Fyi, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO.
I'm glad I found this on my third try a finding a good video to explain how the system works. I'm a pretty good handyman and I the video tells you what you need to know and the information is accurate.

Josh could you elaborate on this,
    1. How is pressure tank size determined?
    2. You also forgot to mention the pre filling with air and how much air goes in the pressure tank?
You could drop this knowledge when the next video for this project comes up.
Awesome job of explaining this entire well and setup. I mean EXCELLENT

I’ve always installed a check valve before the tank. To keep the water from the pressure tank from flowing back down the well it’s a vital component to keep the pump from over working and to keep the pump from causing water hammer effect, you may have installed one closer to the well head I’m not sure but I noticed it wasn’t installed at the pressure tank it’s code here to have it just before the pressure switch.
    Thanks for another great video.

How would you put a frost free spigot out near the well head if you have a check valve at the pressure tank? There would be no pressure at the spigot

@@BaronKen in my area we install the tank at the well within a well house and we install a hose bib there but if you do have a frost free at the well and the tank under the house you can put the check valve after the pit less adapter and then the frost free.

Fantastic! This video will give you the right direction for a common pressure tank setup. I have not installed two tanks on the same system. Good to know that is an option. Thanks!

Nice video. I was hoping to see the water come in and pressurize as you stated and maybe play with it to a 70-50 adjustment. Also, you called the tank a 20g....but I've discovered that it does not hold nearly that in water volume. Soooo, I want to go to a bigger tank so that my well pump does not come on as often... Tks

Love the video. On another note, I was surprised to see the missing electrical disconnect at the well tank as well as a water shut off. Is that not required in your area? Yes I am am electrician. Thanks so much for the lesson!

Question do you have to use the rubber hose and connectors in your video because the water line coming out of the ground on mine is pvc and not flexible hose???

Good video but why didn't you explain the bladder air pressure setting and Schrader valve on the tank? I know on a new tank they are probably preset but eventually it might need an adjustment.

Great video, but one silly question : what about maintence, should you check your bladder pressure from time to time making sure it's at the 30 psi ?
The Well guys just stick em in, collect their check and run off to the next job. But no one has ever informed me what to look out for. 😮

I’d like to know more about this. I’ve got an old well and bladder under the house but the last owner let it go when city water come through. I’d love to run my water hoses off of it and back up water.

Pretty informative video, although as others have mentioned, several things were not addressed. I am really surprised that the pressure tank is sitting so low rather than sitting on a pedestal. Is there even room to get a hose on that bibb? My pressure tank is elevated about 8" above the floor. I would actually prefer that it were up another foot.

I want an emergency water tank connected to city water that is continuously filled and discharged to my house plumbing. I don't see a video for that here and this well pump doesn't apply to me cuz I'm on city water.
