I had possibly a similar injury in college playing softball on a slick surface. My foot seemed to bend a bit longways on itself and I hurt a very distint pop. It was almost like a loud snapping sound. Diagnosis was a tear in a ligament connecting the metatarsals. It was very painful to walk for a week or so but after that it got consistently better. To me, even mild, "stable" lisfranc injuries need to be managed with extreme caution simply because the blood supply to the area is poor....similar to say an unrecognized scaphoid inj. Yeah, usually the athlete can power thru it for a while but eventually there is a failure to heal and thus you end up with significant complications (instability, foot ABD and pes planus) and fixation/fusion surgery to resolve.

The same thing happened to LaMelo Ball so would this scenario be the same the game against the Pistons vs Charlotte LaMelo had a non-contact injury he planted his right foot down and you can slightly see his foot/ankle on the side of the MB.01. People say his shoes are letting him down but I hooped in the MB 1's & 2's and have had no problems with them so I think it's the way the move or the way the foot is planted (just a personal opinion).
