Caught some keepers at that same canal last week, but the flesh was stained w black blotches when I fileted them. Read that the blue mussels that the canal tog eat discolors the meat. Said they were safe to eat, but I couldn't get past the visual. Same at the nearby inlets? Nothing like that at the OC MD inlet nor at the IRI in DE that I also frequent.

Yes, but not every trip.
Stripers have been in that location since the spring. They are still there, in the river and out front.
Lately I see them bringing up baitfish, but by the time I re-rig they're gone. I'll keep trying. They got to be coming around the beach again.
What do you use to catch stripers?
