- In today's vlog, I'm joining the club and getting my very first tattoo at age 41. And I went BIG! I chose a beautiful design that covers the inside of my left forearm. I'm sharing my experience (which was really amazing, if a bit painful), plus we'll unwrap the tattoo the next day and do some aftercare together. Thanks so much for watching!

Tattoo high is a real thing, as a heavily tattooed person please consider a tattoo concept for at least a couple of years before committing to it. Tattoo removal is so expensive 😅
all of my (much older) siblings told me this and i regret most of mine now unfortunately lol
Better off waiting till 40 something to get your tattoos cause you should be pretty set in your ways by then
I know right? As soon as I got my first I immediately wanted another. Thankfully I was smart enough to hold off, til I wasn’t chasing that high anymore. I don’t regret mine at all, especially as it’s in a place you can’t easily see it. But glad I didn’t get more!
Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law who is only 29 is in the midst of the tattoo addiction.😂. One of em is a giant centipede going up her thigh. I did kinda hint around and sent some links about people who got tats young and regretted them later, however, I guess it didn’t sway her. It’s kind of shocking when she wears shorts
i never do that! i consider as an adult you have too many problems to regret a tattoo. they're funny memories :)
Tattoos are like scrapbooking for me! A way to represent phases in your life.
When you said Ted showed you the crows outside I knew your the tattoo was going to be of a crow. The tattoo artist did do a great job and the tattoo and it's such a suitable tattoo for you!! 👌Ted's new one fit so well with the other ones he has on that arm.
Your artist did such a good job. Also great choice of style on the tattoo. Traditional is timeless. Welcome to the tattoo club 🖤

It's a cold brew concentrate, so you have to mix it with water. :)

i have hawaiian traditional tribal wings that go from my shoulders to my hips 😂😂😂😂
my skin is paralyzed so i didn’t even feel it.

@@LifePlusCindy😂 i’m proably going to feel the tattoo I’m about to get because it’s going to be across my chest from shoulder to shoulder and i was going to suggest Aquaphor if your tattoo artist didn’t. it’s what my artist suggested about 15 years ago when i got my back piece.
i’m about to be getting about 25 bats tattooed across my chest representing all of my kids, nibblings and family pets.

I absolutely love your tattoo ~ it's amazing! Crows are my favourite bird and if I were to ever get a tattoo it would encompass a crow. You were very brave to handle the pain so well!

I used A&D Ointment on my forearm tattoo and it healed just fine. For my after care I would wash it and then put the ointment on it
Great advice. Just wondering did you wait for the scabs to form or did you apply the ointment before the tattoo started to scab? Thanks in advance

The tattoo reminds me of you talking in a vlog about your sister and you hiding under some type of flowering tree growing up. Don't know if the bird is a protection spirit that is always with you. Thank you for sharing.

Wow so beautiful. I love ravens as well so so much🧡 I have 7 tattoos most are small that I've done myself but I do have a medium sized one on my left wrist of a bat that I got kast year on firday the 13th! Can't wait to get a big peice on day I also have mine facing me because I want to see them from my point of view. I don't care if others see them, it's my art on my body lol

Congratulations! That is a really cool looking tattoo. I usually use spring water to wash my tattoos the first week or so I don't trust the tap water in Texas!!

As far as aftercare, if you can get some gold dial antibacterial liquid soap, would def recommend that instead of foaming antibacterial. The foaming kind might irritate such a large area. 😊

I got a matching tattoo with my sister as my first tattoo and it takes up length of my upper arm so I hear you on big first tattoos. We joke we went in whole hog the first time and now nothing else will ever compare tattoo wise. All the other tattoos I want are smaller so I know I'll be able to handle them when the time comes
I remember I never got a tattoo in art school despite all my fellow colleagues getting them cause I was always afraid of not being hired. I later cut of a dread i had and made myself all perfect for my first job interview only to discover the academy where I worked didn't even care about that. Later in life now almost thirty I have no intentions of getting any job where they'd judge me for that. I got my first tattoo some years ago and now i have four small ones :) It is so nice but I wish I'd done it sooner, the first one is always super significant but after that it's easier :)ç
PS I highly recommend you try out handpoke one day! it takes longer but the pain is way more bearable imo! obv for large or coloured pieces it isn't appropriate

For any Friday the 13th, Tattoo shops do sales! P.S We have a Friday the 13th in December! The local tattoo shop does them here for $13 for line art and $31 for color with a $7 tip! Look around!

I've been putting off getting my ears re-pierced for like 5 years, but seeing you go get your tattoo is making me want to go do it. I'm not off put by pain or anything like that, I'm just incredibly lazy and a hermit. I really want to wear all my cool earrings again though. I reckon if Cindy wants more tattoos she should try some thigh tattoos. There's no excess skin there and plenty of space for more designs.
Good luck with the ear repiercing! i know youll love it once you go back out there, and youll get to dress it up all cool with earrings again! its hard to break out of cycles and do something youve been putting off so take your time and wait for the right moment!

I had my first tattoo at 18 years old and it was my entire shoulder 😂 didn't hurt too much there as long as he wouldn't come near the spine.
tattoos are such fun to get, I have more than a few…it’s a good thing they’re expensive or I’d have more random ones 😂 I have one tattoo on my leg that made it swell up so much and made it hard to walk! I’ve since gotten other tattoos on that leg and haven’t had a problem…who knows!
So weird! My arm is super swollen today, but I don't regret it!

I had an allergic reaction to my first tattoo when I was 18 and it fell off haha I had to go back and they redid it for free
Don't worry Cindy, tattoos are painful :D I have a full sleeve and everytime it hurts more and more. Also have those swellings after tattoo, so do not be scared, it is normal! :)
