Great video again! And yeah definitely would like to see a review of that knife.
Btw, what are those pants you are wearing??
I have a question I hope you can answer. I have have asked a close friend of mine who is local DNR and she didn't know and hadn't noticed. I live in Michigan and this summer many days the air is thick and hazy with what we are told is Canadian wild fires. Me and my family have been dealing with unusual respiratory issues. Just constant and severe allergies and the resulting issues. But my question is why isn't there more reporting on this. I haven't seen one picture or video of these fires. This isn't actually normal in our 24/7 news cycle and constant Facebook feed.
Another great video. Your not bad for an east coast guy. I've been making those 50 cal. ammo can, camp stoves. I gotta say, they're pretty good stoves, if I do say so myself.
You sure do have beautiful Axes but I'd like to see ya review some Splitting Mauls. I've been felling trees and splitting for over 25 years now and I use a good sharp axe for felling and a good size maul for splitting. I've been telling people for years to use a maul for splitting because I have to split Elm from time to time and its the only thing that'll do the job.
Cody, I love these "old school Wranglerstar" style vids. Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate and enjoy the newer stuff, but this content is why I subbed to you all those years ago. I'd love to see more of this type content!
Hell yes!
I 100% agree with this.
Yep
Good on you helping your fellow Oregonians with the Portland tent city situation.
Glad to see the Old North State represented well! That's a solid knife!
The neophyte’s Grandpa-these type of videos are sorely needed in our technical society where far too many “men” didn’t have fathers or grandfather to mentor-Thanks Cody.
love the series of traditional and lost skills
“Not to be confused with Filthy east coast man”…holy lord and savior, Cody. Shots fired.
ya gotta make fun of east coast men since there arent any men on the west coast
lived on the west coast. big time west coast sissies everywhere… met a few real dudes. but ya…
@@ghostlight69420Ross is getting it.
@@covert0overt_810covert is also getting it. Cody…
I made a shack in the woods this summer. It's made of fallen timer and a tarp roof. It's where I'm living until I can buy some land. I found a woman who loves it. She loves bathing in ruvers and sitting around doing nothing in the woods. I even showed her how to use an axe, saw, drawknife and chisels. She loved it. A man with skills can get things done. Glad your teaching people to be homeless. Its fine living if you have a few tools and skills.
Happy days 😊
It's good to see the denim armor plating getting a rest.
It will be back.
@@wranglerstar LOL Not your look though. You look like a comrade fulfilling his quota putting tires on communist tractors. The flannel is acceptable, and befitting the PNW.
The denim dandy.

Being raised an Oregonian and recently relocating to North Carolina, I appreciate your comments about "North Carolina Man."
I’m originally from Wisconsin. Moved to NC 5 years ago. Great place.
"Luckiest moth in the world" - Dont know why, but that gave me a good laugh lol
I'd move to come spend a week with you. I love these kinda things👍👍
we use our canvas tent each year for a week long sukkot celebration, everything your saying about having a wood stove is spot on - and yes it keeps my wife, 3 daughters, and 3 sons toasty warm!
if you can keep mama warm and dry you’ve done well
"Maybe you'll find one" with that shrug really had me laughing! Really enjoying this series so far :)
Yes. I love that bush craft knife. It looks so pretty.
Never leave the house without a good dependable knife. I’d love to see a review on that bad boy! Excellent content sir, thank you.
Nice. For a single person like me, plus my dogs, I really like the Springbar or Kodiak Canvas spring tent. It is almost wind proof. I’ve had mine up in 40 mph gusts and it held fine.
Love both of my Kodiaks
Absolutely a knife review. God bless you and your family.
i wanted to see the knife!.. did i miss something?
Some DamnGood Content my brother. I'm Appalachian mountain filth & love watching common sense on display.
👏
My Wife would rock that tent but she is Canadian, all the best from Arkansas!
Love videos like these!
North Carolina Mountain man here. It makes me happy to hear you recognize NC man is not East coast man... but don't forget the distinction between MOUNTAIN NC man and COASTAL NC man. Coastal NC man is East Coast man 😂 😂😂
Looking foward to this series!
this is one of my favorite topics that you're doing a video on, keep them coming! A godly man needs so little to be happy, less is more Amen!
Loving this mini series Cody, looking forward to the next videos :)
Same here
LOVE that you have been doing more of the regular length videos. I, unfortunately, don't have time for the live streams, so I've been enjoying the last few videos, thanks.
Love this series Cody.
Reminds me of Moose Hunt camp setup in Northern Ontario 🇨🇦 (Probably considered filthy East Coast Man haha)
Only difference I found interesting is pops made an X cut in the stove jack for the pipe to go through. He would wrap the outside base and flaps with motorcycle exhaust wrap. Not sure if it makes much of a difference but we always stayed warm and dry.
In the Army we used to have this weird stove polish that knocked the rust off the stove pipes pretty nicely and made them pleasant for inspections. Kept them from rusting easily in storage though they always started rusting up immediately after use. I definitely recommend it if the stove will spend summer months in storage.
lineseed oil, applied warm in several layers it turns into an laquer, burns only off slowly on the hottest parts, so just keep reapplieing there, is how we keep our kitcvhen stov from making rust
The skid steer looked like it was sitting on the anvil! thank you for all the info. God bless.
Awesome series.
Primative woodsman makes some really good knives I've been carrying one for almost a year now.
I always want a wranglerstar knife review
Or a nutnfancy review
God bless and thank you for the knowledge
With that small stove in winter and such large tent - small heat, a lot of show turned to ice on roof. Can result in some unpleasant scenarios. Better to have a lot of snow on roof, no such many bad scenarios. Snow can be a good isolation layer.
I should have went this 14 X 16 Tent route vs the whole marriage and mortgage BS.
Good to see you're adapting to the true Oregonian living style in a tent!
Heck yea we want a knife review
I clicked the video cuz I'm interested in a new fixed blade for me and a possibly a gift for my nephew. That's a really nice blade, I wanted one till I seen their price lol. Cottage vendors are expensive. Think I'm gonna go with the esee pr4 instead
Fourdog stoves are the pinnacle of camp stove. Air tight, runs all night on little fuel.
I need to watch the series and see how you got/made that tent.
Love this! Thank you 🙏
great video series, nice to see you back to doing these types of videos !! The stove pipes I'm used to usually have an end piece with cover to block direct rain and several guide lines attached
O and yes a knife review would be great. :) I noticed a little fraying around the hole you cut in the fireproofing material from the canvases. I would like to see how sharp those knives can get and stay that sharp. Or even if you have tips for keeping a good cutting edge on the blade.
Thank god for a full video
Really enjoying this series, looking forward to seeing it all finished.
I lived in a tent for 4 months in Homer Alaska. It was…an adventure for sure
Getting a hot tent, stove and a couple of cots is on my to do list.
Thrilled about this series!
I used to setup wall tents for back country drop camps in Wyoming. Our hunting region had grizzly bears so all food was hung from bear poles and camp kitchen had to be in a separate tent. I will never forget these experiences. Great videos.
Well done!! This was pretty cool to see.
I’ve been really enjoying these recent videos, looking forward to the next. 👍
I got excited and thought it was a winkler knife at first. Nevertheless I’d still like to hear about it
loving this new series of videos. I've never done camping like this so it's rather interesting to know. And of course could be handy in the near future.
thank you. god bless.
Yes sir, plz review that knife. Also is it worthwhile to put some duct tape or other fire resistant tape around hole you cut for the stove piping? In my head it seems like it would help prevent fraying after extended use.
Love this series Cody!
As a happy and intentionally single woman, i look forward to setting up my canvas house on my property next year.
Really, really good content and I’m very excited to see more!
When i went through basic training our last field exercise in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri winter 2007. We had to set up literallg everything you have set up there. Only difference was we had what is called pot belly stove. Had to go out and gather our own firewood and start the fire and keep it going with nothing but matches. Sounds easy right? When everything was not soaking it probably would have been..only thing that kept us from freezing was i came up with the idea to use my little bottle of hand sanitizer as an accelerant. We were broke off in 3 platoons and my platoon was the only one who got the fire going. Had fire guard detail all night trading out every couple hours and thats wherw the term fire guard comes from. Keep the fire going not just securitiy while everyone sleeps. Had 27 men in full battle rattle sleeping on the bare ground. Even wirh that fire going all night still cold unless you were close to that pot belly.
You mean they didn't just give y'all extension cords and space heaters at Fort Lost in the Woods, and check your "stress cards" frequently to ensure that you were untraumatized? ;)
@@stevealford230 being they knew most of us would end up in afghanistan within months of completing our AIT (and i know i did for 15 months) or advanced individual training ya no not at all. I remember hearing all that bullshit before I went in and to be honest being someone going through it you are like hell ill take it if it's that easy but it was the exact opposite of all that bullshit. I was always pretty tough as well growing up. Raised in and around construction, hunting, playing football and being very good at it and the youngest of 3 boys. In short I was def tougher than many my early 80s babies generation.
One other thing we had to do due to the rain and snow melting etc and also where the tent was located we had to dig a little trench around the exterior of the tent to prevent water from running through the ground or the floor inside the tent if you will. Just an added note for those actually considering doing this for training or for the incoming fall of human kind having no choice but to do it to survive
You have to figure the large amount of water that will be running down the sides from the roof which is more than most consider. Depending on the lay of the land this can act as a gutter system. Forgive me if Mr W forgot to mention or didn't mention that is one of the major factors in setting up a tent of any size is eye ball the lay of the land. Last thing you want to do is set it up In an unnoticeable bowl or valley and wake up in a puddle of water
@@OG-GHOST2 I think you may have missed the joke... I was 37F, Benning and Bragg... and I was playfully making fun of Ft Leonard Wood.
knife looks like a Dan Winkler hand forged knife. Very popular with Spec Ops teams and outdoorsmen throughout USA! i have 4 of his handmade knifes for hunting and general outdoor use, USMC Ret.
Great stuff brother!!
YES...we wanna see all about that sweet blade from NC!!! God bless you & fam🙏🙏🙏🙏
When i use a big wall tent like this in the winter i use a stove my dad and I made from a 55-gallon barrel. And we have been able to get the bottom glow red
These are the videos I love from you brother, these are the videos I subscribed for.
Love these videos . Thanks for doing what you do .
Man. That anvils awsome.
Love this guy! Don't always agree with his dramatic over reacting but he's very informative. That said, do you see that "structure" with a roof, four wall, and a TON of stuff? Some people may consider that a HOME. An over prepared home. Not home-less
Watching this all I want to do is sandblast the stove and then paint it with black satin high-heat paint. 😄
Yes, please review that knife
Chimney dampers are important for high winds. My house stove has one
Many, many elk hunts I've done in Eastern Oregon living in a wall tent. May want to educate your viewers on creosote build up in the chimney.. Just my 2 pennies.
I have a metal roof jack for our tent. Two piece one piece goes on the out side at the roof jack location and one goes on the inside and they clamp together and the pipe contacts only metal.
I'm glad to see you making videos like when you first got into TH-cam. You've stayed away from that.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing this. 👍👍👍
Simply safe got the nod over the live stream😊
Seeing that tent I almost want to put one in the backyard just to have a place to do some work outside.
Great video! Always enjoy your videos.
That brought back some memories
This is ALL outstanding ..!! And i will have one of those knives. Excellent..! Like to have one in the Nessmuk design...or a Kephardt design
That moth said I'm outta here 😂
Good stuff sir
I like this set up. Was looking at these kind of tents on Amazon not sure of there quality though. My buddy uses fire logs to light his stove im kida cheap so i had this years firewood ready before the snow melted and kindling mixed in with about seven bags of extra kindling in the garage for that extra cold mornings when you got get things going quickly 😂.
I’ve always loved the idea of setting up a prospector tent and roughing it. But having a tent is the east part. Having land and security for the tent is the hard thing.
Hey Cody , I was wondering how you sealed the stove pipe going through the ceiling/roof of the tent ? Great video I can't wait for the next one.
thx pa
East Coast man uses a tomato tin to make a spark arrester for the top of the stack
It warmed my heart to hear you differentiate the North Carolina man from the dirty east coast man.
Maybe this was covered already but when cutting the vent hole how about an "X" style cut similar to putting a straw through a lid cup.
Get a Winnerwell stove. Awesome quality stainless steel.
Yeah chimney support video is good idea , bucket o sand and o water, nearby is also good idea.
Sounds like you need an AMTAC Minuteman. But only if you like Idaho and Bill Rapier of Amtac shooting.
Nice sauna!
That's a beautiful knife it's giving me the fizz
My dad taught my some things...but never this.
I don't know how well they grow in your environment but you should look into Jerusalem sunchokes
Does this mean we will get our winter livestreams from the tent? Because I'm really hoping
Yes
I know a guy who's live in a tent for the last 10 years.
Stove.
Bed.
Coffee pot.
Fridge.
Computer...
I would love a review of a North Carolina knife. That’s home ❤
Hello beloved
I’d love to see a full review of that knife!
Been working on my primitive camping. I got a Teflon 12 person and quickly fell in love with going big. Thank you
