Actor Creates Movie Scene On iPhone | FunnyCrazy Character Performance “Don’t Condescend Me, Martha”

I filmed my own movie scene with my
iPhone and one light, one tripod, and one prop, Martha. I just wanted to let go and experiment with letting an “out there” character performance just happen and see how it worked. I didn’t judge it or stop it, I just did it. And After watching it the first time I was blown away and laughed really hard. This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen. And doing it is a totally different experience from watching it. But I like directing and editing the final product, so watching is fun to see what you’re creating!
I took inspiration from the “don’t condescend me” line from Brad Pitt in True Romance. Always loved that line. This character Jack is my own hybrid drama plus comedy type of character I made up. I don’t know, maybe it’s really stupid. But that’s also kind of the point. It is stupid. And I can’t believe this character even came out of me because I don’t recognize myself at all haha. It’s like watching a different person. You have to be your own biggest fan sometimes and keeping working on your creativity, it helps!
This is a scene for my new limited series I’m trying to write and create with my iPhone called Artificial Love. I wrote it myself. Maybe the dialogue (writing) deserves roasting haha but I like blunt on-the-nose dialogue sometimes because it’s funny to me. The shots and lighting I set up myself as well to create some sort of cinematic & dramatic lighting. But overall the shots… I am not sure are tied in together very well. My character might look too far removed from the other character, Martha. I didn’t get a wide shot tying us together or a dirty over the shoulder shot. But I tried to shoot it all on the correct side of the line at least. And I kept it real as that was the actual staging setup in the room.
I made this to practice. To film theatrical stuff and to act. And I hope there’s potential for something better. I see potential and improvement and thats what matters the most to me. But I need help long term. Help with writing. Help with the larger story. Help with the character. Help from a director of photography. A producer. Someone who knows this kind of stuff and knows how to make good movies. 🎥

Thank you 🙏🏼 this means a lot, I’m glad. That’s what I want to do is inspire others and entertain and do a good job. I say just go film stuff and work on it daily. It’s rewarding for your soul and gets you excited when you see progress… and enjoy the journey! I’m near the bottom still of where I want to go and what I think I could potentially create in the future!

That’s awesome! Hoped it was funny. But No not actually scripted, I made it all up on the fly. Improvisation. But I know the character so it’s easy it just flows out in the moment.
