Wishing Mandy a speedy and full recovery, as a retired police officer I would advise you to report the matter to your local police, you cannot see the bigger picture, it's possible that others have had similar break ins and theres even a possibility someone has already been caught, report all incidents no matter how trivial you think they are, your information just might be the missing link police are looking for. Happy New Year !!
Sandy, this culprit who had a go at your garage, is a male, young, possibly two, and hasn’t the expertise to commit a theft. Probably a teen who is unstable, but it’s not a professional thief, or an older adult….the sent to the theft, or break-in, has all the hallmarks of an amateur…but do get a crime number to this as there might be others who are going through the same thing, but your looking for youngsters for sure….it’s not the work of a adult bike thief…or burglar…….if you have a police community support worker in your area, that’ll do, report it to them, that’ll get passed on, I’m not suggesting the Central Criminal Intelligence Agency….lol, but do make a crime report…….
No Sandy.... You're not paranoid. You're like me mate. Analytical!..... The latch thing explanation ...Makes perfect sense to me. Wishing Mandy all the best mate. Rob.
I hope Mandy gets better soon. Bad weather seems to bring on the worst problems. A little time in the sunshine is always the best medicine for me. If I can, I always try and plan for the sun on my face when ever it pops out from behind the clouds of winter. Your system looks good to me Sandy, I used to find that inconvenience was the biggest deterrent to a thief. When I was in Florida, I used to make sure all the electrical connectors had plenty of dielectric grease on the inside and a moisture block on the outside. Including the battery cables. Plenty on no start conditions were do to a perfectly clean negative cable that when removed was crunchy with corrosion on the inside. I would also note that a battery tender prevents sulfating in the battery, making it last much longer than a battery left to discharge on a regular basis. Absorbed Glass Matt batteries also did well combating this issue. All that say AGM. Get well and stay well, the sun will be back out soon.
Really hope Mandy is okay. Glad the new security is working out and giving you peace of mind. That protective layer you’re applying to your bikes is very clever and seems to work perfectly, always good to hear from you, take care Sandy.
I hope Mandy recovers soon. I like the look of your security devices, it makes you realise how vulnerable we all are when something like this happens. Looking forward to some better weather.
I don’t know how people can enjoy using something or enjoy profiting from something they know belongs to someone else. Here in rural central US it’s becoming more of a problem in small towns than it was not many years ago. Hope all stays safe for you and prayers for Mandy.
Good to see you sandy you couldn’t have enough security these days to keep out vermin, all the best to Mandy and hope she is feeling better soon all the best from Martin 👍👍🇮🇪
Hi Sandy, stay warm my friend, i hope that your belongings stay safe with you, and that Mandy will be back with you very soon, I wish you both good health.
Wishing all the best to Mandy for a speedy recovery. ill look out for you if you come to the Suffolk area as that's my turf. love your videos whatever the subject. Take care Sandy 😄
Sandy, Sorry to hear Mandy isn’t well. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Thanks’ for the security advice. I like the owl recommendation. If you do reconsider heading West and cross the Irish Sea for as few day’s adventure later in the year, let me know. I’d be happy meeting up. Des
I’m sorry to hear Mandy is in hospital. I’m in hospital too as I watch this. My youngest daughter has been unwell & has trouble with her kidneys. It’s horrible when someone has invaded your castle. Puts you on edge. I remember when I lived at home, early hours of the morning I awoke to someone jumping over our garden wall & I watched a man trying to break in to my dad’s garage. He soon legged it when shouted at him. That’s all it took lucky for me. Just take it easy
Hi Sandy,I totally get your concern & frustration with the break in,in an ideal world we dream up all kinds of deterents to ward off intruders,I could sit here all day discussing this subject but by the end we would both lose the will to live,I take my hat off to you for your tolerant approach, but I reckon an 80mm cannon wired to the garage door would sort the individual out in this world & certainly the next,if only, all the best to you & Mandy,Colin P
Thanks Sandy for the video, sorry you haven’t had the best start to 2025. I hope Mandy is well and back home with you very soon. I think I’d agree with some of the previous comments - if you don’t report thinks to the authorities then they don’t know what’s going on. My wife and I have had a couple of stays in Suffolk,it’s a lovely and interesting county, thoroughly recommend a trip if you get the chance. Look forward to your next adventure!
Wishing Mandy well, hope she improves and is back home very quickly. Stay positive Sandy, things (and the weather) can only get better and you'll be back out adventuring before you know it.
Hope mandy has a speedy recovery I know how you feel, my dear wife passed away 2 weeks before Christmas with heart failure, and the added strain of having to deal with security of your property to protect it from scum, is something you don't need right now, try and stay positive I no it's hard take care 👍
Hope Mandy soon recovers I had blood clots in my lungs last year not nice was put on medication to break them down I wouldn’t be showing the sercurty I have just make it difficult for the scum if they come back call 999 then they have a better chance of catching them thanks for sharing take care stay safe sending get well wishes to Mandy👍
I hope your wife gets better sooner rather than later, and good to hear there is no more drama regaurding the garage. Take care of yourself and your family. ✌

Not an auspicious start to the New Year; wishing you and your good lady a speedy recovery.
my thoughts are with your wife and your self sandy. it's a crazy and sad world where we have to do this security to keep our home and belongings safe. but chin up sandy as always ❤
Hi, Sandy. Sorry to hear about Mandy. Life is full of ups and downs and hopefully things will improve for you and yours. Thanks to your inspirational videos, I camped out twice in these cold conditions and enjoyed it. All the best, Dave.
Sorry to hear about your wife mate, wishing her a quick recovery 🙏 Thanks for the mention buddy, come down to Suffolk and I'll buy you lunch in my local 12th century pub! 🍻
I'll let you know in advance of my planned visit to Suffolk Willie, I'll probably leave it til the warmer weather and try and book a campsite for a few days so I can tour around. Hope to see you on Shaun's livestream tomorrow:)
Wow Sandy! I hope Mandy gets better ASAP. There is also the possibility that she will be more careful with her diet, if that is the case, of course. ATB. Gabriel.
Hi Sandy, sorry to hear about the Mrs, hope all goes well. Its a sad world when you need to go to such lengths to protect your own property. Im going back 60 years and there a series of garage break ins, people had a good idea who it was but Dad had two railway spanners around 3 foot long, he tied them together and put up a trip rope when the door was opened. Next day claret everywhere, then we saw the suspect with broken teeth, split lip and flat nose. Dad said hi Cyril been in a fight, yes was the reply. Take care.
Sorry to hear that Mandy is unwell. Hopefully won’t be too long before you can get her home. I can fully sympathise the last year has been one we won’t be sorry to see the back of, my wife has been in and out of hospital. Great tips on the security. I’ll really have to look at shed security to protect my cycles. Cheers, Bill.
I hope your Missus is on the mend, prayers for her. Canada and Britain have similar property protection laws, and it's a bloody shame that citizens can't use more active methods to secure their property, and when we do, we're painted as the guilty party. Strange times we're living in, Sandy.
Sending best wishes to Mandy for a speedy recovery. Maybe see you before the winter's out for a hot-tent camp. I've very nearly completed the lavvu mods.
Ventilation is the first thing to do and see if it works for you, before any expense of heating. I keep bikes in a shed in Yorkshire and ventilation DOES work really well and it costs nothing to keep going.
Best wishes to Mandy, hope she is on the mend and home soon, yes that’s certainly a different video from you but priorities take over sometimes don’t they. Keep plodding on as they say and the chance for rides out and camps will return, and we are all looking forward to you filming them and sharing them with us. All the best from a very chilly Cheshire 👍🏻
Hi Sandi. All best for your wife.i think the lad who broke in was looking for mountain bikes , something that can be sold on.i had the same few years ago.
Feel for you both, stay safe and take care. Has been minus 9 C here in Argyll for a few days now, the wee dehumidifier and battery tenders have been keeping the bikes in good nick.
I hope your Mrs is feeling better quickly. I think you've done sensible measures against the thieves. Give them multiple obstacles to take away opportunistic thievery and if they are more persistent make it difficult and alert you. Thats about all we can do short of a bank vault for our bikes and tools. I've had tools, trailers, and firearms stolen in the past. Happily the firearms were recovered about 3 hours away from me at that time and they caught the guy, who was a relative of a neighbor. My garage isn't insulated and I'm in a coastal area that is cold/humid/wet. I do the coatings but the dehumidifier was the best thing. I dump almost 2 gallons every day and a half to two days in a car and a half size garage. When I was away on vacation for a month in November I hung up four of the huge DriRid bags. They were full and the concrete floor was damp when I got back. Luckily the bikes and my tools looked good. I was impressed by the DriRid so I put a couple in our old 1976 Airstream to help it out. They aren't cheap either, about $13usd per bag.
I wonder how much it costs to run a dehumidifier? I've heard they aren't cheap to run? Hopefully with the mods I have planned for my garage in the new year things will be better:)
I live on the Suffolk Essex boarder sandy, it sure is a very pretty part of the country. Where I cycle you could think you were on Dartmoor with some of the views
First of all, God Bless Mandy and her quick recovery from the hospital visit. She has had kind of a rough go of it the past few years so she surely deserves a break from it. (And so does her family.) Worrying about loved ones definitely takes a toll on all of the family. And for you Sandy, I believe that you have done a very solid job of arranging for the security of your both your motorcycles and the other contents of your garage and shop. Very well done. And you appear to have a pretty good system in place to keep the rust and corrosion at a minimum on your trusty motorcycles also. A great solution I think. Thank you for your thoughts, advice, and the other information my friend. It is always appreciated. Take care, stay healthy and I will surely see you on the next one.
I wish your wife a speedy recovery. On bike storage/security - I like your idea of removing the motorcycles’ seats. Simple addition to making machines a little less attractive to any potential opportunistic lowlifes loitering about. I’ll be using that one myself. 👍
All the best to Mandy. You're lucky to have a cold garage mate, my bike lives outside all year in a cold folding bike tent thing. Every time I open it up the bike is absolutely soaked but twice a year when it's dry and warm I wash it, dry it and ACF50 it and no problem.
Sandy I've recently had my garage in an attempt to steal my bikes. New door fitted courtesy of my insurers. Security now updated with both a Wi-Fi camera and the wise owl. I don't advertise my upgrades, hopefully won't happen again. Up and over doors are very secure, the best thing I use are chains and disc locks.
Hi Sandy, I hope mandy gets well soon ,It is hard, Sandy. I look after my wife,so I know what you mean, I can't go too far on my bike. Seem your security is sorted. Very good video, you keep warm. Best of luck to you both
Hello Sandy, Thanks for your update looks like you have things well covered well done. Wishing your good lady Mandy a speedy recovery. Take care and best wishes.
Hope mandy gets better soon. It's hard when you got commitments but you got to make the most of any spare time. I'm going to try and get out and do more of my hobbies this year. I have 6 ring cameras now and plus 2 sim card cameras for area's with without WiFi and it helps for picece of mind. All the best sandy.
Hi Sandy 👋🏻👋🏻. Sorry to hear Mandy is in hospital, hopefully the doctors will get her all sorted and you will have her back home with you soon. As if you don’t have enough worries you now have to contend with a burglar sniffing around. At least Carmen and Zita will alert you if the person/s get close to your house. Hopefully other neighbours have security cameras. Thoughts are with you and Mandy, stay safe, well and strong. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hi Sandy, sorry to hear about your XYL. Hope she recovers soon and gets back on her feet keeping you on your toes. To be honest I’m not sure how wise it is talking about security even though I know you have more besides. All you can do is place as many obstacles in their way as you can to make their lives harder. A pity we are not allowed to connect things to the mains but that’s a completely different discussion. I’m a great believer in thick chains and big padlocks too, at my previous property I made a concrete base for a shed and buried a thick length of chain in the concrete and brought it up through the floor of the shed. I connected the same shed up to the burglar alarm of the house and fitted a extra loud siren in there with a cage around it. I have since moved QTH and had to start all over again. Sometimes new visible deterrents do the trick in your situation. Even something as simple as parking a vehicle up against the garage door so that is doesn’t open is a simple cost effective option too. I agree about not involving the police until you really have to and to be honest I think you already know this but other than a sympathetic ear they won’t be able to do a great deal. All you can do is protect your bikes against the condensation, it’s going to happen and without great expense you can’t fight nature. I use a substance called Lanoguard which seems very effective, it’s made from Lanolin from sheep’s fleeces. Don’t get too hung up on making TH-cam content, sounds like you have enough on your plate. Best 73’s
Sorry to hear about Mandy l do hope she gets well soon. Thanks for sharing the security measures, it has helped me being alone. All the best Sandy. Jan
The Himalayan you could take the spark plug out with there only being one .also get one of those hand held fog horn and if he’s braking in just stand there sounding it I know it sounds stupid but you are drawing attention he doesn’t want a ruckus
Hi Sandy hope mandy gets well soon, you've had a rough time of things at the starting of new year I hope things improve as the weeks go on, best wishes, Colin.
Firstly Sandy; big love and healing to Mandy ❤ Another great video and thanks for sharing… we were in the woods today Felling Ash dieback and splitting wood! Highly recommend Reolink cameras; we use them in the woods and on our property 👍🏻😀
Hi Sandy, regarding seeing intruders on camera, most cameras have an alarm you can sound and a speaker so you can shout! Better than going to see! Or a bright torch and acme football whistle
Wishing Mandy a speedy recovery. Some wise words Sandy, always better to call the police than to tackle them yourself, especially as he say, they may be armed. Some good security improvements. Take care, buddy.
Sorry to hear Mrs. W.M. is unwell again. Condensation on the bikes is a bggr. I wonder, have you ever looked into those inflated ‘tents’ for storage. I have no idea if they solve the condensation problems.
OK sandy you done all you can with security side don't loose sleep over that remember there only things and can be replaced. Just look after what is important and am sure you do no need for me to say. Best regards to you.
Sandy, don't leave your bike chains lying on the floor they are easier to hold down and attempt to cut, they can be stood on, put them through the wheel and up and over the bike then they are a right pain to do anything with as they move all over the place, you can't hold them down or still... I've only had one bike nicked in 48 years of riding...
Oh mate, life dealing a few challenges just now for you. Wishing Mandy well, hopefully they'll get her settled as soon as possible. Good that you are giving such respect to this weather right now, stay safe for yourself & Mandy. It seems you are doing more than ever to protect your property in every way. I'm sure it will pay you dividends. Take care mate.
Hope Mandy is well again soon. You can only slow them down until the police arrive, if they do. Condensation is a pain, remember when all metal parts were stored in grease paper. Similar principal to what you described. Lindsay's Dad Pete had a bunch of old Scammell wheel nuts all wrapped in the grease paper and they were rust free after 40 years in a garage.
Hope Mandy gets over her latest health problem Sandy and the local burglar gets caught. Regarding the condensation you could try a few dishes of salt to absorb the excess moisture and change them when they get saturated. It is used on holiday caravans in the winter when they are unoccupied and is cheap to set up and no running costs. Regards Keith
My wife is in hospital at this moment so I do sympathise with you both. I keep my motorcycle in my shed with a cover over it and place a small bar heater under the engine. The cover contains the heat and stops the condensation. Very cheap to run as well.
It's a tough one Sandy haven't you got CCTV, you've ever right to be paranoid. Sad to hear about your wife I myself suffer with blood clots as well fortunately there are great tablets out now to help.
Hi Sandy, firstly, like so many others I do hope Mandy is okay and she is soon home safe with you. On the subject to the thieves, I grew up on a rough south London council estate, living amoung house breakers and the like. The one thing I know is that they are lazy, so if like you have done make your property a lot harder for them to thieve from, than say a neighbours, they will always go for the neighbours gear. When you go out draw your curtains in the front room and leave the TV with the sound on and never just leave a hall or landing light on. I think the way you have protected your bikes is the best thing to do. One thing you can do with a garage with brick or block walls is to fix a scaffold tube, or angle or channel through the two walls cemented or concreted in, so you can chain the bikes to the bar, thus in effect chaining to the structure. 🤞the buggers have buggered off for good. ATB Big Dave Scotland
One of the problems with sensor activeted devices is, insect can trigger them, my and neighbours light keep going on all night long. Hope yours are less sensitive, they are very noisy.
Sandy . Like your I wondered how id react. When the bas###ds came and took my KTM they cut through a thatcham approved chain as I see in your video like a knife through butter! Which made me realise they had at least 3ft bolt cutters. Probably fulled on drugs and adrenaline too . As you alluded, call the rozzers , don't go and get hurt !!! All the best to Mandy .❤
Putting ground anchors in the floor and the wall plus a good chain like a pragmassis 16mm and a roundlock will do the job
Please send Mandy my best wishes

Thank you for your thoughts, advice, and the other information my friend. It is always appreciated. Take care, stay healthy and I will surely see you on the next one.
You could install a remote controlled lock on the inside of the door which can't be seen from the outside.
Hope the Mrs is well soon Sandy 🤞🏻👍
You’re not paranoid sandy it’s normal I’ve been there a few times ,sending my best for the wife mate .
I wish your wife a speedy recovery. On bike storage/security - I like your idea of removing the motorcycles’ seats. Simple addition to making machines a little less attractive to any potential opportunistic lowlifes loitering about. I’ll be using that one myself. 👍
Cheers Sandy, the bikes are now locked together with the seats removed!
All the best to Mandy. You're lucky to have a cold garage mate, my bike lives outside all year in a cold folding bike tent thing. Every time I open it up the bike is absolutely soaked but twice a year when it's dry and warm I wash it, dry it and ACF50 it and no problem.
No point calling the police these days, Starmer hates criminals being locked up.
Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wishing your wife a speedy recovery
All the best to Mandy. Take care, Sandy.
Firstly Sandy; big love and healing to Mandy ❤ Another great video and thanks for sharing… we were in the woods today Felling Ash dieback and splitting wood! Highly recommend Reolink cameras; we use them in the woods and on our property 👍🏻😀
Hope Mandy gets well soon Sandy. All the best to both of you.
Hi Sandy, regarding seeing intruders on camera, most cameras have an alarm you can sound and a speaker so you can shout! Better than going to see! Or a bright torch and acme football whistle
Thanks Sandy, good luck for the rest of the year, wish Mandy all the best. And going east? come to the Netherlands.
Thanks for your update Sandy I hope Mandy recovers soon🙏. It would be great to have another chat if your free during the week...Cheers K
I'd hold off coming here next week Keri we all have a nasty bug, maybe see you the week after perhaps?
Wishing Mandy a speedy recovery. Some wise words Sandy, always better to call the police than to tackle them yourself, especially as he say, they may be armed. Some good security improvements. Take care, buddy.
Thanks Mark, Yes the police are our best option really
Thank you Sandy, wishing Mandy well.
Thats a Great tip, Thanks for sharing
Prayers for your wife... have you spoken to your local police regarding the person checking your gates ect?..... little things do make a difference...
I'm staying in doors and have just lit the wood burner Malcolm. Not worth riding on two wheels in this weather
@@WiltshireManSounds like a plan buddy. Cuddle with your puppy dogs. Just the job.
Hope Mandy is well again soon.
You can only slow them down until the police arrive, if they do.
Condensation is a pain, remember when all metal parts were stored in grease paper. Similar principal to what you described. Lindsay's Dad Pete had a bunch of old Scammell wheel nuts all wrapped in the grease paper and they were rust free after 40 years in a garage.
all the best for your wife could you afford a Guardsman Garage door / Shed door telescopic barrier system should put them off
Just got to do the best you can under the circumstances. Best wishes to you and yours.
Wishing Mandy all the Very best and a speedy recovery.
All the best to you Sandy mate ♥️🕺🏻🍻
Sandy you can get a device called a sound bomb. They are fairly cheap and unpleasant to be around when they go off.
I have other things here which I didn't show but noise and lots of it is a great deterrent
Great to hear from you Sandy😊 Get well soon Mandy 🙏 I've subbed to volcanic! Thanks for the heads up bro 👍👍
Old VB is a great guy I reckon, I think you will enjoy his videos
A Doberman is always a good start. A very sad state of affairs.
That's what I do. I use a tube heater screwed to a length of decking between wheels and cover bike, works a treat
All the Best Sandy, take care
Thats a good tip Dave, the old scaffold tube is a great deterrent
One of the problems with sensor activeted devices is, insect can trigger them, my and neighbours light keep going on all night long. Hope yours are less sensitive, they are very noisy.
A good thing is 2.put a baby monitor in your garage.
Thanks Stina, they can be tooled up, hopefully my bikes won't be high on their agendas, all old bikes now I suppose

You’re bikes mate , you’re pride and joy!
Wishing your wife a speedy recovery. What a shame one has to spend extra money to protect possessions one has worked hard for.
