I was in middle school when MJ’s Thriller came out and people went crazy. “Billie Jean” was one of the first videos by a black artist played on MTV (I think Prince’s “1999 “ was the first). After the “Billie Jean” video came out, MTV increased airing videos by other black artists. “Thriller” was huge! I remember some kids at school wearing the iconic red jacket(or copies, rather). It was exciting to be in that time! I feel like an old woman though, when I have to tell all this stuff to my kid because she has no idea!
Your mom is way too cool! Everyone should have a mom like that, just saying. Your bond with your mom is unreal. My mom likes their songs but is to denying of being an ARMY 😂 when I asked her to become an ARMY with me I think she thought I meant to be my level of a fan, waiting for their every single new music video/song, know almost everything about BTS on their idol side of career, excited fan who wants merch and wants to go to a concert so she declined but I knew she didn’t want to be that type of fan so what I meant was I fan who likes so listen to their music from time to time or watch funny crack videos of them sometimes 💀

Honestly, I'm so happy and glad they did this tribute because the younger generation really need to know and appreciate these legendary artists and see where BTS inspiration comes from.
Absolutely! JHope absolutely ADORES MIchael (his moves) also Jimin and JK were dancing to MJ "Black or White" in one of their shows and THEY ALL love these funky music also rapping they are into it so it is only natural that they pay tribute to all these. They were kinda paying homage to the people that influenced them growing up and MJ was a big one of course. This is also their first all English single.
I love how Michael still influences music and dancers around the world. This is hands down my favorite song in a long BTS list. I love how they paid tribute to all those funk and soul kings and queens.
This is BTS’s response to the global pandemic. Their songs usually make a statement about social issues. But the band said that after months of misery due to COVID, we could all use some cheering up. Sure enough - you can’t help but smile watching this video. Watch them perform at the MTV-VMAs on August 30! This will be the first LIVE performances Dynamite on television. Can’t wait!
They were doing Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson's moves were inspired by James brown. Love the video. Did you all catch the kid n play move bye RM and Suga? Love Love bts and you and mom.

You and your mom ROCK!! After watching your video and hearing all the talk about MJ, I got so nostalgic... remembering my youth when I grew up in South Korea (yes, I'm from BTS' home country!) listening to The Jackson 5 & MJ's music. After watching your video, I rounded out the day by listening to my all time favorite MJ song 'Rock With You' with my hubby. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Now I need to go back to streaming 'Dynamite'!!!!
Your MOM is EVERYTHING! There is an interview and Suga says the MV is 70/80's. In the beginning, there is a Beatles poster that was included as well to give love and respect. Did you hear the reference when Tae says Off the Wall MJ's album and then did an MJ move? There is an interview with Taj Jackson and he says he loves the tribute they made to Michael. He also said Michael would have loved them and would have worked with them. I know in my heart that would have happened. I agree with what was said about artists who have used MJ's moves. Some people have said that's someone move and I'm no that's Michael's. That Time magazine said in a caption under a picture that Jimin was Suga. I wasn't going to drop a dime on that mess!
I swear I was thinking the same thing. For sure Michael would've definitely put them in a special part of his heart for their message, dedication, and their inspiration in him.💗💜💜💜
Dynamite really is that catchy, feel good song that makes you just wanna get up & dance! The 80s kid in me also screams Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” when I first listened to this song. I think it’s only natural for them to bring MJ’s references to the MV because of the vibes of the song. And am loving it! Cheers to your mom, love her energy as always! 🕺🏻

“THAT WAS SO BLACK!” yassss! it is! and that is why whole world is in love with the song 💜 This is by far the best reaction to Dynamite I’ve watched... Best regards to your mum, she’s so cool! 👏🏻💜
Thank you for sharing this I am an older lady I love this song..Well I love BTS ,there is just something about them that I think their songs are so uplifting and these days we need more of this kind of music in our lives.I am an Older Army.
I saw the video you watched alone and it is very interesting to watch it with your mom again. I'm very happy as a Korean, thinking that a Korean boy band gave you and your mom a good time. And, as a fan of MJ, I also feel grateful to BTS for having a good time thinking of MJ. You and your mother, that's a very nice vibe, bro.
This is great. BTS learned a lot about the Temptations for stage performance and music. The study music of many eras, but black/soul music in general is what they connect with the most. If you look at on of their interviews (Apple music) they put this song out to connect with their fans through the hard times and give them joy and energy. The message is I still have to get up in the morning everyday and sieze the opportunity to make something good out of it. It id definitely happy vibes. We love it.
From what I understand they paid royalties to use MJ’s moves in this video. So it was definitely a homage to him. You can also see some influences ofJames Brown with the foot shuffle when JK and Jimin are dancing and removing their jackets. Also the milk deal comes from a commercial that used a tag line got milk and everyone who did the commercial had a milk mustache.
So glad i finally watched this. So glad you liked it. I love this song. They accomplished their mission to make us happy and give us energy. -baby army NY USA
Watching your reaction and your Mom's had me smiling because I have always been proud to be black. I grew up with MJ in my household, so loving BTS and MJ, I definitely noticed their funk based elements. Of course some may think this isn't their BEST song, but during COVID this makes me so happy to be alive, here in this generation, just like every other ARMY in the world.
Did you all peep david bowie in the back there at the beginning. Also theres stuff with the beatles too. It legit had the disco vibe i loved it and watched it legit ten times the first day it came out it made me feel happy. 💜🙂
Love seeing your mom💜 praying for you in this school year be safe. Always enjoy watching your reaction This song made me feel like it was a tribute to the king of pop...💜thanks for bringing mom on..
I love how your mom gave insights about the MV! Also, my dude!!! I still remember when I commented back in your serendipity reaction 😊 it's been 3 years and I'm glad you stayed and kept supporting the boys!
If this song makes you wanna move, feel good & energetic then BTS has accomplished their mission! 🤗💜 Releasing this song wasn't originally in their plans, but a short term decision was made and they blessed us with this song during this pandemic. They understand what the world is going through so this song was released to give us all a burst of positive energy....like a dynamite!! This was definitely a 70-80-90's retro vibe!! Merch like vinyl records, cassette tapes etc were sold out as this song got released! Yes, they totally paid homage to this funky era with MJ & others as musical inspirations. They even paid to use MJ's moves in this MV and MJ's nephew (via Twitter) is definitely moved by this!! 😭💜 #ProudARMY
That's true. So many young fans don't know. I meet some of them who don't understand why people keep talking about Jackson 5, MJ, Funk, Disco, 80s, and 90s vibes. They think we're trying to compare BTS with all of that when nobody's even doing that lol. So let's give them a chance to learn first. I love this song. It's been stuck in my mind since it came out. I actually had to go way back to Jackson 5 and enjoy that music too. 😅
LOVE Your REACTION Guysssss - Daquan, your MUM IS adorable!!! So many days later and I am still buzzing from this beautiful funky-disco groove! OMGI LOVE how you guys recognized Jimin's MJ homage!!! Did you know that our super talented dance king #Jimin self choreographed that bit, segments of his dance with JK, and Jin's moonwalk in this MV? My bias #Jiminie is #Dynamite! YUP #BTS broke many records with #Dynamite - becoming the fastest song in history to reach #1 on iTunes in 100 total countries AND becoming the fastest MV in TH-cam history to hit over 101 MILLION views in 24hrs. I LOVE how you love #BTS guys - keep up the great reactions! And bless #BTS for releasing this track to cheer us all up during COVID19 times - Cheer us UP they sure did!!!
Mom! You totally rock! (And your son is cute.) I was a 70's girl and LOVED J5 (and Michael when he went solo), and ALL Of the classic Motown artists! This video pays such a fabulous homage to all of that!
Your mom’s right. This is a homage to MJ. 70’s,80’s and early 90’s funky vibe. They just wanted to bring good vibes, energy and happiness to uplift everyone in this pandemic. Great reaction with your mom! More BTS reactions please
I felt like crying watchig these talented guys pay homage to MJ. The mainstream media in the US and the UK were trying so hard to cancel an innocent black man and a dead one at that. Even in death MJ couldn’t catch a break. It’s so great to see artists pay tribute to MJ. 😭😭
since you said that its like from late 70's to late 80's or early 90's. I also thought its a Saturday Night Fever vibe. DEfinetely our seniors (60-70 yrs old) would love this song!!!
I agree with everything everyone else is saying and Tae is defo coming to wreck every army's bias and bias wreckers lists especially with that smile at the end, also my Jiminie i still cant get over him and that ‘finger bang’ he does he owns it, also the way he looks into the camera and stares into your soul and heart. Also ther dancing and vocals (especially the raplines as i wasn't expecting them to not rap at all) and attitude they give off is just perfect. Also for being their very first song fully in English just goes to show that they have improved a lot (from what i have heard and read Korean is easier to learn than English). Also the fact that every Army right now is being biased wrecked by every member including their bias just goes to show how perfect and amazing these guys are and that they do such an amazing job with what they do as well
Yes , I agree with all your points ,younger generation, some of them didn't knw whos Michael was..but I make sure my daughters know him, eventho I was born in the other side of the world,we grew up listening to michael ,Jackson 5, watching American top 10. Im sure bts parents also loves Michael. I always said tht bts is like having 7 Michael Jackson.
She is thinking of George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelic. And, you are right. It is not necessarily an homage to Michael, but a throwback jam. So many Michael references got thrown in because he was so representative of that era. This song, clothing styles, and video as a whole is like DeBarge and Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" album had a baby.
Im so sorry I missed this when you posted it. I love that your mom reacted. I saw your first reaction and said, I hope he shows his mom. Thank you. Love you guys.
Michael Jackson is the ultimate artist ever for me personally. What an artist. What a performer and this song really made me think a lot about him and how he is so missed in the music world.
David Bowie pic on JK's wall would be the 70's too. David Bowie made his first #1 hit in 1975. Michael Jackson is all over this MV and that is what makes it so great. Loved you and your mother's reaction. I am 79 yrs old and can't stop dancing to this video.
Hey guys I am from the 70s era so yes your mom was talking about who was the most influential during the Funk Era that would be the funkadelic‘s Bootsy Collins and the funkadelic‘s they started the funK era😊
*MY ALL TIME FAVORITE REACTION* Love this family, when you said you had watched it twice and IT JUST MADE YOU HAPPY..."maybe not the best BTS song ever"...but it MADE YOU HAPPY...I've watched the MV probably two dozen times in the last few days, and EVERY time I find myself just filled with joy, and BTS LOOKS SO HAPPY TOO!!! { and your Mom has the prettiest smile in the world } Thank you for this video. Honestly...thank you.
BTS tease us with hints about their combacks weeks before the actual comeback. They've been wearing clothes with Michael Jackson on them and posting pictures of their Michael Jackson belongings in the background. Also Black and older ARMYs are educating younger and newer ARMYs about Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5 on twitter. Lots of memes showing the choreo side by side.
You and your mom are a whole mood.🔥👏🏻💜. I love when you react together and watching you interact. You seem like you have an amazing relationship. Thank you so much for reacting twice. I loved both videos!
Thank youuuu, I thought I was going crazy. The moment I heard the trailer I got Jackson 5 and disco vibes and it got me soo excited! I've noticed many reactors don't get the reference and say it 'summery'. haha I got my love for disco and Michael Jackson from my mom ahha I do hope more people go back and appreciate that music after liking Dynamite
It's not a direct tribute to M.J. However, they knew that when they heard the demo it sounded very much like the Jackson 5 and the sound of the 70's. It's one of the reasons why they are dressed in 70's outfits, including those god awful bell bottoms. (And please don't come after fir saying that. I lived thru it the first time..and yes I mean the 70s. I hated them then, can't stand them...on anyone!) They also contacted the Jackson family to ask permission to use his iconic kick and moonwalk. They wanted thos song to uplift all us in this time...and personally it has. This style of music is the style I grew up on. It makes me happy...I am so hoping it makes others happy like I think it has...not to mention I love your mom's reaction...she is so happy!!! Thank you getting her reaction for it.
Actually it was told it was a homanage to Michael Jackson because as you can see they showed their love and appreciation to all their influences but Michael was a HUGE impact to them
what your mom say just concluded everything!!! Love to see her react with you! this mv really give you a good vibe to chill for the rest of the day! peace n have a blessed day!
Great comments. One thing BTS does is if people don’t know who Jackson 5 or MJ is people will find out. BTS has introduces so many artists. And although BTS doesn’t come out and say they are paying homage to MJ, they are. They are influenced by many black artists. So glad your mom commented. It does help someone elder can retro information.
What a great reaction!!!...Mom is so so right!! She understands all the referrals. And yes, this video is a tribute to Michael Jackson. BTS anoununced it before the release of the video. Respect to Mom for all the comments...😊
I think anyone who watched the mv can pick out that this a tribute to all of the artists that made an impact in there lives. Thanks BTS for keeping music history alive for the youth.🤗💜 Thank you guys for your review and for stating the difference between homage and copying, and that BTS is paying homage to those who are responsible for parts of our hip hop music history🥰💜

i love his mom she is everything
“THAT WAS SO BLACK!” yassss! it is! and that is why whole world is in love with the song 💜
This is by far the best reaction to Dynamite I’ve watched...
Also the milk deal comes from a commercial that used a tag line got milk and everyone who did the commercial had a milk mustache.
in V's verse he references MJ ! "off the wall" "break of dawn" 🙌🏼 i enjoyed the reaction! you guys take care 💜
So glad i finally watched this. So glad you liked it. I love this song. They accomplished their mission to make us happy and give us energy. -baby army NY USA
The feels for this song and MV is everywhere. It’s very timely they released the song when everybody is down during this pandemic. Than you, BangtanS!
Parliament, psychedelic phunk, Michael Jackson, 70's, 80's, and early 90's.
watching this made me so happy!!! i'm glad dynamite gave you two joy as well!
Always enjoy watching your reaction
This song made me feel like it was a tribute to the king of pop...💜thanks for bringing mom on..
Fashion from the retro 70's and early 80's, and moves like MJ
I love how your mom gave insights about the MV! Also, my dude!!! I still remember when I commented back in your serendipity reaction 😊 it's been 3 years and I'm glad you stayed and kept supporting the boys!
Thank you so much!!
This is a good song specially to our senior citizens who are fighting covid! A define happy song that they could relate to!
#ProudARMY
That's true. So many young fans don't know. I meet some of them who don't understand why people keep talking about Jackson 5, MJ, Funk, Disco, 80s, and 90s vibes. They think we're trying to compare BTS with all of that when nobody's even doing that lol. So let's give them a chance to learn first. I love this song. It's been stuck in my mind since it came out. I actually had to go way back to Jackson 5 and enjoy that music too. 😅
Mad props for giving respect to the 80"s era ..especially Michael Jackson 🙏. Caught the Kid and Play. #misstheeightes.
I love that you included your mum in this video. She took us down memory lane, it was awsome to hear what she said. 💜
Glad you liked it!!
Your mom’s right. This is a homage to MJ. 70’s,80’s and early 90’s funky vibe. They just wanted to bring good vibes, energy and happiness to uplift everyone in this pandemic. Great reaction with your mom! More BTS reactions please
They gave me te summer i wanted in one song ...
Also the fact that every Army right now is being biased wrecked by every member including their bias just goes to show how perfect and amazing these guys are and that they do such an amazing job with what they do as well
No one:
Literally no one:
Mom: I’m sorry but,,, THATS SO BLACK!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I expected anything but that sentence lolllll
hahahah she ain't wrong tho
Loved it
I was a late/end 60's baby it had major movie, music, and sport references and more. You guys caught more than a lot of other reactors. nice 👍🏻
I love your mum!!! I wish my parents were as supportive as your mum. Love to you both!
Thanks! Good to see you again! I miss your bts reactions.
Their last mv with huge number of views was actually Boy With Luv 😊💜
She is thinking of George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelic. And, you are right. It is not necessarily an homage to Michael, but a throwback jam. So many Michael references got thrown in because he was so representative of that era. This song, clothing styles, and video as a whole is like DeBarge and Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" album had a baby.
It's the song and video we needed for the way 2020 is going.
Im so sorry I missed this when you posted it. I love that your mom reacted. I saw your first reaction and said, I hope he shows his mom. Thank you. Love you guys.
You and your mom together make a great team. Love your positive energy.
Good to see you back^^~~~
Thanks, bts, our boys, they never disappoint ^~^
Michael Jackson is the ultimate artist ever for me personally. What an artist. What a performer and this song really made me think a lot about him and how he is so missed in the music world.
What a cool mom you've got. She is smart cute nice and full of life. Good for you
I love how u and ur mom can’t comprehend why jimin’s so beautiful🤣
It was happy to see you and your mom reaching the mv. I enjoyed it till the last minutes
They went 90's too with a lot of the clothes. Especially at the end. It was definitely a pop tribute. Just a very upbeat, positive vibe.
We love you Mama!! You picked up on everything so fast!
{ and your Mom has the prettiest smile in the world }
Thank you for this video. Honestly...thank you.
thank you so much for your positivity!!

드디어 방탄 포스터 붙이셨네!
Korean love MJ♥
BTS tease us with hints about their combacks weeks before the actual comeback. They've been wearing clothes with Michael Jackson on them and posting pictures of their Michael Jackson belongings in the background. Also Black and older ARMYs are educating younger and newer ARMYs about Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5 on twitter. Lots of memes showing the choreo side by side.
Yup, I was gonna comment on the side-by-side choreo comparison memes. Also putting MJ's dancing to Dynamite audio. 😊💜
@@flyushkifly Yes I saw those too! 😁💜
You and your mom are a whole mood.🔥👏🏻💜. I love when you react together and watching you interact. You seem like you have an amazing relationship. Thank you so much for reacting twice. I loved both videos!
I love your enthusiasm
I hated them then, can't stand them...on anyone!)
They also contacted the Jackson family to ask permission to use his iconic kick and moonwalk. They wanted thos song to uplift all us in this time...and personally it has. This style of music is the style I grew up on. It makes me happy...I am so hoping it makes others happy like I think it has...not to mention I love your mom's reaction...she is so happy!!! Thank you getting her reaction for it.
Actually it was told it was a homanage to Michael Jackson because as you can see they showed their love and appreciation to all their influences but Michael was a HUGE impact to them
Awww I missed you, and your mom's smile is sooooooo beautiful and infectious 😭 I love her!!!!
Thank you so much!!
Your Mom is really #SAVAGE! She nailed everything there!
what your mom say just concluded everything!!! Love to see her react with you! this mv really give you a good vibe to chill for the rest of the day! peace n have a blessed day!
The bonding in this is chefs kiss!
Thanks BTS for keeping music history alive for the youth.🤗💜
Thank you guys for your review and for stating the difference between homage and copying, and that BTS is paying homage to those who are responsible for parts of our hip hop music history🥰💜
They actually sang this whole song in English, which is a big deal! Also this is basically their take on the 70's, 80's and 90's!!
BTS bringin that funk back! MJ inspired us all, I also see a bit of Soul Train. The dude rockin the Kangol in the end wrapped it up perfectly!
