Zekvir is no joke. He hits like a truck.
That's the thing...don't get hit and space the health pickups to refresh the big hot they give and nothing but actual oneshots will kill you.
Anyone saying this is easy is full of it. As a melee it's no joke.
@@skizilla I guess it all depends on your class and spec too though. In my case I did it in roughly 20 attempts, possibly a little over, on my ilvl 631 Ret pally. In my case I had an answer to everything Zekvir threw at me so long as I reacted correctly (blessing of freedom to remove the snare, word of glory to heal if needed etc). IMO it really didn’t feel that difficult but in the end it all comes down to how quickly you can learn the fight like the mage towers from legion.

And who in the real world is ilvl 630? Like no-one. I'm 622 (also RET) with BIS trinkets and a max level Bran with max level curios, and I've never even seen phase 2. I've had more success in a BM Hunter at ilvl 603 than my RET.
I understand it's supposed to be the top solo challenge, but it's over tuned, and you shouldn't have to be a mythic raider or pushing 15 keys to do it successfully.
Agreed. This guy is mythic geared though man. Its down right trivial if you are 625+ ilvl. The problem is most people are NOT. Its near impossible at 610 ilvl and anything past that it only gets easier. Anything over 610 is overgearing the content

I did it on WW monk at 618 ilvl. Took me about 4 pulls to get the mechanics but it's by no means an easy fight. I used the queen trinket + ToD to completely take care of the eggs. Was the hardest thing for me

The thing to remember people is this. Even if you have the gear, you may not get him down as easily as this dude. It may take you a hundred tries or more. But always remember that with each defeat, you learn and you get more and more comfortable with the fight. Eventually you will get him. Never give up. Also. I'd like to point out that monk is one of the most mobile classes in the game. Which makes this fight easier.

A person on reddit said to take the Meridian Strikes talent to always have Touch of Death up for the egg to cheese the fight a bit. It works great, but I still can't get past the first phase. Brann goes crazy with the overhealing in the regular delves, but against Zekvir he's like "Good luck. lol."
Honestly my only huge gripe with the fight are the potential horrendously bad overlaps due to his spell queuing being seemingly random. It's really cool when the egg spawns on the other side of the room and the boss does the fear circle (sweet free dodge) and then immediately does the frontal cone that now takes up practically the entire room and is impossible to dodge on most melee smacking the egg.
I recommend baiting those frontals. When You get used to his CDs You can kinda feel when he will do this chain casts. I personally saved some CDs for the web on some classes. Also if You can get Your hands on it the trinket from Queen Ansurek is a huge cheat in this fight.

Thank you for the guide. I do recommend detailing what spec/talents you have for Brann for this kind of thing. Its quite important. Just got my kill within 10 goes but I am i638 so no excuses hah

How lovely that this video was recommended to me just a day after I killed him lol. As long as you know your class well and you’re playing optimal talents it’s not too horrible. It took me 6 attempts on my shadow priest at 608 ilvl. Prior to that I had 9 attempts on my arms warrior, I feel like casters are a lot easier in this fight.

Doing this on anything under plate is pretty tough, autos for 3 mill crits, thank god i was able to get it done on my shaman
Killed him 2nd try. I think the only important advice is to save CDs for the eggs. Dont become greedy and waste them on the boss. The fight might take a little longer this way, but you will always have enough damage to nuke the egg asap and not run into trouble with bad overlaps. Oh and make sure to save your kick ONLY for his heal. Do not kick the snare debuff, either Brann dispels it (assuming hes specced Heal iirc) or just use an ability that removes snares (I think most classes should have one, e.g. Freedom, Shapeshift, etc.). In the 2nd phase, make sure to dodge properly, just stop DPSing and only watch the ground effects, better safe than sorry.
My advice to everybody trying this: set your expectations low and just assume you will be doing 200 or even more attempts, just like raiding progression during vanilla. The fight has so many bs mechanics and RNG, that it can be easy to become disillusioned and give up.
Be patient, and try to learn what could have been done better: better understanding of mechanics, better understanding of your class’ burst dps abilities on egg, how not to get caught in one-shot aoe, etc. You’re NOT a bad player just because it took over 200 attempts. You will have the achievements and the void skin, and you won’t care it took that many tries.
I’ve done ?? as frostfire mage (610) and as shadow priest (ilvl 600). You’d think the extra ilvl on the mage meant better dps, but honestly the spriest was able to burn down the egg just as fast. Each class has their own advantages and drawbacks, but if you know the FULL kit of your class, and understand all the mechanics, and persevere, you WILL beat ?? Zekvir.
I was struggling with the enffable cast and saw that you handled that on monk and you described it well so I will try vengeful retreat and save kick for the heal. I also have 15 to 25% leech and it still feels like it isn't enough
This fight gave me Elden-Ring-Vibes thats for sure. I´ve tryed it so many times with different Chars and finally did it with my Demon-Hunter after min 75 Trys.. Pure Horror^^ but the feeling when he is down is awesome :D good luck everybody while trying!

Im a prot paladin, have been for 18-19 years, and i just cant seem to get the gear and even pass delve levels 10 or so. I just seemed to have plateued, but I dont really do dungeons or raids, so i am guessing thats a big part of gearing up for this.

Just did it as a brewmaster monk... took a couple hours. The absolute hardest part for me personally is killing the add that stuns you.
Yeah brew doesn't have a ton of single target damage. Why not wind walker?

4 tries on Ret, I'm 617, so I don't think I overgeared it but I can see how other classes struggle.
As someone who always plays healer. I hate how most of the challenges in the game are catered to dpsing.

That's very valid criticism. Healers are in high demand, but almost all content is based on DPS. I miss when healers could also do some damage for solo/world content.

I have always wondered why the damage numbers can’t change outside a group in order for tanks and healers to compete doing solo content.
Completing heroic raid, getting 2500 M+ and doing Zekvir ?? Ate my major goals tonhe satisfied for season 1.
Little bummed to have not dabbled in Mythic raiding with a guild or fooling with PvP in season 1 to a degree but that's alright. Ill just try harder in season 2. Just need to find an active dedicated guild.
Not sure I like the PvP gear system to this day anyway. As someone who doesnt really alt I guess I could juggle it all on 1 big supermain but idk. Spose I strive for absolute completion too much seasonally and missing even a singule activity in a season of an expansion feels demoralizing to me.

Did it myself at I think Ilvl 608 as Bm hunter took me around 135 pulls, I’m blind in one eye so made many mistakes😅

Most classes have talents that increase mobility. But there might be speed flasks, don't know the name though
me as a former mythic raider, looks at it and thinks oki... this doable, might take a few wipes, but i get there.
(reads comments) i get why people who maybe havnt tried the higher tiers of raiding, might think this may look hard. as said in the video, its all matter of staying focused and aware of your suroundings, you be okay. maybe get dbm or bigwigs it will help you get aware of somethings at the right time :)
I HATE this kind of tutorials. The guy isn't a jerk, but to say "just do the mechanics" is a serious understatement. There is a tons of RNG. Like the places the cocoon will drop, or the moves the boss will do next, or if there is a Bran's pet pulling the aggro in other direction or the boss will take you. Also the guide don't address the web portals. Isn't just "don't touch". Is more, don't stay in front of it. And yes, it is overwhelming. But the RNG sucks. And isn't just mechanics. If you are on full hc gear, you will get way better than someone weaker. Mostly o the guides or records are from 4 months ago. The classes got nerfs and buffs. anyway. GL to everybody. Just gear up and only when you hit your platô, go for it.
edit: when boss cast angler's web, don't try to run across boss. it will count as he pulled you and you insta dies. It sucks.

People done it with 590-599 as ranges.
I say 605+ is ok more is easier
If you are perfect at dodging everything you can do it at 600, but I'd recommend 610 or higher. The main thing is killing the hatching add before it hatches otherwise you will get overwhelmed

@@CarlosSpicyweiner-iv8mq He's not joking. Go and look. I'm a demo warlock and can't get him down to phase 2, but I've seen demo warlocks under my ilevel (622) get him down. Its about reflexes and not panicking. Which neither am I good at.
@@CrystalPrelude I got him to phase 2 as demo back around 610 but it took so many tries and I felt more like I got lucky with add placement & Zek’s ability choices than skill. I’m 620 now and I still haven’t gone back. Gonna wait to get Cyrce’s upgraded and maybe 2 max crafted slots.
I think he’s doable at 610 even with demo, but it takes more luck, patience, and skill than i have.

As a hunter this is extraordinarily difficult. Around 20% my brain healer dies every time.
and my pet dies after its first hit for anything DX
As a Fwarr, I do it After maybe 100 try, trust me as warr was an insane challenge
Especially as melee trying to dps the egg while Zekvir is far away and starts doing Claw Smash… lol
The only thing I struggle with is the melee attacks. I can play all the mechanics, and if I screw once, I am probably dead. That is fine, such is this fight; no mistake is allowed.
But it becomes impossible if he starts to melee me all the time.

There are people who’ve beat him as tank, but as dps you’ll have a much easier time bursting down the egg in time, and Brann’s health pots are enough to keep your health safe (have to keep an eye on where they are at all times).
Just did this as 620ilvl BDK and I would definitely recommend doing as a DPS. Even with full enchants/gems/consumables your damage is so low during burst windows the egg can still spawn and you’ll have to asphyxiate/burst it while dodging the boss attacks
I am ilvl 621 mage and cannot even get close. It’s frustrating

Got him down yesterday on my 622 frostfire mage. Make sure you get the talent which removes snare effect with barrier. Have silence on one of the easiest key bindings. Save blink for the cone frontal. And avoid the elevated floor, got stuck on it several times when trying to blink out of the cone. Good luck!
Is monk complicate to play?
I've been playing it for 2 expansions, so its easy for me but some people say its hard.. I think Windwalker is easy to play but tricky to master. Healing is probably the hardest thing to learn on it but also one of the most fun healing specs in the game. Brewmaster is unique too.
I cant beat this guy and its only eazy for pallies, tanks, everyone else good luck.
Comment section shows the disparity of skill levels in WoW, from being able to complete it at around 600 ilvl to struggling to get to 630ilvl in this late in the season. Really shows that Blizzard has their work cut out for them

Play Templar Prot Pala. Easy AF. 6 tries
So basically, if you play a character that can't solo or self heal, then you will get this next expansion. (If Blizz doesn't remove it)
Achievement and mount will be removed come next season. Hence in the achievement description its removed when next season of delves is released. Just get it before then.
If you can't self-heal, you'll have to rely on Brann for healing.

631 ele schaman with brann as a dd. Killed him in under 2 minutes. Was a fun fight. I'm excited for the next solo challange in season 2
Pure Horror as a BM Hunter, he just auto oneshots ur Pet with every white hit XD Imma need to push a Twink for this ... and learn to play said twink uuurghh
No, trust me it's really easy as BM. You just turn pet taunt off and smash. You have 100 defensives to use, you can spec into more as well. If you're using PL you can spec into DR for more survival. When you get too low you pre-emptively mend your pet and manually taunt, when your pet dies you focus mechanics until he does something with a cast or dodge, get out very fast then resurrect your pet and rinse-repeat. Make sure Brand is healing and be aware of where his healing potions land, you might be well off leveling Brand to 50 as well if you're really struggling or getting your gear up. More versatility will help if you really really struggle, so don't trash those same ilvl pieces you have with vers.
As a hunter it 1 shoots my pets...
Brann can join you? I thought you had to be solo.

Not really worth the gold you can sink in repair costs if you die frequently to it. There are better looking mounts.

Solo’ing at ? gives you a toy, but you’d probably care more about the time-limited skin and title
622 Demo warlock. I have 80 tries so far and haven't but once got him down to phase 2. Skill issue? I'm sure it is.

@@CrystalPrelude I was right where you were for a good while where it wasn't even close and barely in phase 1. I questioned deeply if I even had the skill to do it before season end. Eventually(and I do mean eventually) I got him to phase 2 pretty frequently, then more often than not. From there it was fine tuning, a lot of deaths and just learning where I was genuinely unlucky and where I put myself in a position to be unlucky. Some generic things I found helped:
- I traded all my chants for speed chants. This made getting out of stuff easier and could zip in and out of things. The leech I gave away was lightly felt but minimal to the speed I gained.
- I macro my interrupts and other things I can't afford to miss. Too many times I was targeted on the egg when I needed zek or the other way around. This kind of removes some user error.
- I stopped trying to "cheat" dodge mechanics by looking away early,to get an extra shot in, or making assumptions .On my kill, I noticed every mechanic I did I took the time to see through fully even if it meant low dps. He will die eventually, in fact I couldn't believe how low he was getting without me really noticing as I just did mechanics.

i did 10 as ilvl 600, worked grate :) 11 was more hard and going to get more ilvl

Energized Barriers trivializes the dot, everything else is just avoiding the 1 shots and interrupting the heal, very doable with alittle practice.
Hunters can't solo this
They can. If you want class specific ideas, try searching "Let me solo him hunter wow" to see how other hunters beat zekvir solo
I did it ? level on my hunter after a few goes and did somewhat ok on ?? but haven't managed it yet. I'll give it another good Crack when I'm in the mood to wipe a bit more. Good luck.
It doesn't require a lot of damage. It's just an understanding of your class and your own capabilities. Or if you're a Ret Paladin, speccing into Dawnlight lmao

Zekvir melees a LOT harder on tanks anyway, so it isn't really an advantage to play tank imo.
I agree with “doesn’t require a lot of damage” with respect to Zekvir himself. Getting him down to 0 health is much more about your ability to handle mechanics over the long coarse of the fight.
But dps is very important when it comes to the egg, because Web Terrors suck. Fortunately, this issue is solved when you know the key dps ability to save for the egg only. For frostfire mages, it’s Comet Storm (plus other instant cast, procc’ed spells). For shadow priests, it’s void torrent (plus dots and 2 Void Blasts). For DH it’s Fel Rush + Essence Break + Eye Beam.etc. Etc.
You can find a video of a 569 mage killing ?? Zekvir, although he says it was really hard lol. There are other video guides with 590-ish and below for many classes/specs.
Not worth the effort these are thing that stop people playing the game.
With Ret paladin it's so easy even - 600 ilvl
621 ilvl Ret Pally, Can't even make it to phase two... This isn't easy dude, stop acting like it is
@@kingbran923 it’s definitely not an easy fight for the vast majority of players. But I will say, ret pally has the perfect kit to deal with Zek’vir (I also beat it on Ret but my ilvl was like 631 at the time so no surprise there). Pally can not only dispell the snare, but you can burst the egg when it spawns, bubble if you mess up, heal yourself if needed, mobility is excellent if you use your horse charges only when necessary too.
@@kingbran923 Bro maybe you are using a wrong spec I beat him with 600 in less than 10 tries tier ??, after too many wipes with balance druid, I'm not saying it's easy but I think Ret is the easiest spec to beat Zekvir, with a druid If i miss a spell or an interrupt it's a wipe, with ret you can catch up

Took me 5 attempts....this fight is incredibly easy and is in no way comparable to mage tower fights
For you. Sure. But for others? No. Not everyone is as skilled, or has as quick a reaction time, or doesn't panic, or doesn't get confused, or forgets. Example. I can't do ?? on a demo warlock. I did do the mage tower challenge however. I also did Green Fire when it was current.
It's not easy. Only 0,5% of playerbase finished it. No one bothers to do this or quit halfway because high difficulty and grinds doesnt engage the playerbase and blizzard gotta stop wasting money and effort making difficult contents.
