Yugi with the Fruit Magician Girl waifus and Atem with the Mecha-armor girl waifus. A mix of magic and machine for the two characters! Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Hello skystrikers player here. The weakness is sometimes it’s hard to setup a good defensive board. Decks like numeron network easily claps sky striker
I've played sky strikers as my first link deck before it was considered "meta" and competitive, I like the playstyle and the deck, and then I started playing evil twins, they're good as fun decks but hardly ever play diamond or platinum because then its mostly just about dodging negates and putting up negates of your own, and I dont want to play like that because it's not fun when I put up a crapton of negates and then watch my opponent surrender -An Odd-Eyes Player
"Before it was considered meta and competitive". Konami knows what the top decks will be before they release them. You're not some hipster that played a deck before it was "considered good" lol. Sky Strikers were designed to be powerful from the beginning. Also, it's kinda lame how you clicked on a Sky Striker video just to comment about how you don't like the deck because of negates. Not sure what you expected from a control deck
About to start playing. I'm new to the game and want a deck I can learn over time that can always be somewhat competitive across metas. Should I build this?
For some strong options, Mathmech is the strongest deck at the moment. Sprights are being released in a few days, and those are going to immediately tier 1 and should be competitive for the foreseeable future. Sky Strikers have been able to compete with the meta for basically all of Master Duel's life so far, so they could also work. However, the best advice I can give you is to make sure you pick an archetype you like and not just what's best in the meta. The biggest part of being competitive across metas is modifying your deck to handle whatever is best at that time i.e. adding in more S/T removal in a backrow (set spells and traps) heavy format or finding ways to fit in strong engines (small sets of cards from archetype that are splashed into other archetypes). Don't play Heroes unless you like getting rocks and lightning wiping your board every game. - Someone who drops rocks and lightning on Heroes every game
Selenne is part of an Accesscode line. Start with any sky striker monster, then normal a monster; make a charmer link 2, then steal a monster from your opponent's graveyard; use the charmer and your opponent's monster to make Selenne; use Selenne to reborn a spellcaster (this is why the deck always runs 3 Effect Veiler so you have a Selenne target); use Selenne and the spellcaster to make Accesscode.
