@@deniseabu-arab1393 I think that's my breed, Nigerian dwarf. It was adapted from pygmy stock in the 1960s. For some reason many older breeds discouraged blue eyes. But the newer breeds that come from Nigerian dwarf, like mini Nubian have blue eyes and those crazy colors too.

This was one of the most nail biting kid births I’ve seen in a long time!! I was not breathing watching Crystal juggling inside Cami’s uterus and not be able to pull out the last baby!! 😭 I really hope Cami will recover fully from this difficult labour to 4 beautiful babies! I feel so bad for the goat, I remember what it felt like when the nurse checked to see how far I was dilated I swear it felt like she had her arm all the way up to her elbow.

It’s so important to share births like this! Tough pulls are intense and so important to keep a calm head on your shoulders. You did great! It’s so tough to “see with your hands” sometimes when they get bent up like she was in there.
I agree. I've watched several other goat channels that call themselves "learning channels" but the second that a birthing becomes difficult, they pull the camera and cut the sound off. They don't show disbudding or castration. People who are trying to learn how to be a good goat owner or whether or not they could handle all that comes with raising goats NEED to see the good the bad and the ugly that goes on. I'm so thankful they don't sugar coat what it's like to raise goats. Blue Cactus Dairy Goats is truly a learning channel. I can't have goats where I live but I'm dang prepared if the day should ever come, that I could have some. At least in my mind, I'm prepared. :-)
@@harleyjane3987 the reason for censoring isn't because they want to, it's because of TH-cam's algorithm. If your channel is popular enough, they'll demonitize you and sometimes block your video for showing anything such as births, or mating etc. Sheepishly me runs into this constantly on her channel to the point she doesn't show breeding or even shearing! It's very disheartening to our so much effort into a video just to have it blocked or demonitized for showing what happens in nature. I feel bad for them, and we miss out too!

Tell Emily to take all the science classes she can and take all her basic classes at a Jr College. Study large animal Anatomy and Physiology on her own starting now. She will want to be a large animal vet to work with livestock. There's a new vet school open in Texas. I believe it is near Lubbock.
Heading to the comment about universities in Texas I think the Dairy goat program over there is so exciting at A&M. They turned out a good vet Dr Jake Davis who really helped me get started with goats in this difficult climate in Southeast Texas. I've talked with his professor before to troubleshoot my herd, and they ran parasite testing for me herd wide so that we could get it sorted out. Those barber pole worms caused a lot of losses for us.

What traumatic deliveries. I think Cami has earned the right to retirement from birthing. Crystal you kept your cool and Cami trusted you. I found myself holding my breath and getting all tensed up, I could never work in a delivery room. The babies are beautiful, sad the only male has an overbite, but he is cute.
Cami is way too young to retire. It is bad for the health of the goat. Lacy is retired due to age and the anal prolapse. Crystal is afraid she would pass during another kidding. Cami is just chock full of kids. She gets it from the Dawn line.

I can’t get over how well Cami during that. Her udder is large an beautiful! Crystal you are AMAZING… like always! When the buck came out alive an the kids said good job mom I lost it 🥲 I was shaking like a leaf during the buck birth! At least cami went out with 3 Does, that’s awesome!!! All 4 of Camis babies are gorgeous. I think they are my favorite for this year. Her does are really pretty! I hope you keep one of them!

I can’t get over how well Cami during that. Her udder is large an beautiful! Crystal you are AMAZING… like always! When the buck came out alive an the kids said good job mom I lost it 🥲 I was shaking like a leaf during the buck birth! At least cami went out with 3 Does, that’s awesome!!! All 4 of Camis babies are gorgeous. I think they are my favorite for this year. Her does are really pretty! I hope you keep one of them!
