  • Now, understanding the perspective of the United States and the European Union is not a difficult matter. If you recall, during our Prime Minister's last visit to the United States, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff made an interesting statement. What did he say? "This issue cannot be resolved through armed conflict," meaning, "Do not kill these PKK militants or activists in the mountains or on the streets; give them the right to live." So, you are supposed to let the person who comes to kill you live.
Secondly, the European Union… If you have noticed, for a long time, this is why I have been constantly saying: Under the name of the European Union, there is an agenda to divide Turkey. That is, we will enter the EU, and under various excuses and pretexts, they will divide Turkey. Politics must see this very clearly. If politics fails to see this, it cannot fulfill its function. Otherwise, it too will become complicit in the division and fragmentation of the country.
Right now, they are saying, "You will issue an amnesty." Fine, amnesty is being granted. "You will even pardon Apo." If you have noticed, all of this has become a matter of debate. The decision made by the Turkish judiciary has not yet been executed. In other words, the ruling has not been enforced or carried out. Now, what does this prove? That the Republic of Turkey is not an independent state. It can make decisions, but it does not have the power to enforce them. The state's weakness is being demonstrated through politics, and the European Union is trying to portray this state as powerless.
If you think you are strong, go and tell the United States or the United Kingdom to do the same. They implement the decisions made by their independent judiciary, and no power or authority can prevent them from doing so.
What I am trying to say is this: Why are decisions made in Turkey not being enforced? It is to prove and spread the idea that the Republic of Turkey is weak. Is that clear? First of all, Turkish politics has failed to fulfill its duty in this regard so far. Secondly, it constantly falls into the West’s trap under the pretense of passing harmonization laws. For example, it abolished the death penalty or removed severe punishments.
Now, can you imagine? Someone murders your loved one, and you are granting them amnesty-on whose behalf? Did you ask the family of the victim, whose blood was spilled, "What punishment should this person receive?" I don’t know if I am making myself clear. What right are you talking about? Granting amnesty to someone who violates my rights is not justice. It is the usurpation of rights. Someone is seizing and destroying justice. In this logic, justice means giving the rightful person their due and setting limits for the wrongdoer. You are not setting limits on them; as a result, they become even more aggressive. You should neither punish excessively nor too leniently-justice must be balanced.
