    I just love your reviews - objective, informative and entertaining. To me, you are the best reviewer in the business. Aston Martins have always been my dream car. Alas, I've never been able to afford one. So, my 550i will have to do! Cheers from New Zealand.

    2:20 "does it sound like an Aston-Martin?" Nope, it sounds like every other turbocharged V8 of that displacement be it from Audi, BM or Merc. Slury and farty exhaust.

    • @robc6391
      @robc6391 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Pretty much. Does it make noise and pops&bangs? Yes. Is there a melody to it? Nope, none at all, just noisy burping machine. I get the need for this car and completely understand the reason why is Aston doing it, but it doesn't change the fact that it is a "soulless pseudo offroad machine with farting turbo V8 noises." Not really what I associate with the brand.

    Great review Henry. Looks like a good looking, well made SUV with some Aston characteristics. Not sure if it is special/outrageous enough to appeal to a prospective Urus or Bentayga owner or too expensive to appeal to those considering a top end Range Rover or Cayenne. If Aston had priced it £10k-20k lower than the V8 Bentayga then it would have made both buyer types think twice. While new Astons have never been cheap it will be interesting to see if enough are sold to keep the company solvent, or if they mainly become a used bargain in 3-5 years time like DB11, Rapide etc.

    Still definitely not the type of car that appeals to me, but as far as sporty SUVs go I think it’s a very good looking one. And if it performs like all the reviews are saying as well then I can’t knock it. Hope they sell boat loads of them because we need Aston Martin around

    I sincerely hope the DBX is for Aston Martin what the Cayenne was for Porsche. An enormous success which helped to save the brand. As long as this means that we get all the Vantages, DBS, Vanquishs, Valkyries and whatever there is planned for the future, they can and should build and sell as much SUVs as they can.

    We don't get the Kuga here in the US, but the front end is kind of a mash-up of different Ford vehicles. Reminds me more of a mix between a Fusion grill, the DRLs look like a smaller version of the ones on my Edge, as well as the way the hood/front fenders are somewhat similar in shape to the Edge.

    Very nice but I don't like the big blob at the top of the windscreen which houses the guidance cameras and sensors it looks messy. A lot of high end cars have them or have the cameras in the grill which look bad too. I know they are important but i wish they could be hidden in the headlight cluster or wing mirrors maybe central above the wiper or either side of the number plate.
