      @@NorthForkHollow if you are semi familiar with engines than put a couple degrees of base timing (physically rotating the distributor opposite the way it spins), it WILL run a bit better.

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Trobertsdsgmach1 Yup, that may work. I haven't done it because I done have a timing light anymore. I'll have to keep an eye out for one at a yard sale or something.

    For wat it is I see u took off winter bladed they are lined against icing .
    I use these on my applications. U put on plain Jane junk blades. Ur going to fight with those to keep from freezing .

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I realize. But the regular blade were much, much cheaper. I don't usually plow when it is snow. I usually wait until it is over and then plow. So I'm not too worried about them. Thanks for watching!

    I was surprised to see you change the plow angle and not use the hydraulic ram on the front of Elvis. I thought for sure you would take the chains and connect it to the back of the plow frame. Good work around. With the amount of adjustment you have, you can really dial in the float vs cutting pressure.

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. Good suggestion! Thanks for watching!

    Now that's what you call drive train👍🏾...I'm surprised the rear end drain plug is not magnetic

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One of the drain plugs is magnetic; either front or back. But I can't remember which. Thanks for watching!

    What are you using for a pump to lift the plow?

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  ปีที่แล้ว

      The truck has an engine mounted hydraulic pump. This controls the hydraulic dump bed, plow controls, and hydraulic spreader (not installed). Works well! Thanks for watching.

    You have to work to kill a 427 truck block motor. Keep the juices clean and they run forever. Sadly, GM stopped making them

    what's your trucks GVW?

  • @mrtowmonster
    @mrtowmonster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When i change plugs and plug wires I spray some wd 40 into the ends of the wires and they slide right onto the plugs and cap real easy and not so much of a fight and i do the same with the threads on the spark plugs so they thread in easier and less likely to cross thread and on aluminumn heads I put anti seize on the spark plug threads so when you change them they don't corrode or rust into the head

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always use dielectric grease in both ends of the plug wires and antisieze on the plug threads. And always start them by hand so they don't cross thread. I'm sorry I dont mention it, just some of things I do and don't think about.

    did you check the fluid in the transmission and the transfer case as well along with the power steering anti freeze and hydraulic oil for the plow

    I now better understand why we havent gotten any snow in the east yet... its your fault for being prepared

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I like snow, too. So to see Elvis sitting there not moving since I filmed this is a bummer to me. Oh well, one of the many things I can't control is the weather. I just have to be prepared for what *might* happen. Thanks for watching!

    P.S.
    Chevrolet firing order
    1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
    Odd runs driver side
    Anytime U do ignition maint on chevy that ran B4 fine and now skips check 5 & 7.
    U doing doing it as U do will Guarantee U won't make this mistake.
    I made and learned this mistake >40 yrs ago......
    And A-Frame should be parallel with/on ground, this can change Ur attack angle of cutting edge

    • @NorthForkHollow
      @NorthForkHollow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the suggestions. I knew that was the firing order for SBCs as I've dealt with them extensively in the past. But I wasn't sure on this BB if it was the same. So that was the easiest and quickest way to get it done. Thanks again!
