If you enjoy "Take on Me" you'd probably enjoy A-Ha's entire album "Hunting High and Low." It's pure 80's deliciousness and I like it even more now than I did when it first came out. ;)
One of the subtler things I like about this scene are those half-hearted "rocking out" movements Sebastian does while he's playing. Like that fist pump he did at 2:18 or all those times he nods at the frontman.
Jonas Charif Maybe subtle isn't quite the right word, but it's an element of the scene that isn't as in-your-face as, say, Mia's spastic lip sync performance. Just a few simple nods and fist pumps, really, yet they're pretty damn funny.
-he doesn't... I don't... he doesn't tell me what to do -he just told you what to do -I know, I let him... jajajajajaja I love him! I Love her! I love them!!!!
What's actually shitty about those people in the audition is how they don't give so much recognition to her acting. She is a great actress, but those people in the audition room are so blind to see her.
Question: does anybody know the reason why the character of Ryan Gosling is so pissed when asked to play "I Ran"? I get that he's into jazz and stuff, definitely no popular/simple/shallow music, but is there any specific reason why he later in the film takes the request to play THAT song almost as an offense? Is it like too easy to play with his instruments?
If you look at/listen to his specific part of the ensemble, he's playing a ridiculously plain and simple part. One chord every four beats, really simple, really boring. People who are 'stuck up' like his character would consider it an insult to give him such an easy part to play, even if the song is great to listen to.
It's So Nostalgic 😎 👍 I Know This Original Version "a~ha"😁 At This Time, This Movie Is Broadcasting On "BS Shochiku Tokyu " Now 😁 BS Shochiku Tokyu Is The One Of Japanese BS Channels 🙆 Thanks To Upload 😃 Thank You So Much 🙇
You know what..i watched this movie coz I needed to make a judgement on whether it was any good and was expecting it to be crap....i actually loved it.
Some people don't like this movie, some do. I do. Because I love the craft of filmmaking. And I believe in the magic of movies. And this is what happens here. And it is brilliant.
La Land almost won this years Oscar for the best film until the most prestigious award of the grand event was won by Moonlight. What a huge goof up done by Comedian & Anchor of the Oscar's event Jimmy Kimmel.
Actually these songs are classics. Not trying to be something else. The Gossling in the back ground walking when he is supposed to be playing observation is also classic.
This scene is awesome. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are very funny, but i also like the lead singer, haha (ah! i just found out his name is D. A. Wallach ^^)
The shirtless guy to Emma's left, starting with 1:19, is so hot that I focused on him more than what was actually going on in the scene. Odd reaction to an extra.
I love this scene, but i think about somethink... Try to imagine, if insdead of Ryan Gosling here would be Frank (from movie Frank with Michael Fassbender). Now I can not stop thinking about it
I need that band for my wedding.
RonHoward Their band name is Guys Just Wanna Have Fun
You can hire the band for 7 million dollars per hour or just 150 dollars per hour without Ryan.
I need Emma Stone for mine
I need Emma Stone, for, like anything, ever...
RonHoward Same
Emma Stone reliving every bogus audition she's had to go through.
no jamal
y o u be tr ippin
Literally my favorite part of the movie. :)
Omori
Arya Beltaine
LMAO
when I saw ur comment
the video is at that part
She looked like she was trying so hard not to laugh
thanks I like them
"no Jamal you be trippin"😂
little bean i have a question..! Is that line having some meanings? I dont know why r u guys like that line...!
I'm curious about that too! Maybe it's an English thing? o.o
Magrat Knoblauch No lol. We just find it funny lol.
Black Manta Okay ^^
Jamal’s a black name and that’s usually how black people talk around here.
"No, Jamal. You be trippin."
The theatre lost it.
Waaat!
Luxury Brown it’s not the line it’s the execution that Emma delivered that line
No u.
@Luxury Brown It's supposed to be a satire on today's nature of "comedy" on Hollywood and how they keep making offensive jokes just for cheap laughs.
@Luxury Brown you smell like hotdog water
Clever dialogue:
"He doesn't tell me what to do"
"He just told you what to do"
"I let him"
Now I'm listening to "Take on me" all time lmao
If you enjoy "Take on Me" you'd probably enjoy A-Ha's entire album "Hunting High and Low." It's pure 80's deliciousness and I like it even more now than I did when it first came out. ;)
This scene is basically a "Hey 80's, we didn't forget that you happened too!"
no its more to signal that 80s are back (because since the PC came out weve been in one big electronic digital age
Check out Eleventyseven's cover of it. Super good stuff.
IN A DAY OR TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
One of the subtler things I like about this scene are those half-hearted "rocking out" movements Sebastian does while he's playing. Like that fist pump he did at 2:18 or all those times he nods at the frontman.
I don't think it's that "subtle". It's pretty obvious that he's faking excitement. Still very well acted.
Jonas Charif Maybe subtle isn't quite the right word, but it's an element of the scene that isn't as in-your-face as, say, Mia's spastic lip sync performance. Just a few simple nods and fist pumps, really, yet they're pretty damn funny.
MarsellusWallace t
That perfunctory fist pump was my favorite part, slightly better than all the nods...
I love the way Ryan loathes what he's doing while playing 'I Ran', but still acts like he cares when the singer looks at him. Lol.
Really funny!
The singer is like "hey, pay attention to the song". Well, that's my impression 😬
0:32 Whats the point of diving into the pool and getting out right after?
henry b12 you should understand she is a hot woman who needs to be cooled down a bit.
henry b12 ikr
henry b12 why walk all the way around the pool if you can just swim through it
For the same reason she's wearing a bikini when a wet suit would do. FOR THE EFFECT! N'DUH!
Could be a reference to "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", with the red bikini and the 80s party setting.
I love how he doesnt want to play I ran and subtly shakes his head in denying at that scene. i cant help but chuckle everytime i see this
The way he says barista
Greta Lozano that's how I would say it normally 😂
There's nothing sexier than a woman so full of confidence
Same goes for men
defne cet Yalancı, milleti kandırma :')
ama öyle
defne cet Hiçte bile, iki hafta önce bi kızın yanına gidip ondan hoşlandığımı söyledim ama olmadı yani
TheAlistairDick I don't know, maybe a naked woman?
just love this part 😊
Sudhanshu Prakash I thought your favorite part was getting out of the Matrix?
OMG I cant stop watching Emma while they are playing I Ran!
I swear this is movie magic. This whole movie is just awesome. I love this particular scene.
1:58 Just look how cute Emma smiles when she request "I ran".
The banter and chemistry of the two after her request is great. THAT. Is nice screenplay. I lol'd
a subtle part of this scene is emma's look of disgust @1:17 when she realizes sebastian is in this band wasting his time.
only Ryan Gosling can still be HOT using those kind of clothes
I love how you fastforwarded the guy in which you reference the way she just ditches him for Sebastian
ohh please make me unsee this one. SO ADORABLE.
2:45 that smile tho 😂😂😂
this masterpiece did not deserve the backlash it got😭😭😭
That raised eyebrow after "you be trippin"
I've loved Emma Stone since Easy A. She is really good at playing those adorkable easygoing roles.
-he doesn't... I don't... he doesn't tell me what to do
-he just told you what to do
-I know, I let him...
jajajajajaja I love him! I Love her! I love them!!!!
Can we just all agree that this is the best scene of the movie?
The funny thing is that Emma is good at all those parts in the beginning 😂
Best contemporary screen pair by miles.
When it sped up up I'm just like what the fuck
Both amazing, both hilarious.
every time I see her dancing I remember the scene with the dog from easy a.....she is a natural
2:45 That smile!
Tom O million dollar smile
What's actually shitty about those people in the audition is how they don't give so much recognition to her acting. She is a great actress, but those people in the audition room are so blind to see her.
This movie is actually so good
Watching this clip alone with no other context makes me wonder how the holy fuck this movie won so many awards.
emma won an oscar for this
I really love her and her facial expressions ❤❤
Oh God. I love this movie. Emma is the beeeest ❤️

Is it like too easy to play with his instruments?
Shinden89 I wondered that. I figured it was just because it made him feel guilty. No worse than any other pop song.
If you look at/listen to his specific part of the ensemble, he's playing a ridiculously plain and simple part. One chord every four beats, really simple, really boring. People who are 'stuck up' like his character would consider it an insult to give him such an easy part to play, even if the song is great to listen to.
Thanks @Naomi Sheridan!
because the Piano part is outrageously easy and small.
I'm not Sure, but doesn't he explain this later on in the scene?
2:35 If this weren't a movie but real life, people would flee from that crazy woman who headbanged to such a song :D

What a huge goof up done by Comedian & Anchor of the Oscar's event Jimmy Kimmel.

"I guess i ll see you in the movies"
He hs ever been so accurate xD

They should have hired Jeffster.

The scene that won her the Oscar
The guy who chose the songs for this scene played too much GTA San Andreas
This is better than any of his other music
Its so cool, they played in many movies together.
Nobody notices but Ryan Gosling in this scene acts awesome..look at the way he acts frustrated, not want to play I ran still he plays..

Emma Stone is such a likeable woman, it must be her eyes.

i‘d love to see it, but this masterpiece shouldn‘t be destoyed by a bad sequel. it‘s a great stand alone film
The way it started sounded like Ducktales.

This scene is awesome. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are very funny, but i also like the lead singer, haha (ah! i just found out his name is D. A. Wallach ^^)
