I bought one of these Lyman T Mag Turret presses in the early1990's to replace my RCBS Rockchucker Jr. that i bought in the late 70's.
I needed 15000-18000 rounds of .45 ACP per year to compete in IPSC matches. Loading that much ammo to shoot matches with the single stage instantly turned into a reloading marathon. It only took a month or two of that and I bought the T Mag turret. It was an affordable way out of the long sessions at the bench.
You can remove quite a lot of the play in the turret rocking by simply scraping the wrinkle paint off both sides of the turret under the center hold down washer using a gasket scraper. Scrape the wrinkle paint off the bottom of the turret where it sits and rotates on the press. I also scraped the paint off on the top of the turret around the holes where the die lock rings seat so the dies stay snugged down and true. Also the center hold down bolt/screw has a shoulder that bottoms on the press body where the turret sits. If the washer under the hold down bolt is not thick enough to take up the play the turret can rock like in the video. It takes a bit of fitting but these presses can be made to barely wobble and still rotate.
I also loaded small batches of 7.62x39, .357 magnum, .45 colt and .22 hornet on another spare turret. It is quite handy to have a spare turret or two if your loading larger quantities of a certain caliber and don't want to strip already set up dies out of that turret.
For the .45 ACP I used the RCBS priming arm and tube primer feed which fit on the Lyman turret and a Lee Auto Disk powder thru the case mouth flare die. I rigged a clear flexible tube out the bottom of the spent primer catch tray down to a coffee can on the floor under the bench. 3-4 hours on a Saturday i could produce 400 rounds of good reliable and accurate .45 ACP 175 major power factor ammo.
