There is no law anywhere in the world that says ppl must stand to any president but they do out of respect to the office not the person. There is no law that says u must kneel or now when greeting a king or chief but ppl do out of respect. So let's disrespect the office cos we don't like the man
The president should have just walked past all seated chiefs without greeting them. This is why Nkrumah wanted to do away with Chiefs. Now they are just giving titles to even foreigners, development chief, Nbrantie hene etc & the president, out of respect gets up to greet them & they are seated cos they don't know tradition. At Akwasidae & other festivals sub chiefs get up when greeted, only the paramount chief & higher chiefs stay seated.
