Thank you for this. I was hooping this weekend and felt a pop in my PF. Before this pop, I had been dealing with PF for about 6 weeks and rehabbed the best I could. Now that it's torn, I think that the tightness has been relieved, and now I need to focus on recovery. It sucks in the short term but long term, I know my foot will be back to normal.. Hopefully
I completely ruptured my plantar fascia. Don’t worry you will be just fine if you give it the proper recovery. It’s not even remotely as bad as an Achilles injury. Additionally we as humans already have artificial means to provide that taught support and spring for the foot making the plantar fascia a bit redundant. If you lived your entire life barefoot it would matter because you rely much more on your PF tendon. But today you just get great arch support insoles and basketball shoes that have that taught springy support in their shaft along the bottom of your foot. You will be just fine if not better off.
I just had xrays done. I believe I tore my plantar fascia. My foot is working fine, but I have pain, and feel what feels like tendonous scar tissue that is painful. That is my guess right now.
Hey Doc I am currently undergoing prp treatment for my plantar fascitiis. On my first injection, the pain was gone after 3 days. Then after 2 weeks, i went for my second injection. Why is that i can still feel pain until now and its been almost 2 weeks post 2nd injection? Is something wrong?
Jerome Paul Ifurung hey - there’s really no way for me to know that answer. Each person responds differently to PRP and that can vary for each injection in a series. That’s a much better question for your provider who has all the details on your case.

What happens after a complete tear? Does it heal back on its own?
Hello Dr. Raj, I’ve been suffering from plantar fasciitis for several months now and was wondering if you had any advice for my injury?
Thanks
Ricardo Saca really hard to diagnose or help online. Are you sure it’s plantar fasciitis?
