouge the eyes,,no chance to miss or damage your hand. Game over if he can't see, you can even run away after if you don't want to seriously injure him or kill him or put him to sleep. No eye attacks while having super advantageous body control just means it's a sport to me and not real self defence. People can say it takes no skill, but why wouldn't you combine it WITH YOUR grappling/trapping and other striking skills? Especially for smaller and weaker people, or women. It's the great equaliser and super effective. I never seen it used in any movies or fight scenes when in reality it is so hard to block and so easy and effective to do. You can just touch their eyes with one finger and do damage, doesn't even have to be a strike with a snap so less chance for self injury with incorrect strike connection, which in a real fight is bound to happen with both moving erratically and at random angles trying to dodge, etc etc. Even more so if the guy has a knife or weapon, which in real life, you have to assume the worst and that they do have one(better to overestimate than underestimate your opponent). No one will know if he's trying to kill you so you have to assume he is. No one can know if he has a knife in his pocket so have to assume they do have it. No one can know if they are "honourable" and won't do "dirty moves" so you always have to assume they will. Anything else than the above is not a real fight and just playing, but playing seriously. Might as well just run away and go home if you're not 100% committed to fully fight with intention to kill or be killed. But if I can't run and I'm trapped, you had better use every single tool you have, anything else is just stupid. Get rid of such thoughts like dirty moves, it only hinders you in a real fight. /rant Love the channel by the way, recently discovered the channel and subbed. This is what I used to do growing up, learning from Bruce Lee movies and books, good to see it come full circle with "pros" and sharing it with the world. How ever do you guys recommend eye attacks? Because I think that's still really neglected and such "dirty move" mentality should not exist if we're talking about realistic self defense vs combat sport fighting which are two different things. It seems like you guys are teaching realistic self defense, so yeah. Might want to incorporate that into your skillset, we are all students of the game and never too late to learn something new or add something new(or get rid of something old that was bad or wrong). @@ex0duzz you misunderstood the definition of dirty punch. The dirty punch im referring here has NOTHING to do with what you said. It refers to the force transfer of a hit. It refers to the boxing or MMA terminology of clean shot, which means a hit that transfer its force effectively ( cleanly connects thus the name clean). "Dirty" just means the reverse, a hit that doesnt connect its force effectively. I suggest you revise your comment because it literally had nothing to with my original statement.
@@AZ-wc5ot more like 70% realistic if you see two expert combatants go at it. Seriously it's really hard to land a punch on someone whos skilled without the fear of getting countered or tackled. Even just to land it without any consequence or retaliation it's already damn hard. What makes Special ID really good that it includes the non-idealism and quite realistic physics in the film. ( not just in the choreography)
@@ex0duzz im not trying to be mean or a smartass here. But as for your idea of gouging the eyes during triangle position, hmmmm I don't think it is easy. The moment you try to gouge someone eyes, the guy you triangled on would probably spaz so hard at the moment when one of your hands will lose control of the opponents head, which eventually break your triangle firmness. Which would probably lead to higher chance of the opponents to escape the triangle. In addition to that, it is hard to utilize fine motor control during the struggle just to maintain the triangle tight while worrying of being reversed or escape attempt. But again, I would love to see eye gouge being utilized in an appropriate instance in a film fight. I can remember, there is one prison fight scene from the serial "Banshee" where the protagonist uses eye gouging in a quite plausible attempt. I forgot what episode was that but you can search on google maybe.

I started studying all different types of martial arts when I was 13, almost 30 years ago. Jeet Kune Do was my favorite (although I was taking Taekwondo at the time)... That was until I saw Royce Gracie completely DOMINATE during the first U.F.C.'S, so my favorite quickly became Brazilian Jujitsu... I was SO enamored with fighting, and martial arts in general, that I was one of a small few ( in my group of friends) that would stay training at the school up into the wee hours of the morning (most times till around 2:00am). We were entrusted with the keys so that we could clean up, and get the place ready for testing day's and stuff like that.... I'm an old man now,, as far as fighting goes anyway. But I still work out, and I still feel the passion for it in my heart! Anyway, I guess I said ALL THAT, to say THIS: ...I am SO GLAD that I found your channel!! I've seen a LOT of "how to fight" videos on TH-cam, and they're MOSTLY all FULL OF $#IT (compared to YOU)! A fighter can ALWAYS tell if another fighter KNOWS what they're talking about, or if they just want to LOOK tough (or get attention), and have people THINK that they are proficient at a certain thing... You have a very direct, and "no $#it" way of explaining (and breaking down) "simple" AND "complex" movements. All the while, showing that "the shortest distance between two points... is simplicity"! You're very articulate in explaining the economy of motion (with the body),, but NOT confusing in the process. And I haven't seen ONE THING (as I've looked through your videos), that is "ineffective" or "superficial"... You REALLY know what the hell you're talking about! Keep up the GREAT WORK, as I am off to go "binge watch" ALL your $#it now! lol (SUBSCRIBED)!! 👍👍
This channel deserves waaay more recognition. They are giving out free knowledge/lessons that people paid years for. In some schools you dont get to learn leg locks till you're a brown belt
Agreed. I always avoided Special ID because of the critics' ratings and people saying it didn't have good fight scenes, but after watching this breakdown I'm now very compelled to watch the film. Seems like a cool movie. Never should have listened to the critics.
This is by far the best breakdown series I’ve seen related to fighting. You both are very good at explaining techniques in a straightforward way. Logan sometimes looks a bit apprehensive (understandably) when a technique is about to be demonstrated on him but he’s a good sport about it. It’s important to have a good sparring partner you trust since those holds can be very painful. I didn’t like practicing with certain people in Karate since they might do the moves a bit quickly or forcefully and that crap sucks (getting an aggressive arm bar or my wrist twisted quickly always sucked).
We really appreciate the comment and we are always looking for new ways to improve the series. Logan and Chad are best friends, and Logan certainly trust Chad enough to have him practice these maneuvers. I agree with you, it sucks having a sparring partner that is way too aggressive just for the hell of it sometimes it takes time to find the right person to train with.
I agree. Donnie Yen really became a superstar post 2005 starting with SPL: Sha Pa Lang and onward when he started mixing modern martial arts into his action films. He was already well-known to martial arts fans with Iron Monkey, Hero, and Once Upon A Time In China II, but he really got much bigger post 2005. Then of course, Ip Man in 2008 turned him to a worldwide mega star.

I actually do bjj and stumbled upon this! Cool to see the hook thrown in before mounting to prevent opponent from taking my back and securing the mount from the reverse scarf hold position!
Donnie Yen has always been one of the best in martial arts films. Best part(maybe the only part I liked) of the contemporary line of Star Wars films was him finally getting some big time shine. Insane that he is nearly 60.

I just want to say that I found this channel the other day and immediately fell in love. They post quality videos and it is so cool to see that they are getting thousands of subscribers a day because I think that they deserve the attention. My favorite parts of the videos are where they are casually talking when the other person is in a seemingly very uncomfortable position😂
I think the being held against the car part is pretty plausible, Matt Hughes picked up Carlos newton while in the triangle and was against the cage for quite a while, reason being newton was hanging onto the cage with his head and arm, until the ref stopped him from doing so.
Really cool breakdown. But one thing that is a disconnect from actual fighting/combat sports and movie; is perfect tight technique. Donnie yen explains in an interview that in film, punches and kicks need to be wide and loopy to look good. It is all about aesthetics in movies, not actual fighting.
Totally see where you're coming from. What we like about Donnie Yen is that he manages to combine both actual fight techniques with flashy movie fight choreography. You can tell he tries to keep it as realistic as possible while keep it entertaining.
This really explains how a BJJ fighter has command of body physics. I'm a lot more concerned now if I ever get into a bit of a scuffle with an experienced grappler! Thanks for opening my eyes! Seeing as I won't know as much, my best best will be to be unpredictable and switch things up faster than he can recalculate. That way we both wont know whats going on.

Once you have some idea of what you are doing with grappling positional awareness, you don't have to be fearful of the switch up in a scuffle, just respectful. But what do I know, hopefully you can get in a learning enviroment and see I am not bullshitting you with the proper trio of training partner, a mind for going slow and safely while following clear and concise instructions, and the third person wealth of experience and knowledge of the instructor near by, so you can put in the practice that the respect for one's body mechanics comes from.
@@CanadianWolverine No I do understand, and I agree for the most part, but my fighting days are done. I'm 46 now but I have trained waaay back in my 20's for quite some time in Kyokushin and TKD, but things have changed now and you need a mix of martial arts these days. Gone are the days of traditional styles (for the most part). I could probably still hold my own against the average thug. But against these guys doing the break downs, it's rando time! Coz as soon as they get me on the ground, pretty sure they could put me in an oven and bake themselves a bitch-cake

Sir, I really want you to breakdown the man from nowhere final knife fight. It is truly one of the best ever. I may have to say it is the best and the most realistic knife fight ever
I love the break downs and step by step analysis of these fight scenes, not only does it provide some great information regarding how to appropriately apply these moves but we also get to learn what can happen when they go wrong. By having these awesome fight scenes analyzed like they are it actually can give you a better sense of what's happening during the scenes and allow you to appreciate the effort that was put in by the actors. This is a great show. I follow another channel that breakdown famous fights and matches from boxing to MMA and this one is right up there with the movie scene breakdowns.

in the turtle scene it also looked like donnie was using his legs to drive his body back and tuck the guys head down as donnie folded the guys neck with his body so the grip would weaken. as his head is under his shoulders. I only mention that because it's weird, that's a thing I learned from muay thai grappling, a major part of lederit is when you're locked, no matter what the situation is, a great way out, is to find a way to tuck their head below their shoulders, that puts alot of tension on the shoulders, and neck, making them have to drive further into your chest or back to keep a stable grip, but also making it more easy to put even more strain on those same points, plus it opens up knee strikes from the front, elbow strikes to the base of the skull, spine, or dropping your body weight to the ground to smash their face in from the back, to hook your arms around their shoulders and reverse the lock, and put them at a major disadvantage. I dunno if donnie actually practiced muay thai, or if that's just how the scene turned out, but that was kinda cool to me actually.
The turtle you guys talk about is used a lot of times during wrestling. I like to leg ride a lot from that position. Rule of thumb my coach told me is keep your arms under the armpit, not over.

Special ID final fight is easily the most realistic unarmed fight scene in cinema history given the scenario of 1 vs 1 , both are capable fighters. Several hits are slipping and there are so many dirty punches. This really represents realism because in a real fight where both combatants are proficient, it is hard to land clean hits. Typical movie fight scenes include too many heavy attacks landing perfectly and rhythmically. Donnie Yen's Special ID is antithetical to that. What makes Special ID so legit is more than just the techniques shown, but the application of the techniques and the context of non-ideal conditions of a real fight also shown in the film.
Bill Widjaja Huang edit: sorry bill, I used your post to nitpick your choice of words/terminology, didn't mean to attack or make it seem like it was an attack on you or anyone who thinks differently, just trying to help. It's just a pet peeve of mine and I assume many still hold such thoughts when it comes to realistic self defense "on the streets" vs combat sports.
what's a "dirty punch" or move?
No such thing in a real life fight, ie defending yourself In real life from attacker who could theoretically kill or seriously injure you with one move. Why anyone would restrict their skill set or techniques in some kind of "honor code" and pay respect for your attacker trying to kill you(you just assume this, if you don't, then just run away or don't fight to begin with and give him the money or feign submission and let him rub his ego or whatever) doesn't make any sense to me.
In you train real martial arts. Those moves and techniques should be your PRIMARY moves. When he has the guy in triangle, why strike when you can just gouge his eyes out? Or in any position where the head is locked and vulnerable.. If you can strike the head, you can gouge the eyes,,no chance to miss or damage your hand. Game over if he can't see, you can even run away after if you don't want to seriously injure him or kill him or put him to sleep.
No eye attacks while having super advantageous body control just means it's a sport to me and not real self defence.
People can say it takes no skill, but why wouldn't you combine it WITH YOUR grappling/trapping and other striking skills? Especially for smaller and weaker people, or women. It's the great equaliser and super effective. I never seen it used in any movies or fight scenes when in reality it is so hard to block and so easy and effective to do. You can just touch their eyes with one finger and do damage, doesn't even have to be a strike with a snap so less chance for self injury with incorrect strike connection, which in a real fight is bound to happen with both moving erratically and at random angles trying to dodge, etc etc.
Even more so if the guy has a knife or weapon, which in real life, you have to assume the worst and that they do have one(better to overestimate than underestimate your opponent). No one will know if he's trying to kill you so you have to assume he is. No one can know if he has a knife in his pocket so have to assume they do have it. No one can know if they are "honourable" and won't do "dirty moves" so you always have to assume they will.
Anything else than the above is not a real fight and just playing, but playing seriously. Might as well just run away and go home if you're not 100% committed to fully fight with intention to kill or be killed.
But if I can't run and I'm trapped, you had better use every single tool you have, anything else is just stupid. Get rid of such thoughts like dirty moves, it only hinders you in a real fight.

Love the channel by the way, recently discovered the channel and subbed. This is what I used to do growing up, learning from Bruce Lee movies and books, good to see it come full circle with "pros" and sharing it with the world.
How ever do you guys recommend eye attacks? Because I think that's still really neglected and such "dirty move" mentality should not exist if we're talking about realistic self defense vs combat sport fighting which are two different things. It seems like you guys are teaching realistic self defense, so yeah. Might want to incorporate that into your skillset, we are all students of the game and never too late to learn something new or add something new(or get rid of something old that was bad or wrong).

@@ex0duzz you misunderstood the definition of dirty punch. The dirty punch im referring here has NOTHING to do with what you said. It refers to the force transfer of a hit. It refers to the boxing or MMA terminology of clean shot, which means a hit that transfer its force effectively ( cleanly connects thus the name clean). "Dirty" just means the reverse, a hit that doesnt connect its force effectively. I suggest you revise your comment because it literally had nothing to with my original statement.
@@AZ-wc5ot more like 70% realistic if you see two expert combatants go at it. Seriously it's really hard to land a punch on someone whos skilled without the fear of getting countered or tackled. Even just to land it without any consequence or retaliation it's already damn hard. What makes Special ID really good that it includes the non-idealism and quite realistic physics in the film. ( not just in the choreography)
@@ex0duzz im not trying to be mean or a smartass here. But as for your idea of gouging the eyes during triangle position, hmmmm I don't think it is easy. The moment you try to gouge someone eyes, the guy you triangled on would probably spaz so hard at the moment when one of your hands will lose control of the opponents head, which eventually break your triangle firmness. Which would probably lead to higher chance of the opponents to escape the triangle. In addition to that, it is hard to utilize fine motor control during the struggle just to maintain the triangle tight while worrying of being reversed or escape attempt. But again, I would love to see eye gouge being utilized in an appropriate instance in a film fight. I can remember, there is one prison fight scene from the serial "Banshee" where the protagonist uses eye gouging in a quite plausible attempt. I forgot what episode was that but you can search on google maybe.
There's a really good knife fight in "The Man From Nowhere" towards the end. It's perfect for a breakdown!

I started studying all different types of martial arts when I was 13, almost 30 years ago. Jeet Kune Do was my favorite (although I was taking Taekwondo at the time)... That was until I saw Royce Gracie completely DOMINATE during the first U.F.C.'S, so my favorite quickly became Brazilian Jujitsu... I was SO enamored with fighting, and martial arts in general, that I was one of a small few ( in my group of friends) that would stay training at the school up into the wee hours of the morning (most times till around 2:00am). We were entrusted with the keys so that we could clean up, and get the place ready for testing day's and stuff like that.... I'm an old man now,, as far as fighting goes anyway. But I still work out, and I still feel the passion for it in my heart! Anyway, I guess I said ALL THAT, to say THIS: ...I am SO GLAD that I found your channel!! I've seen a LOT of "how to fight" videos on TH-cam, and they're MOSTLY all FULL OF $#IT (compared to YOU)! A fighter can ALWAYS tell if another fighter KNOWS what they're talking about, or if they just want to LOOK tough (or get attention), and have people THINK that they are proficient at a certain thing... You have a very direct, and "no $#it" way of explaining (and breaking down) "simple" AND "complex" movements. All the while, showing that "the shortest distance between two points... is simplicity"! You're very articulate in explaining the economy of motion (with the body),, but NOT confusing in the process. And I haven't seen ONE THING (as I've looked through your videos), that is "ineffective" or "superficial"... You REALLY know what the hell you're talking about! Keep up the GREAT WORK, as I am off to go "binge watch" ALL your $#it now! lol

This channel deserves waaay more recognition. They are giving out free knowledge/lessons that people paid years for. In some schools you dont get to learn leg locks till you're a brown belt

Agreed. I always avoided Special ID because of the critics' ratings and people saying it didn't have good fight scenes, but after watching this breakdown I'm now very compelled to watch the film. Seems like a cool movie. Never should have listened to the critics.

This is by far the best breakdown series I’ve seen related to fighting. You both are very good at explaining techniques in a straightforward way.
Logan sometimes looks a bit apprehensive (understandably) when a technique is about to be demonstrated on him but he’s a good sport about it. It’s important to have a good sparring partner you trust since those holds can be very painful. I didn’t like practicing with certain people in Karate since they might do the moves a bit quickly or forcefully and that crap sucks (getting an aggressive arm bar or my wrist twisted quickly always sucked).
We really appreciate the comment and we are always looking for new ways to improve the series. Logan and Chad are best friends, and Logan certainly trust Chad enough to have him practice these maneuvers. I agree with you, it sucks having a sparring partner that is way too aggressive just for the hell of it sometimes it takes time to find the right person to train with.
I dare say that Donnie's fights are some of the best if not the best in cinema history.
I agree. Donnie Yen really became a superstar post 2005 starting with SPL: Sha Pa Lang and onward when he started mixing modern martial arts into his action films. He was already well-known to martial arts fans with Iron Monkey, Hero, and Once Upon A Time In China II, but he really got much bigger post 2005. Then of course, Ip Man in 2008 turned him to a worldwide mega star.

Donnie Yen has always been one of the best in martial arts films. Best part(maybe the only part I liked) of the contemporary line of Star Wars films was him finally getting some big time shine. Insane that he is nearly 60.
Donnie Yen was the best part of Rogue One. I hope they do a prequel with his character (and of course continue to have Donnie Yen play Chirrut Îmwe)

I just want to say that I found this channel the other day and immediately fell in love. They post quality videos and it is so cool to see that they are getting thousands of subscribers a day because I think that they deserve the attention. My favorite parts of the videos are where they are casually talking when the other person is in a seemingly very uncomfortable position😂
I think the being held against the car part is pretty plausible, Matt Hughes picked up Carlos newton while in the triangle and was against the cage for quite a while, reason being newton was hanging onto the cage with his head and arm, until the ref stopped him from doing so.
Really cool breakdown.
But one thing that is a disconnect from actual fighting/combat sports and movie; is perfect tight technique.
Donnie yen explains in an interview that in film, punches and kicks need to be wide and loopy to look good. It is all about aesthetics in movies, not actual fighting.
Totally see where you're coming from. What we like about Donnie Yen is that he manages to combine both actual fight techniques with flashy movie fight choreography. You can tell he tries to keep it as realistic as possible while keep it entertaining.

This really explains how a BJJ fighter has command of body physics. I'm a lot more concerned now if I ever get into a bit of a scuffle with an experienced grappler! Thanks for opening my eyes! Seeing as I won't know as much, my best best will be to be unpredictable and switch things up faster than he can recalculate. That way we both wont know whats going on.

IIRC, there have been a few UFC fighters over the years who similarly used crossing T or L foot work and intense practice of single leg take down defense. Once you have some idea of what you are doing with grappling positional awareness, you don't have to be fearful of the switch up in a scuffle, just respectful.
But what do I know, hopefully you can get in a learning enviroment and see I am not bullshitting you with the proper trio of training partner, a mind for going slow and safely while following clear and concise instructions, and the third person wealth of experience and knowledge of the instructor near by, so you can put in the practice that the respect for one's body mechanics comes from.
@@CanadianWolverine No I do understand, and I agree for the most part, but my fighting days are done. I'm 46 now but I have trained waaay back in my 20's for quite some time in Kyokushin and TKD, but things have changed now and you need a mix of martial arts these days. Gone are the days of traditional styles (for the most part). I could probably still hold my own against the average thug. But against these guys doing the break downs, it's rando time! Coz as soon as they get me on the ground, pretty sure they could put me in an oven and bake themselves a bitch-cake

I love the break downs and step by step analysis of these fight scenes, not only does it provide some great information regarding how to appropriately apply these moves but we also get to learn what can happen when they go wrong. By having these awesome fight scenes analyzed like they are it actually can give you a better sense of what's happening during the scenes and allow you to appreciate the effort that was put in by the actors. I only mention that because it's weird, that's a thing I learned from muay thai grappling, a major part of lederit is when you're locked, no matter what the situation is, a great way out, is to find a way to tuck their head below their shoulders, that puts alot of tension on the shoulders, and neck, making them have to drive further into your chest or back to keep a stable grip, but also making it more easy to put even more strain on those same points, plus it opens up knee strikes from the front, elbow strikes to the base of the skull, spine, or dropping your body weight to the ground to smash their face in from the back, to hook your arms around their shoulders and reverse the lock, and put them at a major disadvantage.
I dunno if donnie actually practiced muay thai, or if that's just how the scene turned out, but that was kinda cool to me actually.

The turtle you guys talk about is used a lot of times during wrestling. I like to leg ride a lot from that position. Rule of thumb my coach told me is keep your arms under the armpit, not over.
