I started to watch 1899 then found out it was cancelled so didn't bother watching the rest, gave up on The Silent Sea too, really enjoyed Lost in Space
Netflix makes such terrible decisions about which shows to keep that I really lost my faith in it. The cancelled 1899 and The OA which was my 2 favourite shows of the last years… They could have reached Lost and Dark peakness if they let them unfold.
@@rahbeeuhI have no idea… maybe their research shows that it is a more profitable strategy to make constantly new shows and not give money to a selection of a shows for more seasons that have a potential but is not a sure thing.
@@TheGunslinger019 y'might be onto sum'n. I'm not sure why but it'd help if they shared their numbers publicly like cable TV shows do. Otherwise it's kinda shady or at least to me
The Brits are very good at making compelling TV series that are just 6-8 episodes long, unlike US series which are mostly 12-24 episodes. Quality always far more important than quantity.
Altered Carbon was brilliant. I only watched the first season and didn't bother with the second season because of character changes and I wasn't interested after that. Highly recommended.
I don't want to invest my limited viewing time on series that have been cancelled, no matter how good. it's frustrating for a captivating series to reach no satisfactory conclusion.
Here's what writers should do before they pitch their ideas to Netflix: have a plan. At least outline how many seasons your show needs to tell the story (don't know? Give a ballpark) have an alternative plan in case anything goes left. The show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was on the CW for 4 seasons and the showrunners had a plan. Some things went left but they altered some of their plans. They adjusted. More shows in preproduction need to have a sustainable plan.
I have 1899 on my list to watch, then I read that it was cancelled. Now I just can’t watch it. Sense 8 was amazing. I remember I signed for the OA not to be cancelled, but it did. Sad😢
The problem with Netflix is they cancelling a very good series like Altered Carbon or 1899 after few seasons or just one because they saying the series are too expensive to make.
Travelers was excellent. Supercell, just too much hate and negativity from the cast/script. Sense8 was way ahead of its time. I really liked the OA, I swear I didn't cry at the end. Bodies was great, you had to pay attention. Lost in Space, I skipped it but I'll check it out again. Loved the original, and waited every week. Better Than Us, has excellent acting and is wonderful. The dubbing was just ok. The first season of Altered Carbon was awesome, but they dumped Joel Kinnaman and it went to crap after that. Kinnaman made the series.
"Supercell, just too much hate and negativity from the cast/script" I feel that, couldn't finish it. I feel like they went over the top to cater to their target audience. I agree that Altered Carbon had some potential too.
Hidden might be the wrong adjective. I know of all of these series even if I've not watched all of them. I will likely watch all of them eventually. Having said that I think you did a good job of pulling up some of the lesser known sci-fi series. I had completely forgotten about 1899 and the second season of Altered Carbon so might do those first.
Just finished Silent Sea. Really good. Sense 8 and OA got a short shrift from Netflix, they are brilliant. Lost in Space wss really entertaining. Pick up some on other streamers...Silo, Fallout, 3Body problem.
I hate to be that person, but “5 black individuals?” Why did you put their color in? Sincerely curious. I waited til the end of that part of your video to see if their race was important to the plot or something, but apparently it isn’t. 🤔
Why did the producers only use black actors? If there was a diversity of actors, you would put a diversity of actors. Is that bad? The main characters are five black actors.
The characters being Black is very relevant to the plot. No need to be that person. Someone mentioning Black individuals (which let me know this was an AI narrator, if I wasn't already sure) in this type of situation shouldn't make anyone uncomfortable or curious as to why. It's usually relevant or at least to give Black people positive recognition for a change. Their use of "individuals" instead of "people" was more alarming imo 😅
Altered Carbon was fantastic, but they dumped Joel Kinnaman and he was the series. And to replace a white guy with a black guy who is supposed to be the same person is just stupid. Travelers was great, I was one of those followers, but they ended it in an 'okay' way. We got ripped off with only two seasons of Sense8. Supacell was too much hate and negativity.
@@densnow4816 I've read that it was because of the storyline. He was replaced because he was different from someone else in season one. I hope that makes sense to you. I still won't watch season two. He made the series.
The reason they should stop making them is because they're expensive. Netflix isn't willing to keep spending money on them if the shows don't match some arbitrary goalpost they set out on viewership
Most of these I've seen and most of these abruptly stopped without a true ending. I'm so tired of getting involved in a multseanonal series to later find out they canceled it. I thought the really interesting part of Westworld would be how the androids interacted with humans and all the great moral issues that would have come to fruition but nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, that's when they canceled it. I'm still pissed of how they cancelled "The Borgias" , "Penny Dreadful" and " Raised by Wolves". The need to stop this bullshit and not put up series unless they have an ending. Now, I don't watch series unless it has a limite series with and ending or I just wait until the series ends before watching. I didn't watch "Breaking Bad" until it was completely ended and so glad I did. It's my favorite series on TV.

Yeah, 1899 was amazing. They seem to always cancel great shows.
I ended the Netflix subscription after 12 years because they keep doing this.
Exactly
Ah. The classic story of Expensive high production shows meets niche audiences. I had my first taste in Dirk Gently’s holistic detective agency.
better than it running and becoming shit, like Lost, or Manifest. End it while on top.

lost in space
the best of all
Exactly! I want to re watch it so many times
Such a killer list of movies! Makes me think of CronoRevolution, which has that same epic dystopian feel but in book form! 🎬🚀
1899 really good. no season 2 unfortunately
Great list. Thanks. I would add: Sweet Home and All of us are dead
Why the bombastic, alpha-male passive-aggressive narration?

"to the lake", a suggestion to your list. A russian production
(2019)
One of my favorites! I would love to have seen more seasons of that one…

To the Lake was fantastic. I heard there is a season 2 but I just can't find it.
I enjoyed Travelers.
It was such a good show which seems to be a surefire sign Netflix will cancel it. 😢
They cancelled Marco Polo in the beginning. One of the verry best adventure series.
Cancellations are the reason why I don't invest fine watching series even though they might be great. Do any of these end properly?

Better than Us is a Russian version of the UK series Humans which is a must watch
You missed "Omnicient" - from Brazil.
So so good.

If it's still airing I'll check it out

That piqued my curiosity as well. Is there a legit reason or is that detail just a misdirection..

Netflix and cancelling shows!!🤦🏽♂

Altered Carbon, amazing first season, very lackluster 2nd. Not unlike Westworld.
Umbrella Academy???
Are there any white people in England in Supacell?

AI generated content read by a speech bot

Funny these are all canceled shows why would I want to watch something That's been canceled... woke
Why are people afraid to narrate with their own videos? AI sucks and makes not want to return
Why bother watch those series, if they were canceled after 2 or 3 seasons ???

Avoid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do NOT watch 1899. While it seems like it’s going to be promising, it becomes agonizingly stupid with an awful ending.

The OA was terrible.
Sense8 is woke propaganda.
Don't watch.
