That's actually very reassuring, as a pupil of yours. One American President, opined "When you're through change, you're through!" and so, as a coach, that's great!!! The other quote to consider, is from Theodore Roosevelt, who said "When you're going through hell, keep going!". Brilliant! And a further quote "Unlike my review at the beginning of the year, there's no quick fixes in this game" SAS someone November 2024 ! Absolutely Simon!!! Thats great, actually! I can think of nothing better than to have a coach who is forever "growing" that's how it should be! Why? Because your students will grow with you! I'll be back after Christmas!
I've watched a lot of reviews for this upgraded product and this is a very good one. I've used the original product for over a year and it performs well, and this upgrade is a huge improvement. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a review on how you can put this device on your trail wrist which actually helped me get where I needed to be at the top of my swing, much more so that when I left it on my lead wrist.
This is by far the best review and guidance for the Hack Motion. I've been frustrated and disappointed with mine for the reason you mentioned as the first downside. The device doesn't know what the rest of your body is doing. If you don't have that right then good luck getting into the ranges that the software wants you to be in. Now that I've gotten some in-person instruction and corrected a lot of the body mechanics it might be time to revisit the device. My swing tends to have little wrist movement. I'm typically low teens with my extension at address, flat at the top, and plus or minus 5 at impact. The software seems to want me to have a much larger difference between extension at address and flexion at impact. To me that requires to much manipulation and doesn't seem to be the right thing for me to do. Thanks for getting more in depth. I'll give this a go again.
I’m ordering one of these now. I have recently started to lose some distance and I think it’s cause of cupping my wrist so this should hopefully get me back on track.
At my age, I will be 60 in a few months, a swing that doesn't put stress on the body is key, I need to able to walk off the 18th green and if necessary play the following day, not crawl off the green and need 2 days to recover. I have spent the last 3 years with a coach trying to change 45+ years of bad swing habits. When the swing is that ingrained it takes a lot of time to make the changes stick and you have to accept that your results, in terms of ball flight, will get worse before it gets better. If the hackmotion device can speed up the process of getting changes to stick then it is worth it. Cost is the equivalent of 2 or 3 lessons so ask yourself this question - how often does your coach have to repeat the same lesson in slightly different ways for a change to have a chance to stick? In my case more than a few, I guess I am a slow learner
I like the Hack Motion, but I have reservations with it as well. I'm a big fan of tech. The issue or lack of confidence I have in it is the fact that if your body, arms, club any of it aren't in the correct positions or at least remotely close it doesn't matter if you get the right wrist conditions. For me personally I was similar to you at one time. I'm older than you now and have had some injuries. But I used to have a cupped wrist and did all of that flexing to square it up. I used to hit it a mile before that was a thing with that cupped wrist. I have the hand eye coordination that I could make it work. As I've gotten older the way I generated speed caused injuries. The way I generated that speed required the cupped wrist. I see a lot of my old swing in yours. I figured out my body needed to be in a better more loaded positions in the backswing. Those better positions facilitated better wrist conditions with minimal effort. Meaning I didn't really have to work on it, it was more of a byproduct efficiency. Our mind is a powerful instrument. Your mind subconsciously will make corrections to your swing to simply hit the ball, because that is the desired outcome. While I have no doubt the device helped you. I would suspect it was because of more efficient body positions than an effort to really change your wrist conditions. The work you did to change your wrists forced your body to get better is the point.
Could you give tips on how to still manage to get out of the "cup" when you overswing and get down to the desired position? I'm trying, but I can't find the right way.
I pulled the trigger on getting the core version. Gonna work on my swing over the winter and hopefully lose less balls next year. 5 dozen a season is brutal.
Somewhat unique question, but I have a totally fused left wrist - is hack motion not going to be of benefit? I can still activate wrist hinge and club release primarily through my right wrist but I'm very much on the fence if it would in fact be beneficial or not! Thanks in advance if you see this!
Great video, just Subscribed. I bought the Hack Motion with Core software version. I'm a 10 handicap and hit the ball relatively far for my age (53 years old)(Driver - 295, 7I-175, 58* - 105). My problem has always been inconsistency with irons, fat and thin shots. I have a slight over the top swing and have been told I'm all arms. My question is I've done the diagnostic 3 times now and wonder how the software assigns the angle limits for address, top, and impact. The reason I ask is I CAN'T Pass the first drill....LoL. The P6 to impact drill. I can't get into the correct impact angle. I know it's me but I just want to make sure I'm doing it right by doing the diagnostic session (10 swings) and trying to hit the angles it suggests afterward? Thanks for the time you put into making this content!!!
I would start with the core level to be honest mate. What I used for the majority of my practice. Will be using the pro data a lot more this year to further my swing and as you say upgrade in the future. 👍
@ Really appreciate the advice! It’s great to hear that the Core is enough to get started with. I’ve spent a lot of time getting my backswing in order but I can feel my wrist angles breaking down in the transition - hoping this helps
What is the difference between the different models since the price is more than double plus the subscription fee. It seems to only measure one thing which is your wrist angle
The sensor is the same. The differences is the data. For example base is swing but next upgrade includes putting but it’s still the same device. Also it’s all one time purchase, no subscriptions
Great review, was thinking of purchasing but not sure having watched this. 13 handicap , but cupped wrist like you described. Driver carries about 220 but seeking consistency rather than distance. Problem is I’m 55 so mobility not going to improve. Would you recommend for someone of that profile?
Thanks for the message! Wrist mobility is crucial for this device. Obviously you have got down to a good handicap, so you will be able to get the feeling well with it. But if your body physically can’t get in that position then it won’t help. That being said I have seen a lot of clients gain flexibility in certain areas by stretching them out frequently and that in self has gained them a lot of consistency and power. Happy for you to face time me next week and can screen you mate. 👍
Hi Simon been a while watch all your stuff, love it, this is more than intriguing , so youre advocating a kind of "Stack and tilt"?> with a bowed wrist at contact?Or have i missed the point, please explain for us old dumb numpties??
Thank you mate, To be honest I wouldn’t recommend any particular style for anyone and depends what that golfer can physically work with. However the main focus for me is reducing the amount of forearm rotation I have in the downswing as was way to high at one point and having a flatter wrist position has definitely helped that. You can over do this move also! Hence why my ball flights become much lower and without my speed be difficult to get the ball in the air. Film your swing mate and email it to me and can have a look. 👍
As an amateur who hasn’t taken any lessons would it be better to just suck it up and take let’s say 10 lessons or just buy this? Great content as always by the way!
How long have you been playing? I would say lessons first so you can have someone diagnose what your biggest faults are. However it is very good at giving a lot of correct feelings. My only concern is without a few lessons first you might lose confidence quickly with it, thinking you’re not doing it correctly when the shots aren’t going where you want them to. But in fact you are practicing the correct positions. Hope that makes sense mate.
@ I appreciate the feedback and yea I get what your saying. Next on my list is getting lessons. I’ve been playing now for about a year and half and I’m just now able to break 90 every 5th game or so. I know that’s a pretty good thing to do but really want to hunt that 80 down and then get to even within the next year. I’m a firm believer in “give it your all or don’t give it at all. “
It’s definitely a bit of money. But for the tech and how much you would have to use it to see a result I think it’s good value. Plus you can practice at home with it through the winter months. But completely understand your perspective mate. 👌
jesus christ… A computer for your wrist.. Just hit the ball enjoy the game and day out with your mates… were all gonna die soon and wrist angles dont matter
The tilt tip was a game changer! Never knew why I couldn’t get shoulder tilt at the top of backswing lol
Literally searched for your original review over the weekend as have the option of purchasing one. Thanks for the update!
No problem mate! Hopefully this video gives you a good idea of what to expect!

Main thing I really work on is impact position. I’ve considered hack motion for awhile might have to pull the trigger
Not sure if I missed but does it help coming over the top?
Fantastic instruction , having had 1 lesson with you , I can now see some real direction of where we are going
Thanks Lee! 🙌
I bought one, looking forward to using it and improving and enjoying golf more due to more success

I found it is very easy to get my club face open during impact when using this kind of swing
Get it back out mate, use it often and little, so not to get burnout with it. Want it to gradually feed into your real swing. 👌
I lose that most months.
Have been hestitant to pull the trigger on this, but you've sold me. Also, what wall mount for your clubs is that? Looks like it works great.
Looking forward to you advising us all to go for the original version as it's £60 on eBay instead of the new one at £500 in a few years time 😂

I'd love to book an assessment with you to see if I'm wasting my time with the swing changes I've been trying to make.
Do it , it’s a big plus to have a coach that has gone through the same process as his students

I purchased this presuming I had wrist issues. First 10 shots and everything was green. I was gutted 😂
hope you do get back out and play some tournament stuff, be good to see

@@SASGolfI’d have thought any teaching pro would have one. Sadly, mine doesn’t 😕
what else can i meassure because i feel that some ai golf app, 18 birdies or across is a way better use of my momey
