(Jeremy) Hello everyone! We're here today with deck ideas submitted by all of you! As we tend to do with each end of season episode, we took suggestions from you, the fans, to use as our Commanders. The points race was really tight this season, so this one is for all the marbles.
Star City Games Since planechase anthology came out it be fun to use the planechase cards and maybe use the legendary creatures in the decks as commanders.
I am one of those 4520 slightly disappointed people, but you know what?? I am happy enough to be a subscriber and get to watch these videos. Thank you as always! Looking forward to the next season.
Stephen Green missing the one shot kill at 1:39:15. Equip Inquisitor's Flail, Attack Suarez, before damage, Stonehewer Strata Scythe into play attached to Stonehewer Giant. Suarez takes 46 damage.
Just got an idea for a match! Battle of the precons, where we pit together the victors of the Commander preconstructed games. The winners I could find were Breya, Etherium Shaper (S5E6), Meren of Clan Nel Toth (2015 Special), Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath (2014 Special) and Derevi Empyrial Tactician (1v1 EDH 2013). We can finally figure out which is the best of them all!
Alexander Gabriel If you go by the precons out-of-the-box, I can tell you, the difference in power level is staggering. You could use own brews though.
MTG Kaylesh if they used home brews, Derevi would dominate and would make the matches hard to watch. Meren and Breya would be competitive, however Obby would be way underpowered:(
So I recently joined a magic group page on Facebook. I've been a fan of commander verses series since the beginning. And watching all you guys grow into better players while helping the community learn. I have shared your videos to this page in hoping the people will watch and we can continue this great series. So thank all of you guys for the amazing content can't wait to see what else is store. side note: Stephen green needs more punishment from John.
I always save your videos offline and really love all of them! I'll make sure to recommend it to all my friends. I tried ordering at scg way back and might order again just because of the videos you're creating. More power to you guys, you are the best!!
I love watching Mr. Suarez do his thing until he wins. The move to try and get an extra point by saving Justin just shows he's looking at all the angles. Nice work, man. Definitely getting a gold playmat.
i've watched all the commander vs videos and this was by far the best season since mcdarby left, great show great decks fewer mistakes and decent level of gameplay without dipping into broken and unfun things. grats
I gotta say it. The past 2 episodes have been the best in quite some time. Keep up the good work guys!!!! Oh and Justin, the opposite of yes is definitely no :P
Now that partner commander actually exists (thought you guys totally invented it), I'd love to see an all partner commander vs. game next season using only the precon partners to see what combinations you guys think of.
What episode did Stephen Green manipulate Justin into a play on his turn, only to immediately betray him the turn after? If I remember correctly Justin was on tilt and basically had blinders on for Stephen for the rest of the game.
Damn, the power level in this episode was way off the charts. I'm not sure if it's any higher than some of the other games but there were some absolutely insane combos going on here. These decks were brutal and amazing.
I would really love to see the thought process behind some whacky decks like the chairs deck or the left handed deck. Some kind of behind the scenes deck tech.
At 36:22 how does john cast the mirari's wake he does not have Any green mana to cast it ps. Sorry if i have grammar mistakes English is not my native tongue
hey this is my fav part of the versus series , you should do this commander every week :D/ok sry the season is over i get it now, can;t wait for the next season too i would like to see more flavour fun decks like having decks that are all cards from a single plane , or decks that start from the character story for example Zur the Enchanter wanter to have eternal life so he isolated from the world in search of it , that kind of stuff
Hey guys at Commander VS, I've been toying around with the notion of making a Superfriends deck for a long time, and with the release of Commander 2016, seeing Atraxa makes me want to use her as my General. I'd be very interested to see how an Atraxa Superfriends deck plays out, or even 4 Superfriend decks with different Generals to see the variety of options available (instead of just the proliferate at EoT).
at 1:51:30 ish. Yes Stephen that does work. strionic resonator plus any 2 mana rock (aka Sol ring that he has on the battlefield) goes infinite. trigger goes on stack, copy trigger, blink and untap Sol ring, venser, and resonator with copy of trigger, get venser etb and untap Sol ring and resonator. the original trigger is still on the stack, allowing you to copy it again with resonator. repeat until the board is gone. and it doesn't KILL everyone, so Jon wins with no loss of points. although I'm assuming that you all missed that, so more magic was had. which I'm ok with. but yes, Jon should win at the moment you let him untap with brago and resonator.
Hi guys, love the show. My favorite recent episode was the horde. Have you ever done a double headed giant episode? I think it would be fun to see who each pair would choose as commanders and how they would play together. Any thoughts?
Hey all! I would love to see one of you play somewhat of a voltron attacking theme with the commander Vorosh, the Hunter! I'm sure Jeremy would love to play yet another blue, black, and green deck ;) I can see the Villainous Wealth terrors coming back again lol
"[strionic resonator] isn't a combo," - jon suarez. Let's walk through this real quick... go to damage, brago trigger on the stack targets for the original don't matter, maintain priority tap sol ring and resonator to copy the ability, have the copy target the mana rocks, the resonator and, say, venser, the copy resolves and the stack looks like TOP, venser bounce target a permanent , original brago trigger with irrelevant targets, BOTTOM. sol ring and the talismans are untapped, venser trigger resolves and you can once again resonate brago's orginal trigger, the copy has the same targets as the first copy, this loop allows for infinitely many ETB triggers of anything brago can target and mana (during the combat damage step) Returning all permanents you don't control to your opponents hands usually prompts concessions.
Strionic Resonator actually does go infinite with Brago and a Sol Ring. Strionic Resonator copies Brago's ability while it's on the stack, the copy resolves, you bounce Resonator + Sol Ring, and then copy the original ability again, rinse and repeat. That original ability won't ever do anything, because the objects it targeted get lost, but you do get to copy it as many times as you want.
Charmandenator It wouldn't be Commander if they just played the Planechase precons in the anthology, like a previous commenter said, if they played commander decks with legendary creatures from the decks then we would be cooking with fire.
Cameron Holtan I thought it might be neat to play a non-commander format, but 2/4 of the legends have never been played, and Vela was only as a partner, so it probably would work fairly well to build around then.
Love the channel, though this was not the most interesting of matches. But hig quality production none the less, and the banter was cheerful as always. Did however appreciate seing Doge in play!
Really good season and a heck of a finish to it. Idea for a future theme. Taking 2 random of the partner generals and attempting to make decks with whatever happens with the 2 generals seems fun.
Lol, I love you guys and thank you for all your hard work and fun games, but this was soooo bad. How was the Zur player not hated out from the get-go? That was hard to watch. Still, I can't wait for more videos.
That Brago trigger around 1:50 would have just bounced everyone's land off the table and exiled every non-land permanent via stronic resonator, mana rocks, venser, and grasp of fate. NBD.
anyone notice john suarez won the game at around 1:55:00? brago plus rocks plus strionic resonator is infinite flicker and with venser he just bounces all opponents permanents. c-c-c-combooooo
Please do a Heaven vs Hell episode! Either tribal Angels or tribal Demons with one of you playing Gisela, Blade of Goldnight. She is my first and current commander and I would love to see her in that command zone. And check out the combo between her and Ajani Steadfast. Kaalia of the Vast would be a great commander too. Keep up the good work guys!
Justin, if your general gets Grasp of Fate'd, you can move it to the Command Zone and still get it back when Grasp of Fate leaves the battlefield. Recall that the Command Zone is a replacement effect for spells, such that Grasp of Fate, when targeting generals, now reads: "When Grasp of Fate enters the battlefield, for each opponent, move up to one target nonland permanent that player controls to the Command Zone until Grasp of Fate leaves the battlefield." Thus, when Grasp of Fate is removed from the battlefield, your general returns from the Command Zone to the battlefield, so long as you have no cast it from the Command Zone since it was placed there. This is in contrast to spells like Detention Sphere, Oblivion Ring, and Journey to Nowhere, which, after the replacement effect, still say to only return cards that have been exiled to the battlefield, as opposed to those moved to the Command Zone.
I think it would be interesting if in addition to color identity for deck construction rule that you also use the commanders cmc as a restriction. for example Stephen greens isamura cmc=1 so all non land cards in the deck must have a cmc=1. I believe this could be both fun and challenging for deck construction and play
Suarez missed a really cool play in his 1:52:21 turn. He could have attacked with Brago, and with the ability trigger on the stack, he could have used sol ring + strionic resonator to copy Brago's ability. With the copy, he could have targeted strionic resonator, Brago, and Venser. When it resolves, both Brago and Sol Ring come in untapped, and Venser bounces any targetable permanent back to Justin, Jeremy or Stephen hands. The original Brago trigger is still on the stack, so you do the same thing again. And again. And again... Until the opponents have no non-targetable permanents in play, including lands. It's cool because even though usually is a concede for the enemies, he could choose the order in which they die (he is just going to attack over the next turns in whatever order he wants), so he has control of where the points go. There really isn't anything the others can do... They don't have permanents... Brago+2 mana rock+strionic resonator is very cool!
Something a bit out there I'd like to see, Spellshaper EDH. maybe not Jaya as we've seen that. But from Alexi, Greel, Magata (urgh), Jolrael, Latulla. having generals that really do have abilities that feel iconic to their colours... Justin on Greel haha
Here is something I want to see: each of you playes a commander that is actually a pair of characters, like Pia and Kiran, Tibor and Lumia, Mina and Denn etc.
I know it’s an old video but strionic resonator does work with brago. You exile mana rocks and strionic resonator with the copied trigger and then when they come back untapped copy the trigger again, infinite combo. Also there was comment about Jon cheating, cycling is not casting a spell so he was fine, the only spell he cast was Venser.
You guys ever consider launching a separate channel for these? I love em, but there's no way in hell I'm subscribing with all the other videos SCG puts out.
Should do an episode where every card in the deck has a specific letter in it. Like every card has an "m" or an "a". Also agree with planechase episode that many have mentioned.
The 'Doge' art on each card is priceless. Well done.
hisi420ent Much damage. Very Voltron.
(Jeremy) Hello everyone! We're here today with deck ideas submitted by all of you! As we tend to do with each end of season episode, we took suggestions from you, the fans, to use as our Commanders. The points race was really tight this season, so this one is for all the marbles.
how does one submit a deck for possible future use?
Did Justin notice that his deck was missing the best color? black!
Star City Games Since planechase anthology came out it be fun to use the planechase cards and maybe use the legendary creatures in the decks as commanders.
Star City Games You guys should do a tier 1 commander game some time next season. Stax v Storm v Combo v Doomsday. That would be really cool :)
+Watason 723 they did a few seasons ago. They played two or three games on camera because they went so fast
Keepflyin that's because Steven is bad at this game #teamparnell
Also much much earlier around 46:00 in the game when he cast the first divine reckoning could have instead idealic tutored for Armored Ascension
Thank god somebody else said it.

Would love to see the other 4C generals powered up! Also please do partner commander episodes
I love watching Mr. Suarez do his thing until he wins. The move to try and get an extra point by saving Justin just shows he's looking at all the angles. Nice work, man. Definitely getting a gold playmat.
that was a interesting take on Zur. I loved this game.
may I recommend Alara commanders? Sharuum or Sen Triplets, Rafiq or Jenara, Sedris or Thraximundar, Mayael or Uril, Kresh or Karrthus ?
Warrant Officer Schrödinger I agree, i'd love to see sedris
yessss I want to see someone assemble the Uril-tron!
Warrant Officer Schrödinger that would be amazing. Needs to happen
Problem is, a lot of those have such a high threshold of power/aren't fun that the game would be really short or numbingly painful to sit through.
Uril is super super overpowered if it gets going. I dont reccomend it for these guys. (Saying this as a Uril Commander player)
i've watched all the commander vs videos and this was by far the best season since mcdarby left, great show great decks fewer mistakes and decent level of gameplay without dipping into broken and unfun things. grats
I am literally 15 minutes in and I am in love with the Doge cards.
I gotta say it. The past 2 episodes have been the best in quite some time. Keep up the good work guys!!!! Oh and Justin, the opposite of yes is definitely no :P
Thanks so much for playing with Kynaios! :D
Great season guys, keep it up! Next season can you each do a tribal deck playing you're favorite tribe.
Oh man those Doge alters really cracked me up. Good job Choi, and nice game guys.
Well that game would have gone totally differently if Jeremy would play a lovely card called bane of progress
I can’t remember does that get encouragements
@@DarkPikachuYTV artifacts and enchantments.
Jon's deck this week is probably my favorite from this season.
thank you Stephen Green I'm now building isamaru!
Thank you so much Jeremy! Finally a good old fashioned simic deck!
I don't use ad block in an attempt to support, and I understand this video is rather long but 12 ads is a little much.....
I was really rooting for Stephen this Ep! but glad to see Jon come out ahead.
Dude ill buy a signed mat from you! ;)
Perkyx Congratulations
Perkyx congrats lucky person
Congratulations ^^
(Jeremy) Make sure to send us a message on here so we can get your contact info to send you the prizes :)
Love you guys. Keep making great content. Long live Jonathan, lord of luxury.
That infinite combo with Brago, Strionic Resonator, Sol ring and Venser that Jon didn't use :P
Maybe he wanted to beat him fairly?
Josh Baker Technically it's still fair because it's within the rules of Magic but it's much less interactive
They stay away from infinite combos in this, and I love watching so much more because they do not use infinite combos.
They were talking about it at the time and it was pretty clear that nobody at the table understood the interaction at all.
Yep none of them understood the interaction
The doge pictures had me in stitches for five minutes
Now that partner commander actually exists (thought you guys totally invented it), I'd love to see an all partner commander vs. game next season using only the precon partners to see what combinations you guys think of.
I'm so excited!!! I haven't watched it yet cause class is about to start!! You guys are amazing!!
Great season thanks for the content guys! would love to see more Jund commander decks Primarily, Kresh or Adun Oakenshield.
Did Jon decide not to blink with Brago around 1:56:00 or did he just forget?
What episode did Stephen Green manipulate Justin into a play on his turn, only to immediately betray him the turn after? If I remember correctly Justin was on tilt and basically had blinders on for Stephen for the rest of the game.

At 36:22 how does john cast the mirari's wake he does not have Any green mana to cast it ps. Sorry if i have grammar mistakes English is not my native tongue
Emppu Sipiläinen he casted ut throught the effect of gonti, Lord of luxury
Hey how did John Astral Slide 2 creatures out with Decree of Silence?Astral slide only lets you flicker one creature per trigger right?
hey this is my fav part of the versus series , you should do this commander every week :D/ok sry the season is over i get it now, can;t wait for the next season too i would like to see more flavour fun decks like having decks that are all cards from a single plane , or decks that start from the character story for example Zur the Enchanter wanter to have eternal life so he isolated from the world in search of it , that kind of stuff
Have they played a Krenko, Mob Boss commander deck yet?
Would love to see more games in the same vein as your horde special.
That was really awesome.
No Sidisi for Justin = no justice! Still #TeamParnell #ParnellBlue #BlackManaMatters #WHEREISTHEBLACKMANAJUSTIN though
Man, this season was sweet though. Great ending to a great season!
Can't wait for season 6! Back to rehab for 3 or 4 weeks :(

@1:49:12 Jon tapped Dust Bowl and Island to cast Venser. Then untapped the lands. Then put Venser back into play.
wow what a season! love the show guys! next season could we see Justin play an Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch deck!

Returning all permanents you don't control to your opponents hands usually prompts concessions.
Quote should have "with Brago" tacked on, it wont let me edit for some reason
Yeah, Brago + Strionic Resonator + 2 mana from mana rocks is infinite.
Justin's venser's journal made me think that you should do a book themed deck
Strionic Resonator actually does go infinite with Brago and a Sol Ring. Strionic Resonator copies Brago's ability while it's on the stack, the copy resolves, you bounce Resonator + Sol Ring, and then copy the original ability again, rinse and repeat. That original ability won't ever do anything, because the objects it targeted get lost, but you do get to copy it as many times as you want.
What if you guys play a four player Planechase game using the Planechase Anthologies decks?
I'd say, a Planechase anthology using the Legendary Creatures from the decks as commanders.
Would justin have a bunch more health off of vensers journal ,or did i miss something?
Love the channel, though this was not the most interesting of matches. But hig quality production none the less, and the banter was cheerful as always. Did however appreciate seing Doge in play!
Wow, seems like every season just flies by!
It's a layup to put the fifteen partners into the Random Theme next season and I hope you guys do it.
Another amazing season guys keep up the good work. For a future commander one of you guys should use Animar, Soul of Elements.
I would love to see all theme deck. Like the chairs and Doge decks. Would be pretty cool to see everyone work to build very specific decks.
I haven't seen you guys play omnath, locus of mana (my favorite commander.) Love to see you play her.
Really good season and a heck of a finish to it. Idea for a future theme. Taking 2 random of the partner generals and attempting to make decks with whatever happens with the 2 generals seems fun.
I'd like to see more Tribal stuff (if possible) :)
Love the content! Keep the fun stuff coming!
I am currently building a Doge deck and I was delighted to find this video!
NBD.
Lol I like how if you look at Isamaru's EDHREC page there was a spike in activity right after this video came out.
even if you bounce the fog creature, wouldnt the etb effect of fogging still prevent the damage that turn?
:12 in and im already laughing and hitting that thumbs up
anyone notice john suarez won the game at around 1:55:00? brago plus rocks plus strionic resonator is infinite flicker and with venser he just bounces all opponents permanents. c-c-c-combooooo
I don't blame Gonti, I blame Stephen for not focusing on one player at a time with Doge. =P
In all seriousness though, fantastic season. Keep it up!
Just starting the video but Zur and Momir are two of my favorite commanders :D Very happy lol
What were the last 2 cards Gonti stole? I saw that Jeremy's card was primespeaker
Another fantastic season :D
all doges go to heaven LOL
I thought first blood didn't count off of the commander? Or am I remembering the series' rules wrong
Why did the angel enchantment get destroyed when the metamorph hits board?
Liran Yaniv and one player who puts way too much into making Brothers Yamazaki happen in EDH just for the bragging rights.
Is there someplace that they post how they score the games? I don't really understand how their point system works.
First episode of each season
I know it’s an old video but strionic resonator does work with brago. You exile mana rocks and strionic resonator with the copied trigger and then when they come back untapped copy the trigger again, infinite combo.
Also there was comment about Jon cheating, cycling is not casting a spell so he was fine, the only spell he cast was Venser.
Not sure if someone mentioned it already but councils judgement if everyone picks a different target, since they are all tied then they all get exiled
Hey guys. Where do we submit deck ideas for you to play for a last episode? Thanks guys #teamgreen #chestache
what is the best way to submit decks to you guys
Love the show
You guys ever consider launching a separate channel for these? I love em, but there's no way in hell I'm subscribing with all the other videos SCG puts out.
You can subscribe to the "Commander vs series" playlist. Search for it and click "+".
What's the point system you guys are using?
Powered up 4C commander decks would be pretty neat next season. Great season as always! #cheststache
That zur deck looks amazing I might have to try building it.
Where do they order their sleeves? (brand?)
damn that was intense. Stephen Verde, don't worry, next check i should be buying my green mat and the new proliferate general. :) #chestsache
Great editing
Nice Suarez! Way to step into the winner's circle!
y'all should play planechase anthology by making the precons in it into commander decks
Ok thx i just did not notice the "you may spend mana as though it were mana of Any type to cast it" part of the card
the meletis lovers 28:50 seem like a decent general after seeing it play
Should do an episode where every card in the deck has a specific letter in it. Like every card has an "m" or an "a". Also agree with planechase episode that many have mentioned.
Theme idea - fan-submitted deck lists?
Have they done block commander decks yet?
Best commander versus in my opinion.
How does Suarez get to play Mirari's Wake in Esper?
BrokenChampion he stole it from Parnell via Gonti
Anyone have a price list for Stehhen's deck?
