1st time I’ve heard him speak in English and it’s really good and his accent is completely different to his Cantonese
don't you all have compulsory education at least 9 years after kindergarden in Hong Kong? All Hong Kongers have to learn English at the start of the kindergarden's education. Why there is people to think Tony Leung could not manage to speak English fluently?
@@beechan3707 well i guess they mean that learnt English more than 9 years not equal to speak fluently since HKer speak Cantonese more in daily life. and you know, "fluent" this term depends on the person, the same conversation, someone think did, but some think did not.
Tony Leung, like Leslie Cheung, is a man of culture so not surprised that he has good English even though he was not educated overseas
Tony speaks Chinese accent as 學友。

@@annehen4272 . 張学友普通話很多国內人都說很标準. 一次一個普通話台的主持問他為什么普通話那么好, 原來張的祖母是天津人, 他自小由祖母照顧, 而祖母不懂廣東話的.

My picks are Daniel Wu and Edison Chen for it’s their first language speaking in American accent. Nicholas Tse is pretty good too. Eason Chan’s posh accent is another honorable mention

I agree with most of the feedback about not to include native or almost native speakers in the "comparison". For the non native speakers, it is quote apparent if they had or had not received some sort of tertiary medication invariably in an English language institution; and or learned from private tutors.

What about Daniel Wu and Edison? These 2 sounded like white men talking when I listened with my eyes closed. Nicholas has a very slight accent, almost unnoticeable. Tony's voice is purely sexy 😍, accent or not.

軒仔聽起來最舒服
对于只识得讲广东话的人（尤其讲惯香港那种懒音），他们的舌头发力相对弱很多，所以很多要用到舌头发力的音都读的不准。
对于只识得讲普通话的人，他们发不出喉塞音，例如你听内地人讲粤语嘅“一”同“七”，他们会念成类似普通话的“鸭”同“车”，所以他们念it的时候常常会念成i-te，没办法控制声门去收那个t的音。

Raymond's grammar is pretty poor for someone that studied at a California University. Tony and Jacky are the most impressive since they probably had to pick up the language during their working careers (albeit with private tutors). Lol u should do a reverse video on Cantonese of hk celebs and put Edison and Daniel in it

I think this channel has uploaded a video of how Miss Chinese International Pageant and Miss Hong Kong Pageant speak English. There are several ppl grew up in Canada/US, or even 2 or 3 of them were born in Canada...they still make this comparison

I don't get it. Why is it important to use English competency as a yardstick to gauge a person's worth? I think, that, in itself, is a sign of collective LOW ESTEEM of some particular communities. I haven't seen even one English media outlet that would deem it important, to discuss the fact that many Caucasians who speak perfect Chinese and are now hosting mainstream Chinese TV entertainment programs. Come on people, just be proud of who you are. The more you respect yourself, the more other people will respect you.

Not fair to invite Daniel Ng, Nicholas Tse snd even Edison snd Eson becos they are brought up in the States and Canada. Oral Chinese is their second language. I think Tony Leung speaks English best.
