Worth mentioning that this is a mash-up of Gloucester's speeches from Richard III (I.i) and Henry VI Part 3 (II.i, III.ii, V.vi, and possibly others?). (I didn't know that by heart, but I do Gloucester's opening speech by heart, so looked up some of the differing parts).
Cut the mentions of his being ". . . deformed, unfinished . . " because of the controversy of casting an abled actor and so she didn't need to play deformed. Btw, Olivier brought in lines from Richard's appearances in previous plays.
1:25 When Richard deplores being reduced to seeing his shadow in the sun, a great actor would never point to the sun while reciting those lines. It makes no sense.
I remember watching Michelle Terry as Hamlet in the Shakespeare's Globe video production of that play. Awesome! So glad she is taking her turn as Richard III. Riveting, wry delivery!
Doesn’t work for me. Don’t get the re-writing of Shakespeare in this case. Yes, she is a great actress but in my mind she should have stuck to the script or got someone more clever to mingle with it. This is too simple.

What a stunning performance by Michelle Terry! She is so incredibly talented, each show is a work of art.
I got distracted by all the punches on “our.” It didn’t make sense. I didn’t think “bad actor,” but I did think “bad choices.”
it's contrasting all thr "ours" in the first half of the speech to all of the "I"s in the second half I suppose.
They cut out all the mentioning of Richard’s deformity from this speech. Why?
@@davidworobec1673 cause it' not democratically correct..
It is the job of the director to translate the play according to their own vision, emphasizing what speaks to their time and idea.

Please, no!

Not Mark Rylance.
I think she's a great actress!
Absolutely spell binding.
Looks like Worzel Gummidge. Why cut and paste sections of speeches?
Fantastic rendition
no
Who is the actor? Seems worth mentioning..
Michelle Terry! She's wonderful :)
Terry has been artistic director at the Shakespeare's Globe for a few years now.

Bad amateurish Richard. Hardly a threat to anyone.
i saw this twice on my vacation, amazing performance, made you love, hate and then love to hate him! (the character i mean lol)
Nope .....doesnt capture the menace.
Shakespeare is rather an incomprehensible old windbag, isn't he . From michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
This sucks.
