Both!! Like seeing both 😊 I am 53 and have been gardening as a child with my parents. They gave us a piece of land to grow stuff on. I liked it, my sister didn't. Have been digging around in the dirt with my hands for years😅. My concern for this piece of garden is how hard the ground is. Most plants need a bit of lose soil. But i am sure that you both make it a success like everything you take on! Love from the Netherlands 🙋
I'm both! My husband was a builder, grew up in it and went to college for it. Grew up watching "This Old House" and married my own personal builder(new, reno, inlay master). Then on the gardening side, grew up with parents that had two green thumbs, each! I have never reached their level, but love gardening still! The fun is sharing the work and fun with someone you love. My parents are gone, my husband passed away first from cancer(I've shared with you before). Do not help with or witness any builds, renos or inlay projects, or share the gardening, but my son and I have planted at the cemetery and continue to enjoy that. This year my son dug up some black caps that self started more near our home and window wells than we would like. He potted a few last fall and we picked off of them this summer.😊❤

I love watching both the home reno and landscaping. That little area up front would be perfect for a setting area a little round metal table and chairs or stone/marble benches. Whatever you do will be beautiful like always I can not wait to see the rest of the front yard landscaping.

You definitely did the smart thing and read a description of the original tree you wanted, so you knew it would not be a good fit for your front yard. More people should look at the details of trees and determine if their roots/needles/height/width might be a pronlem depending on the location you plant them in.

Gosh! I'm so impressed with your landscaping. It makes me miss living in a neighborhood, or a climate where such beautiful plants can thrive. When we moved to Wyoming, we "ditched" all of our landscaping equipment--no weed whacker, no lawnmower, only hand tools. We do have a bumper crop of sage brush every year--no mowing or fertilizer necessary. Your yard looks gorgeous!
I'm a reno follower because I love those types of videos, but I was mostly interested in this channel because I grew up in a bi-level/split level house - my mother still lives in one 50 years later. I've loved watching this process.

I found you guys when Ditching the Split was suggested to me by TH-cam (thank you TH-cam) but stayed for the landscaping and enjoyed both!! I cannot wait for the interior! I'm on my own reno journey and I probably should have started recording it but I never thought of it. It started as therapy for my soul after losing my husband in February. I've had a lot of fun working on it and I'm getting a lot of inspiration and learning a lot of 'how to' from your videos! Thank you for sharing this adventure with all of us. ❤️
