Thank you pastor for the message. I used to live in Santa Barbara years ago and I loved the area. It’s about time to replace those poor hard pews in your sanctuary.

Today is June 12, 2023. Today is the transferred date of June 11 of The Festival of St. Barnabas, Apostle. And on this Festival Day, let us pray for physical rehabilitation centers and to trust in the Holy Spirit. See also Acts 13:1-3.

Yess!! To first being called Christians. ESP in these days as there tend to be divisive arguments in the faith. I am a Christian first, I go to this Church.. but I am a Christian.

Why did Barnabas go to Tarsus to get Saul? Could it be that Barnabas wanted to show Saul the work of God as an example for him? Perhaps this was to teach Saul, to let him see the organic nature of the Church of Antioch. I believe Antioch taught Saul. You will notice that from this point on Saul's attitude in ministry begins to change and he would take that on his journeys.

Why does Paul use the occasion of Acts 23:6 to confirm "I AM a Pharisee" and not "I am a Christian." He didn't say I was a Pharisee or I used to be a Pharisee. And he doesn't say I am a Christian---EVER. He says again in Acts 24:14 that he was in a sect of Judaism and that he observed the traditions of the fathers. When Agrippa says "You almost convince me to be a Christian" Paul DOES NOT say "Yes, become a Christian" and then lead him in that inane "sinner's prayer" that NOBODY ever said in the whole of scripture. And ZERO letters were written "To the Christians at...." And finally, how come the New Jerusalem has NO gate labeled "Christian" but does have 12 gates labeled for the 12 Jewish tribes?

I thought Hellenists were Jews that had embraced the Greek culture. That’s what was said back in chapter 6 when Stephen and the others were chosen to aid the widows of the Hellenists. I’m confused as to how they’re gentiles here.

Are Hellenist Jews? In chapter 6 John McArthur says Hellenist are Greek speaking jews. In chapter 11 he says they are non-Jews. I believe you have done the same thing. I think i am missing something.

Why does acts called Barnabas good when the Bible says None are good?

It also says Joseph of Arimatia as good too in Luke 23:50; Mat 12:35. When the author tell them as good its because he's comparing with other humans standards . But no one is good comparing with God's standard to earn eternal life.
