@@bookclub5291 The thing I like about it, as I read it complete on my channel, is how it seems to repeat itself. There's how many "genesis/creation" stories in Cantos 1-4? But, not really. The first story starts off huge with Lord Vishnu, the second time we hear it it gets more detailed, then the next time more down to humans, like a zoom lense that goes deeper and deeper. When I realized that I saw how great it was. The other cool thing is how each Canto has its own mood, like Canto 4 is the book of passion. Everything is out of passion, passion for living, truth, god, etc.
It was clearly said in this Srimadbhagavatham itself that, no one should jump to the 10th canto but should read all one by one from 1st to 9th cantos, as these 9 cantos are the introductory part for the 10th canto. Also, In this 30 Vol Set, there are only 10 cantos present and there is no 11th & 12th available as Prabhupada translated 10 cantos only and if you get 11th and 12th then definitely they are adulterated.

At some point writing these Prahbupada passed I think after he finished the 9th canto and then some devotee finished. The same guy who changed a bunch of stuff in the Bhagavad Gita. These days you can only get Prahbupadas original books with no changes from Krishna books Inc. They only sell the pre 1978 volumes.
I have read all of the abridged version, but none of Prabhupadas translation and commentary. Maybe I’ll read it live on the channel one day. Who knows. 😀🙏

I am aware of the podcast and have listened to a few of their episodes. it was actually one of the hosts Raghunath Cappo that suggested Radhanath Swami's Autobiography of the Joe Rogan Podcast that first got me more deeply into Bhakti yoga. The I read his second book the journey within and went in even more deeply. If you have not read these books by Radhanath Swami, I highly recommend them!🙏

A book I recommend reading also would be ' Krishna the lord of love' by baba Premananda Bharati. He has given a great take on the Bhagavata Purana and Hinduism in general. He was the first Krishna devotee to land in America in the early 1900s.
Hi. Krishna has 1000 names. There's a stotra - Vishnu Sahastranam. Literally translate as Vishnu (the main form of krishna) thousand names. Do let us know how are the books. From what I've heard iscon is very biased. They have beautiful temples and all stuff great but they force to worship just one particular form of krishna alone. Their books also might show that trait. But I don't know for real I've heard this from many people. I've not been to their temple or read any of their books.
Krishna is the source(god)...krishna dosent take forms..that job is for vishnu.. who comes under krishna..krishna just stays in vaikunta..there are 2 types of vishnu..kserodaka and garbodaka..ksherodaka is the one who floats on the ocean of milk..there is only one kserodaka vishnu...garbodaka is the vishnu that is present in every universe..our universe has one garbodaka vishnu.. he is the one who created it..ksherodaka takes avatars while garbodaka maintains it..1 ksherodaka...unlimited garbodakas..each universe has a bhrama..under bhrama are the demi gods(who people worship for material pleaseure)..I want to pass in exam..I want money job..yeah you get the point..iskcon doesn't force people to worship Krishna's one form..because krishna has no form..he is the ultimate form..in all of the avatara vishnu takes a form..but the 9th avatara ie krishna avatara is god himself descending to earth...there is no need to worship all other forms when you are worshiping the source of all forms...rama was king who was god...narashimha was a half lion half man...but krishna is krishna..its not a form

It was clearly said in this Srimadbhagavatham itself that, no one should jump to the 10th canto but should read all one by one from 1st to 9th cantos, as these 9 cantos are the introductory part for the 10th canto.
Also,
In this 30 Vol Set, there are only 10 cantos present and there is no 11th & 12th available as Prabhupada translated 10 cantos only and if you get 11th and 12th then definitely they are adulterated.
