Erin those stockings are gorgeous!!!! What a huge accomplishment in stitching all three. I hope you have an amazing holiday and safe travels. Here's to whatever 2020 has in store.
Your stockings are beautiful! I stitched the one you stitched for Rebekah for my husband and another Dimension stocking for myself with a sled and cardinals on it. I love them both, which inspired my daughter to stitch stockings for her 3 kids and one for her husband. The stockings sucked her into the cross stitch world and she is now a beautiful stitcher. Thanks for sharing and happy stitching!
Your stocking stories were SO entertaining !! I have given birth samplers to several nieces and nephews. My five kids have zero!! I should have started therapy jars a long time ago. My youngest is 20 by the way. Every one of your stockings is stunning ! So beautiful !!
If it makes you feel any better, I stitched a stocking for my daughter. When her brother came along, I started a stocking for him. It's about 5% of the way done. He recently turned 19. And kiddo, number 3, at age 17, doesn't even have one started (though I do have a kit somewhere for him). And if that's not bad enough--I made my daughter a baby quilt. The boys--nope. Yep, I suck.
As a middle child, I stand in solidarity with Abigail. But you are nicer than we are. We tell our kids that their childhood has given them plenty to talk about with their therapist. But we aren't putting any money in a jar. We had our Christmas today for various reasons (son is getting married the Saturday after Christmas) and with the kids being 28 and 20, we consider ourselves darn lucky we have had them to ourselves for so long. Have a safe and merry trip!
I started on Strawberry Fields; I say it’s a giant vase! Never heard of disk binding! Mississippi celebrates Arbor Day the second Friday in February! Merry Christmas!
Poor Abigail...i feel her pain, i am a middle child too...however i probably made sure i wasnt left out of anything...ever (LOL, can u tell) at least you got it done :) ❤️❤️❤️ best story of the week !!! Thank you SO MUCH for explaining our SAL...you explained perfectly ❤️. Omg if cheryl watches this episode of your floss...or even Cole...they will be GIDDY over the planner organization you showed!
I stitch in hand 90% of the time. I use qsnaps for those few projects on Aida that is super stiff or scratchy (which makes it uncomfortable to hold). I also use one for HP Book Covers to help wrangle all the fabric.
Hello...your stockings are so adorable...the story to go with them...priceless...poor Abbey🥺...love how you bound Jen’s journal...and best wishes for your family’s trip...be safe...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family❤️
40 years ago I made Crewel stitch stockings for my children. I wasn't good at finishing z asked recently if I could have them back so I could freshen them up. All thre3 refused telling me that they would never see them again. I think I finished my elder daughters before sh went to college lol!!. This is the first time I have caught your show. I have mixed feelings about it Sorry I missed any of them but happy to watch now. Great show!! I'll be back....I loved the planner too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.I don't have a flosstubes but I call myself The Upside Down Stitcher. Great first impression .
Oh my gosh... those stockings are gorgeous!!! I am jumping in on the planner.... I have a few planners going right now.. but love the layout that Jen has set up for this one! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Went and finished my food shop today. I do not want to be in stores this weekend. I will give the house a quick spit and polish and hope to the gods I can cook/bake up a good supper for christmas eve dinner. I have lost my cooking juju for the past 2 or 3 months for some reason. Made butter cookies and hubby asked if we would be throwing them at each other. LOL too funny. Needless to say goodies have be bought too. Hoping my juju comes back in the new year. The girls Christmas stockings are beautiful. Well done. Happy stitching
I'm sorry you've been ill. Hope you continue to improve daily. Love the stockings! I really am hoping Satsuma Street comes out with more stocking patterns to go with the 2 she released this year so that there's enough to stitch for us. Love the planner! I have way way way cannablized the Bullet Journal system to work for me. I'm having to figure out how to make some of the printables work with that though. Happy holidays to you and yours!
should I tell you I stitched all 3 of my grand daughters stockings over 1 year......but I get that sometimes stitching them can be a slog. I made my Erin's stocking and my then sister in law wanted the same one and that one took almost 3 years. I still need to make one for Mark and he just doesn't care if I do or not....Happy christmasween/ Merry Hallowmas my friend.....I haven't stitched since the beginning of the month....junk journal rabbit hole
Did you know you had a needle in the sweater of your left arm for most of the video lol!!! I'm doing School of Magical Stitches in 2020 and I hope I pick it up quickly cuz I'm really nervous about it. I hope you have a happy holiday and have fun on your vacation!
Lovely stockings. All I can say is I was a middle child for a short time older bro younger sis. Then I became the oldest and mom decided to have 3 more lol. I’ll take the middle thank you. Have a wonderful And peaceful Christmas! So glad you r feeling better!
I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well! And funny....my first two children are 14 months apart. ;) I have been looking at that Strawberry Fields. Can't wait to see you start that one! I'm making plans for 2020 and plan on starting at least 3 new things including a temperature tracking piece that will take all year. There may be another start depending on what Santa brings (I showed hubby how to access my 123 stitch wish list and how you can add everything you need to the cart....I may have been really talking up the Anne Thomas sampler and how much it would be to do in silks.....eeeeeek). Since I only have one WIP right now, we'll see how it goes. Merry Christmas to you and your family! "See" you next year!
Your stockings are beautiful! I’ve never done one. :) I ordered the suffragette pattern but 2 of the flosses are out of stock. :( I contacted Classic Colorworks directly and there’s no time line for restock. However, I’m going to start the SAL anyway. Happy Holidays to you and your family and safe travels.
Gorgeous stockings! My sister finished her second daughter’s stocking just before she turned 30, so you did well! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Your stockings are beautiful and that's a great story. I'm curious, did you perhaps have a needle stuck in your sweater sleeve, left arm? It looked like something was reflecting light. :) Have a merry Christmas!
Too late...sisterly just called on her way home from Acorns (SECOND TIME SHES GONE THIS WEEK AND I HAD TO NAG HER TO GO BEFORE THIS!!) now shes on the need to make herself a pretty planner 😂😂😂😂😂
Omg, so I’m watching this during my lunch break, and your story about telling Abby that you were working on #3’s stocking had me holding on hysterical laughter so my coworkers wouldn’t think I’d finally snapped. Lol!! Poor kid. Those stockings are stunning though! Can’t wait for your WIP parade!! Also, I think I’m going to do And A Forest Grew with you guys! It’s sooo pretty! Is there a hashtag?
Love the Santa stocking for Rebekah, now I want to do one for my great nephew. You mentioned getting a pattern off of stash offload. Where do you find out about them?
Question. Do your stockings seem to be really narrow and you can't fit stuff in? I stitched my kiddo a Dimensions stocking 7 years ago and it just seems small, and I just did a flip finish like yours. Thanks!
I’ve been wanting to do stitch from stash from I can’t find the info on how it works even on the Facebook group. Do you know if there is somewhere I can go to get the specifics?
I don't have it anymore 😢 That was back in the day that I didn't know any better and I highlighted the chart all up - it was falling apart by the time I finished.
There is a Dimensions to DMC chart available online for those conversions you need to make. www.cyberstitchers.com/stitching_tools/floss_conversion_charts/dimensions_to_dmc Love your videos and WIP parades rock!!! When using a Happy Planner on discs, don't hesitate to take out 6 months (July to Dec 2020) and have more room to flip pages on the discs. you then add months as you need to. You can add a forward planning section to plan for pages not included currently in your book. Just an idea for keeping the planner super usable.

This is the best lady on Flosstube

It took me 22 years to make my Godson a baby quilt. He better love it!
Do you stitch in hand or use a hoop?
I stitch in hand 90% of the time. I use qsnaps for those few projects on Aida that is super stiff or scratchy (which makes it uncomfortable to hold). I also use one for HP Book Covers to help wrangle all the fabric.
Beautiful stockings! Great story too!

I think what you think is a large 2 story vase is really a hill/hills for the tree. LOL

We don’t do a lot of gifts either. I’m so behind this year but we are not traveling.

Check the files section of the FB groups - there are a couple of documents in there that explain everything in detail :)
Do you by chance still have the pattern you used for Abby's stocking? I've been dying to find it and would so buy it off you
I don't have it anymore 😢 That was back in the day that I didn't know any better and I highlighted the chart all up - it was falling apart by the time I finished.

Great video. I swear you have a needle stuck in the cuff of your sweater.
Still great video even though you aren't feeling well
